The sheer number of people that showed up, along with the attendance of lawmakers and even law enforcement, made this event hard to dismiss as a fringe group of people, “clinging to their guns.”
Since Challenger seems to be doing well discussing the practicalities and actual interpretation of the law, I'm just going to point out that a mere 1000 people is just a fringe group of people clinging to their guns.

Serious / Re: Drones spotted near Belgian power plants
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:51:27 AM »
Yeah, this is pretty strange. Apparently there's been several drone sightings over nuclear power plants in France and the Netherlands over the past few weeks, and no one seems to know where they're from. This is the first reported incident of it happening over here as well.

And no worries about my power going out, I'm not going anywhere There's this intricate sharing thing going on between Belgium, France, The Netherlands and Germany to provide energy to one another in case there'd be a deficit. Which has never been necessary in the past.

Watching Korra is already half weeb. This was to be expected.
I don't actually like Korra that much. I liked the avatar whe I was younger and my girlfriend is really into it so I watch it to humor her
Sounds like it's not too late. Fight the weeb, don't let it take over!

I think you're being silly if you refuse to accept if Call of Duty isn't modern.
Just because Call of Duty is modern, does not mean that modern is Call of Duty.
Quote
. I really don't get your point of view on this, because you're acting like these new abilities destroy the emphasis on base movement.
From what I've seen, it kinda does. It just looks so incredibly "messy" compared to the barebones gameplay the previous Halo games offered.

Either way, we could argue about this forever. Point is, it all comes down to opinion. And when I look at this new Halo, it only vaguely reminds me of what I loved about Halo 2 and 3. I see aiming down the sights, CoD-like UI's, killcams and assassination animations. I see hovering, thrusting, sprinting, clambering, vaulting, groundpounding and slamming. There are game-modes without respawns, player models making call-outs and credits being earned after each game.

You are very welcome to have a different opinion, but I can't help but see Halo further straying away from its barebones roots that made it so great, and becoming more and more like CoD set in space with longer killtimes.

« on: December 21, 2014, 03:55:33 AM »
Guys, come on. Just tell me how this works.
On the off chance that you're not trolling and legitimately weren't taught the kind of basic math my 11 year old cousin is dealing with right now: you don't just go from left to right when solving math problems like these. There's an order that you need to follow. And that is that you first do the multiplications (15x36 = 540 and 15x64 = 960), and then the addition (540+960 = 1500). 1500 is less than 1501.

The only problem is she can't make it through the tutorial
i actually am atm up to Queelag because I am skipping the depths for now because I hate the depths more than any other area in the game.

Event the first half of Blighttown is better.
Don't tell me you don't know about the water slide to take you right to the end?
Are you trying to tell me that works?
Once you enter the Depths and make it to the first Butcher with the Large Ember in the chest, break the boxes behind it. You'll drop down into the room with the large rat. Kill the rat and go to the drainage slope ("water slide"). Stay all the way on the left and hop on it. It'll take you right to the end, skipping all the Basilisk frogs and rats. Head straight and you'll be at the gates to Blighttown, head right for Gaping Dragon and up the stairs on the right to open up the shortcut to the bonfire.
>mfw looked it up and it's real

Don't you dare doubt based flee
Some people man. They just won't trust you.

There's a pretty relevant and fairly obscure glitch with that area and the water slide shortcut, by the way. It's possible to parry and backstab the butcher into the hole and the rat area. If you manage to kill the rat immediately and get the butcher down there with you, you can lead her to the slide and riposte her on there. Because the butchers were never supposed to get anywhere near there, they don't have a sliding animation so their model will revert back to its default (but normally invisible) jesus-on-the-cross position as they slowly glitch down the slope. Pretty funny to do and see, if you ever feel like it.

The Flood / Re: So I'm watching The Babadook
« on: December 20, 2014, 01:43:39 PM »
When I saw the trailer, it reminded me of that one movie, sinister, is it similar to that movie?
They both have the haunted family / person thing going on, but other than that they're very different. The Babadook is a lot more psychological and personal. I'd definitely recommend it over Sinister.
Hm, I'll have to give it a watch then.
You should. It really is one of the most unnerving horror movies I've seen, and I've seen plenty.

Gaming / Re: The new zoom mechanic for Halo 5 is great.

But CoD's visuals are dull grey-browns in the name of "supar gritty." This is like smack in-your-face lights and explosions [which is also concerning but still.
I was talking more about the UI and HUD than the setting of the game. Bright lights and colors don't make an arena shooter.

And I'm glad to hear those things aren't a part of Halo 5, but I'm still very sceptical. Just watching the gameplay makes it look so much like CoD: Advanced Warfare in space and with longer kill times.
