It depends on your connection speed, the fact that it's fiber means shit if your ISP still caps you at 5mbps.
Well it looks like we are getting 80 down 40 up so I'm kinda hoping that is actually true and not just the usual advertising bullshit <.<
Advertising, you'll likely get closer to 25-40 down, 5-10 up. If that.

it's probably because you don't actually need to pre-order games to secure a purchase. supplies are always high. oh and that you have to pay to pre-order, i remember a short while ago i could just pre-order without having to drop some money as a deposit
You haven't needed to pre-order to secure a copy for years. The cause is a lack of trust.

When and if that will happen is impossible for me to say, but no, we’re not saying that space battles are evil and that we will never, ever touch them with a ten-foot pole.

What you see in DLC is sometimes the result of things that you started thinking during the latter part of development.

That's as close a confirmation as you'll get for a year at least. I'm sorry to jump to conclusions but surely this can't be a coincidence that they've noticed the back-lash ("thinking during the latter part of development") and now plan to release it as DLC.

Yes, >ign

I suppose this is a good thing, hopefully the corporate moneygrabbers are starting to realise that what they've been playing at has gotten beyond tolerable. It's a significant dent in the numbers, another year of this and they will be forced to re-consider their position.

Gaming / Re: What reason do you think Battlefront is at 40 players?
« on: April 23, 2015, 07:46:32 PM »
Reduced server load, it's not like EA are going to ever invest in decent servers so by limiting the number of players they reduce the stress levels and therefore the risk of another BF4

« on: April 23, 2015, 07:44:55 PM »

I'm looking forward to this game. The movie looks badass and the GameInformer special about this got me hyped. This game is going to be the shit. I just hope it doesn't end up being like Battlefront.
WB is in a galaxy far far away from EA. I wouldn't worry about that happening, I just hope it has a good level of content. As brilliant as SoM was it felt a little small and short

The Surface in Metro 2033, after reading the books beforehand and of course playing the game it was every bit as dangerous and stunning as I hoped it'd be. Especially in Ranger mode.

This is all in-engine, from gameplay and cutscenes. Damn it looks fantastic, not just the graphics but the sheer beauty of it. The way your car collides with others, the combat... It looks seriously meaty and great fun, WB have a good history with franchise games at this point (Batman, SoM, etc..), and as this looks like it uses a similar combat system and of course is in the vein of both of them.

I think this is going to be one to watch, it'll slip under the radar just as SoM did (mostly) but I reckon this will be a great little game.

I might get it, Treyarch has a great track record. I've enjoyed all of their previous CoD games.

651
Titanfall is s great showoff piece, it plays, feels and looks great but it's got barely enough content to keep anyone interested. The idea of having AI within pvp was inspired, it works great.

Gaming / Re: Aw shit Dice what the fuck are you doing

I'd much rather prefer they nail the gameplay in this one and really go for it properly with space battles in the next one-that would be the best way to do it and a way to improve upon the first.
They can still do that by having a DLC for the game. For the remaining months till launch which is when the game is done development wise they can have part of the team doing space. When the game launches and it's a lot more stable the space team can get bigger. Not having space battles at all for this game is going to piss off a lot of people. You're going to be paying more than what the second game was for less content.
I'm not too sure about less content exactly, the upcoming one will have customization and of course the maps will absolutely dwarf those previously seen in Battlefront. Although not having conquest is an enormous blow, that is something I really care about.
The game is launching with less content but it's charging full price. Battlefront 2 launched with a campaign,  space battles, the clone wars era, conquest, instant action which were the AI battles and it is 64 players on the PC. Customization still doesn't make up for lack of content and a piss poor player cap for a game on the PC and 8th gen.
I must admit that the player cap is odd. I find the lack of the prequel era, instant action (although it sounds like there'll be an equivalent) and galactic conquest.... disturbing.

Terribly sorry about the poor resolution, but it's how it is in the original video

It would seem this is from the local co-op missions that Dice have talked about, showcasing both the 3rd and 1st person perspectives. It looks stunning-even at low-res and decidedly un-Battlefield, which is surprising.

I'm not sure if i'm slow on this image, the video was posted yesterday but i've not seen anything about it and everyone was moaning about the trailer being pre-remdered so...

Looks nice, but graphics don't mean shit if gameplay is terrible.
Yeah, but as much as DICE and EA cock up Battlefield games are always great fun to play.

If you buy this game, then literally kill yourself.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

We'll see, I enjoyed Battlefield 4 when it worked

The Flood / "The Land of Rape and Honey"-
« on: April 22, 2015, 02:43:00 PM »

Oil Seed is the scourge of the countryside here, every bloody field has that ghastly yellow crop everywhere.
Rapeseed, and it's rather nice. It's beneficial to the local economy too and doesn't set off my hayfever like some things can. It shines nicely in the sun

Call it what you like but I prefer to not trigger people like that you cisgendered scum.

That's weird though, pretty sure it's oilseed that puts my brother's hayfever through the roof. Must be lucky on that one, but I'd take a field of wheat over a field of oilseed any day.
It's Rapeseed, or Oilseed rape. I prefer the former. Mine is triggered primarily by Hawthorn pollen (which is unfortunately common around here). As for wheat, it's pretty boring and drastically less lucrative-here in Hampshire it's mostly a mix of sweetcorn, rapeseed, wheat and the rest is for animals (everything from cows to alpacas and llamas).

Besides, it's a beautiful plant. Like a giant stem of buttercups
I know it's proper name, but it's just called oilseed around here.

Worcestershire doesn't really have a specific crop, it's just a shitload of oilseed and a decent spread of wheat/grains. It's a pretty ugly plant when you have to drive past walls of gaudy yellow shit every day of your life until it's wintertime.
It's still better than wheat
your cropfu a shit
