The Flood / Re: Conceal Carry Weapons. Your feelings?
« on: January 12, 2015, 10:52:54 AM »
I've actually become more dangerous without my weapon than with it. It's like a restraint mechanism rather than a security blanket

You can't dock if you're circumcised.

Checkmate cutfags
I remember when one of you showed me what that was in Anarchy. Didn't sleep for two nights straight.
Too turned on to sleep?
I literally saw a penis swallow another one whole. That's nightmare material.

10653
Serious board is for serious discussions, guys. Keep that in mind.

Seriously, you ever have one in your mouth?
...no.
Then you have no say on this.
Well, shit. Guess I'll just go remove all of my previous posts here, all of which completely invalidated because I never sucked dick.

This thread is so fucking golden
I knew from the moment it was bumped that this was going to be a goodie.

The reason this is so vehemently defended is that if people were to "give in", it would entail the realization that they were wronged and had their genitals mutilated for no good reason on the one hand, or that their penis is gross on the other. It's why this whole argument is still a thing and why this is such a heated debate. Most people are pretty fond of their genitals and no one wants to be made to feel that theirs are somehow inadequate or mistreated.

In that sense, Tyger's comparison to a console war isn't that far off. Same thing applies there: people buy a console and games, which costs quite a bit of money, so they feel like they have to defend their situation at any cost, as acknowledging the opposite would lead to the implicit acceptance of being on the "wrong side" and being off worse than others.

No one on either side of the argument wants people to feel inadequate, of course. Those opposed to circumcision don't want to give rise to feelings of inferiority or anything like that. They just want people to be a little thoughtful about cutting off a part of their child's genitals for absolutely no reason other than the fact that it's customary. It's a shame that this really still is such an issue.

oh, there's tens of thousands?

there's 150 million men in the US, guy
If you'd simply google "foreskin restoration", you'd see that there's dozens of actual organizations out there who are working on just that. Seeing how it's something that anyone can do at home without any type of surgical intervention, it's obviously extremely hard to properly determine how many men are doing this. Yet if you'd have a look around these sites, which I'm not going to link because of NSFW pictures on there, you'd find that just one of these organizations that isn't even active in half of the US, NORM, already had over 7000 men involved with them back in 2001. So yes, I don't think that tens of thousands is such a bad estimate.

Not to mention that these are just the people that are actually actively trying to restore their foreskin through these organizations. It only makes sense that the actual number of people with complaints and regrets is far higher than this.
I doubt these organizations even have those numbers. It's really not uncommon for organizations and companies to lie about memberships. They probably have 7000 Internet users, and most of them are just there to troll their forums.
They don't seem to have forums and the 7,000 number apparently were all applications by phone. Their book also already sold over 13,000 copies back in '01.

10660
Foreskin restoration surgery?
That's more haram than silicone titty monsters.

I didn't even know that was a thing though.
It is a thing, and it can even by achieved by non surgical measures. Wiki has a page on it, but I will warn you that there is an picture of a penis on there, so obvious NSFW link.

Verby pls. Out of all people here, I never would've thought that you'd go for the "I personally have never seen someone complain so that means it doesn't exist" argument.
that's not the fucking argument that i'm making, guy
You're right. The argument you're making is "I haven't seen it happen once and therefore don't think it happens enough for it to be an issue". Which really is just as bad of an argument, seeing how you're simply relying on your own personal experience to make very general claims.

10663
you don't hear about people complaining about having been circumcised anywhere
I assume this is why there's tens of thousands of men in the US alone going through foreskin restoration procedures? Because they aren't complaining and don't feel wronged?

Verby pls. Out of all people here, I never would've thought that you'd go for the "I personally have never seen someone complain so that means it doesn't exist" argument.

10664
Start with the beginning, it's a very good place to start
Will do, and I'll try to be brief about it too.
I remember my circumcision, it was...
It's well established that emotional trauma and adverse psychological effects are very real possible consequences of circumcision.
Quote
My grandfather had phimosis as a teenager so he had to get curcumcised then, and said it was horrible.
Medical practice 50-60 years ago is hardly comparable to what's currently the standard. That isn't saying that circumcision still doesn't suck though, but what it does mean is that it's a last resort. There's dozens of ways to deal with phimosis that don't involve removing the foreskin, such as creams and stretching exercises. Removing the foreskin as a precaution, as you put it, is tantamount to the routine removal of the appendix on all young children because "it could potentially but unlikely cause complications some day".
Quote
Why would I want my kids to be subjected to suffering they will remember over one they will cry about for 3 minutes and then just want to suck be fed and sleep?
"Even though it's extremely unlikely my child will ever have to go through this kind of suffering at a later age, I feel that it is best we force him through it as a baby so that he won't remember it later". See the appendix argument above. You're intentionally hurting an infant by removing a part of its genitals because there is a slight chance that some day in his life, something could end up being wrong with them. That's poor logic and pretty cruel.

Also, I don't think you realize how much goes into a circumcision. It isn't a simple "snip" that the baby gets over within minutes. It involves restraining the infant to a table before stretching out the foreskin beyond its limits and then cutting it off, which can take over half an hour. Not only does this take weeks to heal, there's also a whole array of possible complications. I strongly recommend you watch the Penn and Teller episode on circumcision and have a look at the footage of an actual circumcision they show. It isn't for the faint of heart though, and if you legitimately thought that it's a quick and painless ordeal that takes the child 3 minutes to get over, you're probably in for a shock.

10665
The only people who should have a say in the circumcision debate are women and fags, and we all agree that a nice cut looks better than a god damn earthworm turkey baster looking thing.

There's so much wrong with this post that I don't even know where to start.

10667
Except a circumcision is not a big procedure, in fact it takes less than a minute.
It takes up to half an hour of a baby being strapped down to a table while a part of its penis is being cut off. Something that, unsurprisingly, hurts like a mofo.

10668
>Being upset about the Human anatomy.
Shouldn't you complain that women should cut one of their breasts off too, because that's aesthetically pleasing or some shit?
So essentially you're saying is that we should ban ear piercings, nail clippers, razors, haircuts, and shampoo because it's wrong to modify your body for an aesthetic reason?
No, it's wrong for someone else to modify your body for aesthetic reasons.
Okay, so children under 18 should be banned from getting ear piercings, manicures/pedicures, and dying their hair different colors?

Great job butchering that poor code.

Those are temporary at best, but they're hardly comparable to amputation.
Unless your dick was the size of an arm or leg when you were young, circumcision is no where near comparable to an amputation.
Circumcision is an amputation by definition, pretty much.

Same with ear piercings, faggot
Ear piercings count as amputation?

Not really "monging out", but I once got a 20/100 on an exam in my first year of Uni. Funnily enough, this still landed me in the top half of the class.
wat.
I'm not sure what's confusing you?
Just how half the class got less than 20/100. Is that normal?
Only around 20-30% of people who start at my law faculty end up with a Master's degree, so it's not that uncommon for the vast majority to fail, especially in the first year of the program.

I guess, but I'm not exactly social, so it wouldn't be to harsh, just boring.
No matter how asocial you are, it'll break almost anyone. Being deprived of any human contact and having nothing to do might be boring at first, but if it goes on for weeks? You'll go insane.
