Biden is just now barely edging Trump by a ball hair in Michigan.

It's kind of sad that American politics has devolved into picking which crusty geriatric white man will be running the country for another four years.
That being said, any American that has a subatomic particle of morality in their body should be voting to get Trump out. Fuck that tub of bumbling butter and his brigade of servile troglodytes. 97

So I just got done finishing both seasons of Cobra Kai.
2nd season is a bit questionable but the 1st season is pretty top notch, that is if you can ignore some hammy acting and the occasional eye rolling teenage angst drama. The choreography is some of the best I've seen in a TV show and the characters are surprisingly complex, especially Johnny. 99

Pretty impressive stuff from Biden even if he did have a couple of brain farts, i.e. the "poor boys" mishap.
He out flanked Trump on all the populist issues and made him look like the elitist rather than the outsider. Calling it now. The Trump trains over. The 2016 magic just isn't there anymore. He's gone from the renegade populist that could bring back jobs to just another wall street crony. Who honestly gives a fuck about the stock market unless you're in the top 10%? Rust belt voters certainly don't. 100

Serious / Re: Coronavirus panic room thread« on: October 06, 2020, 02:02:47 PM »Unfortunately a lot of people thought it was just going to be a two month stint then back to normality. Lockdown unity is all well and good until you realise businesses and employers can't cope with long term shut downs. That's when the every man for himself mentality creeps in.Back to fucking square 1 again in the UK. 16,000 positive cases went under reported because some fucking helmet misplaced an excel spreadsheet. We're in the midst of a full blown second wave. It's March all over again. It's insane how much unity there was in that first month (in the US, at least) of lockdown. I've seen so many people who are either increasingly apathetic or bewilderingly antagonistic toward any plan to solve this issue. It's like a disease that's killed 210 THOUSAND people (and is projected to kill another 150k by January 1st with current projections) in this country has just been accepted as a new normal. The vampire capitalist attitude of "work or die" that permeates the fabric of American society is precisely why nobody is giving a shit that a death toll equivalent of 9/11 has been occurring every day. 104

I think I low key preferred lockdown to this weird indefinite purgatory we're in now. At least it felt we had some sort of collective goal we were working towards. Now it feels like there's no end in sight. 105

Imagine being the clown that thinks we're back to normal just because he's able to do his NPC activities again. Oh, but with a mask though.
He says as 5000 plus people die per day and an economic recession the likes of which we haven't seen since the Great Depression looms over us. 106

Anyone watching Lovecraft Country? Started off promising but now I'm not really sure what to make of it. First episode was horror kino but now it's giving off weird Indiana Jones vibes for some reason.

Idk how to feel about this. While I fully support any and all victims of sexual harassment and assault, I'm not totally on board with these petty twitter takedowns. If you have legitimate and serious allegations to come forward with you should be going through the proper legal channels with law enforcement.
While I appreciate that it's difficult for a great number of women to actually report a sexual crime, as well the innumerable hurdles they have to endure just to see any sort of judicial progress, a social media tit for tat isn't going to benefit anybody, and it's not really yielding any great results for the victims. 112

It's worth noting that he's not the only content creator to have allegations levied at him. Numerous women are coming forward with accusations pertaining to the gaming industry in general. Thoughts? 113

Serious / Re: Should we apply modern moral values to monuments from the past?« on: June 19, 2020, 07:48:10 AM »
A monument by nature is purposefully designed to commemorate an historical figure for their past deeds. Removing statues honouring slave traders does not "revise" or nullify history any more than removing swastika flags and banners in Germany post 1945 did. You can appreciate and understand historical context without having to aggrandise morally bankrupt people with memorials.
Statues celebrating individual people are fucking stupid anyway. You can't attribute multi faceted historical feats to one person. 115

Never have I seen a TV show been erased from the public consciousness so quickly as much as TWD. I mean, maybe only GoT has surpassed it, but at least GoT was talked about right up until the finale.
TWD is pretty much syfy tier now. Literally nobody talks about it and yet AMC are still adamant on keeping it on life support. 117

For any bongs here looking for stuff to watch I highly recommend hopping onto the Channel 4 streaming app. It has all the prime late 2000s, early 2010s britkino shows like Misfits, This is England and Inbetweeners at the expense of having to watch a couple ads. Y'all sleeping on it. 118
