Here's a recently released video of a police shooting that shows just how fast they happen and how ridiculous the argument of shooting someone in the knee to incapacitate them is.

The Flood / Need Help Choosing a Car for a Teenager« on: June 24, 2015, 10:07:41 PM »
T4R. Got a nephew. Needs a car. It needs to be simple, reliable, and reasonably fuel efficient. Reliable enough to drive over decades old, pothole infested roads and gravel paths daily. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: I seem to be homing in on a used Police For Crown Victoria. Seems like a good choice. They are reasonably priced and are built to be used by the police, so they should be rugged. I'm going to try to get one in a nice neutral grey color so the thing doesn't look too much like a cop car. Any objections? 126

The Flood / Need help with the name of a cartoon pilot episode« on: June 02, 2015, 02:33:09 PM »
It was a cartoon pilot made in the early 2000's. It's generally well known now for it's fresh style that would have changed the way cartoons were back then, but it was never released for reasons that are not definite. it never got past it's initial pilot. One of the rumored reasons is that a scene in the pilot where an airship squeezes between two towers was too reminiscent of the still recent 9/11 attacks. The pilot was centered around a girl and her dad fighting the father's evil twin brother. Anyone remember what it was called?

T4R. Up until Halo 4, I'd read just about all the necessary literature for the Halo storyline, but then after Halo 4 came out, a clusterfuck of new books, comics, and other things came out. Could someone please tell me what I missed? What is after Glasslands and Primordium?

There are reports out now from several sources that Putin has been ousted in a secret coup. He hasn't been seen in more than a week and things are looking dim. Reading the articles about this was surreal. It's like reading about the plot of a movie. Here's a few of the articles:

but also absurdly fattening and unhealthy. My family got the raw dough from some off-brand cinnamon rolls. The kind from the little packets that pop when you press the seam. We took those, cut the dough into little pieces, rolled them into balls, fried them in butter, and then coated them in powdered sugar while they were still hot. They are delicious.

