UK, of course. It's a shame it even carries the same name as that American disgrace.

Serious / Re: Take my Criminal Law and Evidence exam!
« on: December 17, 2014, 03:50:43 AM »
Here's some of my International Organizational and European Constitutional Law questions from last year's exam, if you'd be interested in knowing what my average exam questions are like. I'm only including some of the shorter ones and those that I could find in English.

In October 2010, only a few months after the country was devastated by a massive
earthquake, Haiti was afflicted with another human tragedy: the outbreak of a cholera
epidemic, now the largest in the world, which has killed over 8,000 people, sickened more
than 600,000, and promises new infections for a decade or more. Tragically, the cholera
outbreak was caused by United Nations peacekeeping troops who inadvertently carried the
disease from Nepal to the Haitian town of Méyè. No Nepalese soldiers deployed as part of the
UN mission were tested for cholera prior to entering Haiti and the UN did not properly
manage its sanitation facilities, which allowed direct fecal contamination of the Artibonite
River, one of the country’s most important sources of drinking water.
A survivor consults your law firm for your opinion on the question whether he may obtain a
remedy and a financial compensation from the UN for this disaster. Please discuss and
develop your opinion while making sure to include the necessary conditions for international responsibility of the UN and whether or not they have been met, and what accountability measures, both national and international, you would advise to your client in order to submit his case.

What is the ratio of excluding leglisative measures from the scope of 263(4) TFEU? Is the ratio to exclude actio popularis in cases where the Treaty mandates broad economic policy measures to be adopted by Institutions with broad discretion? Is the ratio to exclude actio popularis in cases where the measure adopted has democratic legitimacy? Is the ratio both of the foregoing, or something else entirely?

If a prohibition to use certain fishing nets is laid down in a regulation adopted in accordance with the legislative procedure, there will only be standing if there is direct and individual concern. If on the other hand this prohibition is laid down in a delegated regulation, an action for annulment will be available if there is direct concern only." Do you agree?

“Effectiveness was always part of equivalence. There has never been a principle of equivalence as we think it existed. The principle of equivalence is not a principle of non-discrimination does not mean that “rights deriving from EU law must be subject to the same procedures as rights deriving from national law”. It is a one-way street: “rights deriving from EU law must not be subject to less favourable procedures than rights deriving from national law”. It may lead to reverse discrimination.” Et quid?

Cereal, it seems like.

I can see this playing out in my head through a cringe video.

Serious / Re: Jeb Bush to "Actively Explore 2016 Candidacy"
« on: December 16, 2014, 10:41:45 AM »
The preliminary move gives Bush the ability to raise money to dole out to other candidates, although it doesn't herald a formal candidacy just yet. In past cycles, a handful of candidates - like Republican Haley Barbour and Democrat Evan Bayh -- have made similar moves but ultimately decided not to mount a full-blown bid.

But the announcement will signal to donors that he's getting more serious about a run, which is likely to put pressure on other Republicans jockeying for position.
Just reading this and being reminded of how US elections and politics are basically bought is pretty disgusting.

At least Bungie has what it wants now. They can ignore all the valid criticism and the 3.0 average rating on Metacritic, and just point at the one in a thousand positive review / GOTY award.

What happened?
Shepard Clause spammed a bunch of threads, one with a picture of fish and chips, and another one with a picture form Interstellar.
oh...
And to top it off, I made 1 joke thread saying that if I was mod, this wouldn't happen. Now I'm watched...
There's a North Korea joke here somewhere...
We could always make you a mod? See how it is?
But I'm not part of the Great Reader's famiry.
I don't get it.
North Korea, Great Leader, "L's" turn into "R's".

I tried too hard...
Just a bit.

But being serious, it's tough being a staff member.
Seems that way.
One huge criticism I have...

Case-by-case evaluation. If it promotes serious discussion, it shouldn't matter that the source that started the thread is satire.

No award for being an autistic brony? I'm deeply disappointed.

Flee, one of our ninjas, is quite a brony. You've got a competition ahead of you
Is he a clopper? I might have the edge on this one
