Yeah I know, but they can't just hide that part of their history and act like it didn't happen. That's what I don't like about this.
Well, that's kind of the entire point. They're trying to prevent this from being forgotten and from people stirring up shit. The longer it's been, the easier it becomes to meddle facts with fiction. The point of these laws is to stop right wing groups from instigating hatred and discrimation by systematically trying to deny and pollute the holocaust and its severity. I guess that this is a very cultural thing though. For example, as opposed to the US, slavery or guns were never much of a thing here, which is why things like the second amendment and some racial stuff is incredibly foreign and strange to us. On the other hand, the US may have been very involved in the second world war, but the country didn't even come close to experiencing what mainland Europe went through, which is why things like these anti-denial laws might make no sense to you but are generally accepted here.

Whether those laws are actually and seriously enforced would be the better question here.
Seems like they just go after loud mouthed individuals to keep their image clean. Otherwise, a lot more people would be in jail.
Still, jail time for denying something happened? What the fuck.
I agree to some extent. I'm not in favor of these anti-denial laws, but I do feel that certain kinds of hate speech and instigation should be covered by penal law.

The general scientific consensus on this is, of course, a very decisive "no".
Seems like 3 people here are scientifically illiterate though, so they can expect a visit of the Banhammer of Bias some time soon.
LORD FLEE HAS ARRIVED!!!!! ALL HAIL THE LORD!!!!
Glad to see you're still here Comms. Gotta enjoy those last hours of parole.
I was disappointed to learn that the only other Greek here is a meaniebutt who votes for Golden Dawn and discriminates against other Greeks because they're Greek. :^(
Aw. Had a run in with Isara?
I suggested that an idea be implemented, and she was mean to me about it. :^(
What was your suggestion?

So not every single one of my posts would be blacklisted once I go back into my voluntary exile. (cause frankly, there's no reason to have my posts blacklisted if my ban is voluntary)
I'm assuming it has to do with you being the only person that this would be applicable to. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to implement new features, so I can see why she wouldn't be interested in doing so. Especially with the big forum update coming out so soon. The easier solution would be for you to just stop posting and not having someone ban you. That way your posts would still be visible, but it might tempt you more to come back.

Well simply put, there is no actual data that shows what unjustifiable homicides make up gang/organized crime activity. With that said, there are some estimated numbers with a few select cities: New Orleans gang-related homicides number between 33-55%, In Chicago, an estimated 80% of homicides are gang-related. And in Baltimore, the police commissioner states that 80% of homicides are drug-related. So while it may not be gangs in every case, their does lay a criminal manner with these deaths that take place between drug deals, robberies, burglaries, kidnapping, car jacking, etc
https://www.nationalgangcenter.gov/Survey-Analysis/Measuring-the-Extent-of-Gang-Problems"These estimates suggest that gang-related homicides typically accounted for around 13 percent of all homicides annually." "Highly populated areas accounted for the vast majority of gang homicides: nearly 67 percent occurred in cities with populations over 100,000" "In a typical year in the so-called “gang capitals” of Chicago and Los Angeles, around half of all homicides are gang-related; these two cities alone accounted for approximately one in four gang homicides recorded in the NYGS from 2011 to 2012." And this is counting all gang-related homicides, including those that didn't involve guns. There might not be exact numbers, but this makes two things very clear. One, that the "crime capitals" like Chicago and LA are far from representative for what happens in most of the country. And two, that out of those 11,000 homicides, probably only a few hundred to a thousand are gang-related. The rest are not. Either way, I'm just pointing out that I can understand a kid being scared of having a gun in the house. The media isn't exactly subtle when it comes to the subject, so shootings and gun violence are a daily theme both on the news and in shows/movies.

Is it right? Nope. Is there anything you can do about it as long as you're still a minor? Nope.

Legitimate question here: what's scary about having a gun in the home? What about a gun hidden in a drawer gives a feeling of insecurity?
This.
Out of the very large amount of gun related homicides and injuries that take place in the US every year, only a small percentage has got to do with gangs and organized crime. It's not even been a few weeks since Rocketman posted on here how a family member almost got shot by his partner who went for the gun in an argument and a fit of rage. This kind of stuff, including tons of potentially lethal accidents, happens in a ton of households every single day. I'm not going to turn this into another gun debate, but I can definitely see why a kid would be uncomfortable having one around the house.

I'm surprised to actually agree with Kinder on something gun related, but that was an incredibly stupid appeal to emotion.

This actually happened during one of LC's intoxicated sessions.

I'm only going to give you one verbal warning. Stop spamming.
knock it off please. This is your warning
But I'm just making AMA threads like any other member of this site. Also why am I getting warned for spam but this thread is OK?
The reason that thread is allowed is because there's only one of it. It's why a single AMA thread of yours would be perfectly fine, but 6 of them are not.

She's applying for EU citizenship?
No such thing as applying for EU citizenship, I'm afraid. You become a national of any member state and automatically become a EU citizen that way. Moving here is proving to be quite the challenge though, so we're currently exploring her coming over to study and get a degree here, and then extending her stay and applying for naturalization.
