It's good in the sense of responsible people who know how to use a gun can better protect themselves and feel more safe now.
It's bad because the mentally unstable and criminals can now open carry, therefore giving them the illusion they have more freedom, which leads to more violence.
I think the negatives out weight the positives a bit.
You must be a CHL holder to open carry.

The bill that will make Open Carry legal in Texas has passed the House and Senate and will soon be signed into law. You will still have to have your CHL in order to participate in this.
What are your thoughts on this?
While I thinks its great, I wont be practicing Open Carry. I dont want anybody to know im packing. I can also see many misunderstandings coming with people suddenly carrying in plain site.

If you remember a while back, my FN Five Seven was seized by ATF because FN messed up its registration.
After a long wait and fighting. I managed to finally get my pistol back and a complete refund for the trouble!
