I found QZ's Vehicle section to be tedious.
driving paper mâché vehicles and was firing peas against seagulls
Did you even play Reach and Halo 4?
Yes, but Halo 2 vehicleplay is so boring and such a chore, Reach and 4 make it feel as if you are actually driving a military vehicle, not either a soapbox or a paper airplane

Wow, one guy who, judging by style and image quality, is from late 90s early 00s

So Halo 4 is better than 1-3 because of graphics?
No, the gunplay is far superior and it feels very very nice in 60fps, i'm playing it right now and at times I forget that it's Halo 4 that i'm playing and bot Halo 2A
......
Play Halo 4 after playing H2A, it's startling how many similarities shine through and how enjoyable 4 is once you start playing it like 2. I find myself desperately scrambling to find a carbine and a BR
That's because of the few things Halo 4 did right was removing bloom/spread from the BR and Carbine.
I know, but the general gunplay and design is remarkably akin to Halo 2, obviously in recent months we've seen just how much of Halo 2 343 is incorporating into H5 but i'm beginning to think that perhaps we were wrong to judge 343 so harshly, Halo 4 contains a lot things seemingly inspired directly by Halo 2
...Like hitscan and no spread?
Like kill times and the effectiveness of various tactics against enemies, most noticeably Jackals
So, for similarities we have: hitscan, no spread on precision weapons, and moderately fast average kill times. And for differences we have, everything else in the game. Sorry, but despite having some of the better core elements of the Halo games, all the extra tacked on junk ruins Halo 4 for me.
And how, exactly are Jackals any more similar than other games?
Halo 3 Jackals are fucking useless
And maybe if you had the ability to look past the shit in H4 and appreciate the values it has then you'd understand me
Say that to the Jackal snipers, and that also doesn't make Halo 4 that good if Halo 3 was the only one that messed up.
I am reminded of a quote from an old podcast I remember watching about Halo 4, "It's like this small diamond absolutely covered in shit".
Sums it up, but diamond is diamond after all, just is covered in shit and the cut isn't quite right, but still a diamond

> good gunplay > flinch
pick one
You do realise if you play H2A then 4 there's really not much of a leap except the addition of sprint and new abilities? The gunplay was best in 2 and 4 does well to replicate it in many cases

You know depleted Uranium is relatively inexpensive? We were researching it today so that we could design something using an Aluminium-Uranium alloy and put my rather talented artist friend to good use whilst we confused ourselves trying to read a paper by the US Energy and Atomic dep from 1956, cool stuff

You're only 10 years late.

Ok??
Excuse me for being 4 when it came out, I still managed to discover Halo 2 MP at 5 years old and even managed to squeeze in a game before the old XBL went down, back when I got my Arcade in 09

Halo 3 was the highlight of the series. All other Halo games are rubbish in comparison. Halo 2 was the worst game to feature MC and Halo 4 is shortly after it. Halo CE is the second best.
Halo 3 had some of the best visuals and gunplay out of them all. Halo 2 was filled with bugs and hacks and some of the most horrible online latency have ever seen. Halo 3 was the best of the series, Halo CE right behind it. Halo 4 was great in terms of the engine but the gunplay and overall gameplay was almost as bad as Halo 2.
Interesting; I would say 3 had the worst gunplay because of how hollow and useless most weapons felt, playing 2 and 4 gives you a feeling of power but also of vulnerability, kill times against you are very quick.

It's how good the gunplay and graphics are in Halo 4, there I was trying to keep the idea alive that 1,2,3 were far far better than 4, but all the MCC serves to do is highlight the sheer chasm in terms of polish and overall quality. Oh, and H4 isn't so bad when you play it like Halo 2 btw, if you ignore sprint it helps

Is the netcode and BR still shit in Halo 3 MCC?
No, the BR is bearable but piss poor in comparison to 2's and 4's

Replaying it now, Halo 3 was one of the worst.
It hasn't really aged well in 7 years.
You're high, in comparison to H2 it's lightyears ahead
Dat BR spread doe.
True dat, the BR sucks, Halo 2 and Halo 4 had it spot on

Seriously, it's buttery smooth, the lighting is gorgeous, the fact the guns utilise the impulse triggers fixes the original's emptiness and the elimination of the shitty netcode means online is glorious (when the MCC itself works that is). It actually looks better than H2A IMO, whilst the graphics are clearly inferior everything has so much more stuff and the quality and scale of everything is far greater

Well it's not Bungie's fault that Microsoft rushed the release of Halo 2
It's not Microsoft's fault Bungie went nuts with their plan, they tried to make a 5 year game in 3, and tried to put it on a console that really should have been the 360

All it did to me was get me hyped for the next installment. I never thought it was abrupt or out of place.
If that's the message a 12/13 year old got, I feel real sorry for the idiots who didn't get the message.
I can imagine it being good for hype back then, but looking at it now it's rather brutal and feels like Bungie were stopped halfway through and told to ship what they had, which did happen
Can you believe George Bush got re-elected? Crazy stuff mang

I've seen it before, but now that i've beaten Tartarus and actually completed 2, it's dawned on me how utterly abrupt and terrible 2's ending is. For those of you that did it pre-Halo 3; my sympathy lies with you

Halo 3:ODST fixed Bungie's original shitty version of New Mombasa, but you are right. If H2 had done the same as Halo Reach in terms of sheer destruction and exposing you to it then it would have been perfect.
That elevator scene from Reach sticks in my mind strongly to this day