The Flood / Describe your daydreams.......« on: March 10, 2015, 05:53:03 PM »
T4R. Post yours and describe them with extreme detail. You'd be surprised how good it feels to vent this kind of thing. I needed to vent a bit, so I made this thread. Post yours to the extent of detail that you desire. If it's fear of judgement that holds you back, just remember that OP is a 48 year old man on a forum full of teenagers venting his daydreams based on a kids show. Someone's bound to enjoy the read of your daydreams. With anonymity, there is no dignity. Anyway, here's mine. Be warned: It's long as fuck and is a grammatical mess that may be hard to keep up with. It's not really a story but more of a description of the various offshoots that some of my daydreams have taken. Judge me if you will, I enjoy both negative and positive feedback.
Spoiler Mine are usually about some warped version of a show or something along those lines. Usually LoK, using the backstory I created and the main characters slowly discovering the truth behind the world. An Illuminati of sorts running everything and keeping everything under wraps by giving the world it's spiritual spectacles with the technology they posses rather than actual spiritual shit going on. Like if Korra had a vision of the real past where it shows the destruction of earth through war, over-population, plague, the initial arrival on the new planet, the real origins story regarding wan and lion turtles. A vision where it shows the origins of bending as a artificial, biologically integrated means of self-defense and a way to unite humanity behind elemental nations and prevent racial/religious discrimination and replace it with elemental divisions, with the avatar as a symbol and guide towards progress. It would also show how this AVI(Avatar Illuminati) has kept everything under wraps up until that point. Things like agents using long-range weapons to eliminate threats to each avatar during major events and battles, undercover agents either befriending or becoming an an enemy of an avatar in order to influence the avatar in their paths and decisions(I.E. Azula, Sokka, Bolin) would be examples of their influence. Stuff like that happening but with different scenarios behind it. Like one where there is a civil war happening within the AVI, with one side favoring revealing the truth to the world and the other favoring keeping it under wraps. Of course, an agent of the side that wants to expose everything and up revealing everything to Korra by posing as a sick, twisted villain that they have never faced before. One that slowly hints at the truth in each confrontation with a small speech and by using advanced technology to kick their asses. And of course, he would defeat them, and while Korra was down, he would show her the truth along with her whole gang. I love imagining what their reactions would be like. The past would either be revealed with this scenario, or a massive battles between Illuminati factions breaking out all over the world. Massive air battles, ground mechs, super tanks, and augmented soldiers running around using hyper-advanced weaponry to wreak havoc that has never before been seen on that planet. In this situation the avatar and her gang would see some crazy shit. Like ethnicites that were only thought of as legend or have never been heard of at all, ways of killing people one couldn't even dream of, WMDs being used on various scales, etc. Of course, One side would win, but the battle/battles would have served the purpose of the side favoring exposure anyway. So the dazed team avatar and the rest of the world would face the new reality of adapting to a society dominated by these people for the time being while a mass cleanup and aid operation is launched for everyone affected by the AVI's internal conflict. Either that happening, or in a different scenario where certain world-events that the Illuminati doesn't want happening would be intervened in by agents equipped with various levels of advanced technology, either to inspire certain events, or cause them directly. They would prevent certain things from being invented such as nuclear, biological, and high velocity projectile weapons and inspire more peaceful inventions and innovations. This would explain the rapid development of technology in the avatar universe. I sometimes also like to imagine that these agents would confront people of influence such as Asami and/or Varrick through various proxy methods of contact such as manipulated dreams or advanced hypnosis to show them blueprints and schematics for various devices that would want them to invent so that the world-stage would be changed in the way the AVI desires. Sometimes I also Imagine that somehow the avatar gang or certain members of them come into contact with some of these agents and develop a sort of relationship which would lead the member of the avatar gang into amazing adventures full of technological wonders that the person never knew existed. This would go on and a great many things that were meant to be kept secret would be revealed to this person. This would result in one of two scenarios. One would be where the said member of the avatar gang would be thought of as crazy when they try to explain the things they've seen and experienced during their time with the agents. It would be thought and that they fabricated all of these things because of some underlying psychological issue. This belief among the other members of the avatar gang would be prevalent until a climax-like reveal occurs which confirms the testimony of their friend that they thought was going crazy. This would occur at a point where the person who went through such things would begin to fall apart and question their own sanity as to whether their experiences happened or not. The second scenario is a complete branch off of the first with completely different circumstances. It would start with an individual(s) significant to the avatar plot-line being kidnapped by a large, heavily organized crime-synidcate. A ransom would be offered, but negotiations would fall apart leaving the situation worse. Threats of torture, rape and murder against the hostages would be made. At this point, two things could happen. The first being that the crime syndicate has grown to a point where they were either interfering with the AVI's operations, or had offended them in some way by doing something the syndicate knows would be met with extreme retaliation from whatever super-massive organization lurks in the shadows of the world. The said offense would either be made in violation of an agreement made between the AVI and the syndicate in doubt that the AVI has the power to retaliate, or it would be made in a complete lack of knowledge of their existence. The second thing that could happen is that either Varrick, being in the wealthy position he is in, would know of the AVI(only to an extremely limited extent) and in an emotion fueled impulse would hire the AVI to rescue the hostages and retaliate against the syndicate. Either way, the result would be almost exactly the same. The AVI would initiate a covert operation in which they would absolutely crush the syndicate and in the process rescue the hostages. In the scenario above, at that point, I imagine several things happening. In the case of Varrick hiring the AVI to do the rescue OP, the hostages would be rescued and returned home with extreme efficiency. The method of which, would shock the rest of the avatar gang(advanced aircraft landing at their doorstep and returning the hostages to their home). In the case of the syndicate offending the AVI, a covert operation would also be launched with the sole intention of eradicating the organized crime group. Several agents striking the syndicate location where the hostages are being held would come across the hostages just as the previously stated torture/rape/murder threats are about the be carried out. The agents would quickly dispatch those carrying out such threats with extreme prejudice and excessively painful methods of doing so. The agents would dispute what to do with the dazed and scarred hostages but in any case end up taking them in. Those rescued from the now destroyed syndicate would then be in a state of limbo. They would be transferred around various AVI facilities and treated for their injuries as their fate is decided. This would expose them to a number things that to them, would be technological wonders and seem very surreal. Depending on the characters kidnapped, they would either be returned home or befriend the agent(s) that rescued them. In the case of them being returned home, they would be returned in an uneventful way and they would relay their experiences to their families, ultimately to be treated by a therapist who believes they fabricated much of it to cope with the traumas they experienced. Despite this, Asami(assuming she wasn't a hostage) and/or Varrick would be very intrigued in the vividity and practical details of the technology they former hostages describe. In the case of them befriending the agent(s) that rescued them, they would go on many adventures as they are shown the hidden society that is the AVI. This would result in a very intimate relationship, between the character and their rescuer. Eventually, the character would have to return home and in the case of the person being female she would come back but would be pregnant as a result of the relationship she developed with the agent mentioned earlier. In the case of the character being a male, obviously he wouldn't be pregnant, but would also have developed a relationship with one of his rescuers(female). In either case, the character in question would be sworn to silence about their experiences and would seem depressed about their separation from their AVI significant other. In the case of the character being female and pregnant, the resulting child/children would be beautiful/immensely handsome and once again of an ethnicity not before seen by society outside of the AVI. That or rather than being as old as the previous scenarios, the AVI would be a much more recent development that formed after the general desperation colonization of the planet. They would form using what technology was left over from such events, old schematics and would little by little re-build the human empire secretly and would act as a mythical mercenaries for the super-elite of the Avatar society. But they could only be paid in significant control over resources or scavenged technology and relics from the time when humanity was first transported from Earth to this planet. Such devices would be considered "Spiritual" to most people in the avatar universe, but the AVI know better and are aware of their true artificial and technological origins. Depending on the worth and significance of the artifact exchanged, you would be offered various services ranging from personal protection to the toppling of a nation. The avatar gang through some odd circumstance would hear about the AVI, but would believe they are just a myth. They would believe so until someone of interest to them finds an ancient nuclear device and contact the AVI. They would do so by going to what would appear to be some sort of forbidden spiritual site, but would really be a terminal for contacting the AVI. Of course, team avatar sees them doing so and expects nothing of it. Neither side knows what the device is and Team Avatar expects nothing to happen and thinks that they are chasing fairytales. Against everyone's expectations, something does happen. The site lights up and comes to life, scans the people in it and the object with them, and a loud, computerized voice would confirm the contact and significance of the item. Everything would go silent and withing minutes, large aircraft would de-cloak high in the sky, swoop down at high speed, land, and a man dressed in foreign looking business attire from past ages emerges surrounded by armed men clad in mythical looking advanced armor. The man is of an ethnicity never seen before by those present(presumably blonde with blue eyes since seems to be the only ethnicity never shown in the show) and inquires about the requests of the group that contacted them. Of course, because of the significant nature of a nuclear device and the potential threat that it poses against humanity, the services offered would be phenomenal. Before team avatar can do anything, the ship leaves. That's usually as far as I get. There are more detail but I figured I've listed enough. I've had a lot more spare time than I would prefer today, so thanks a lot for taking that up, Sep7agon. Here's some pictures that inspire/support a lot of these daydreams: 140

The Flood / OMFG these Takis are amazing« on: February 23, 2015, 07:58:06 PM »
So Takis, a snack food prominent down south and originally migrated from Mexico, recently came out with a new flavor for their classic rolled corn snacks. And these things taste like a fucking authentic Mexican restaurant. No joke. They taste exactly like the chips and salsa you would find at a Mexican restaurant. They are amazing and I can't stop being surprised by how much they taste like it. The flavor is called Salsa Brava. It's some good shit and you people need to try it ASAP along with every other Taki flavor in existence because all of them are delicious. Here's a pic
Spoiler WARNING:Takis are known to cause nightmarish creeping lava-like volcano shits when eaten in excess. The likes of which you only hear about in stories or in exaggerated Taco Bell recollections, but only worse. Beware the burning ass. They don't just burn you anus, but your entire inner asscheeks as well. Spoiler Have some lady Taki for good measure. I thought I'd beat you guys to the post. 145
