No, but i've just picked up Alien Isolation and Tales from the Borderlands (season pass) for my X1. I've played Ep1 already, but i'm waiting for Alien to install. Have you played it?

On a scale of Halo 4 to Halo 2, how is Halo 5's gameplay?
Halo 2.75

Only way you could compare it to H4 would be sprint's existence (which is a must really), it plays like H2 and most definitely requires strategy and intelligence over reactions

I have also noticed a glitch or 2 both shown in this picture. My armor auto goes to pink after a game though I'm not sure if it sticks yet. Also my crosshairs from the last game is shown on my character
Same with the armour

That's because people abuse what ever they have available.  If thruster wasn't available people would just throw frags at their feet and run.  It's also under the assumption they'll run into an enemy get killed but more often than not they run back to some friends who clean up the chaser who has low shields from the fight trying to finish a kill.  It slows the game down.

The root problem is, sprint takes you out of combat and you have to use it too keep up with someone using it.
Running back to your teammates? That would be a tactical retreat or an ambush, a valid and effective strategy.

And Sprint is weak, you chase someone until you get a chance to shoot and you do, because their shields don't recharge they can run forever and be vulnerable all that time.

Besides, whilst it's possible to escape, people don't tend to just turn around and run at all

Good god... this place is already turning into the fucking reach forum.

I'm just thankful we don't have connected stats, so people can't do that lovely '2.3k/d? fucking scrublord shut up about the game' routine they do so love.
It's a valid tactic when trying to address those that are objectively inferior at the game
You are what is wrong with gaming forums.
You realise i'm joking right?

It would be silly to use stats like that, it doesn't reflect how they work in a team, their style of play, or which aspects they may excel in or struggle with

Sprinting is useless to escape with by the way, a little spacial awareness and use of the thruster pack can ensure victory in combat no matter what if you are skilled

Both those escapes are due to your lack of speed and the fact you don't utilise the thruster pack, and that you seem unable to use the smart scope. I can guarantee to you that I would have killed those targets easily.
It's clear that it is not useless to escape.  Not everyone is pin point accurate 100% of the time.  The point is, without sprint and thruster, he would have died.  I clearly thrustered after I clambered and by the time I dropped down he sprinted away and I had to deal with his team mate.

And the third you used your abilities, plus the fact they were already disadvantaged in attacking you from their position
Which is my point.  They help in escaping.
Without thruster, exactly. Using sprint alone will get you killed very very quick

Gaming / Re: Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta - My thoughts
« on: December 29, 2014, 09:08:04 PM »

After playing the beta for 8 consecutive hours, I think I've done enough time in to evaluate it for myself. Here we go.

Weapons:

The weapons available so far in the beta seem to be relatively balanced. My only complaint would be about the AR and SMG.

The SMG is overpowering at close range, as it should. However,  it feels like it still is a bit too powerful when your reaching that close/mid range area. I'd turn down the range a bit on the SMG.

The AR as well has a range issue. With the new zoom ability, the AR now seems to have an ability to extend it accuracy well into the mid range territory. Turn it down a bit too.

Abilities

Like the weapons, most abilities seem to be fairly balanced. They do have a small learning curve to them, and can be very useful in battle. I never find my self using them to escape battle however. More on the side of evading to the left instead of strafing to throw my enemy off so I can get in that extra bullet.

Ground pound removes the ability to crouch jump unfortunately, but I never feel the need like I need to crouch jump in the game anyways. Clamber usually takes care of that.

The only ability I seem to have an issue with so far is the shoulder charge. It full shields, this thing is nothing more than a melee. However, if you have lower amount, yet not low enmough to die through a bleed through melee, the shoulder charge will still kill you. My past few games have had a few players who do nothing but shoulder charge. I'd say either nerf it, which kinda defeats the purpose of the attack, or remove it.

The Armor:

343i and Certain Affinity proved that they could design good looking armor in Halo 2 Anniversary? Why are we backtracking back to Halo 4's style? Hopefully it's just a beta design.

The Players:

Due to it being the first day of the beta, the ranking system doesn't really work, since everyone is the same rank mostly. By god, these players are the largest bunch of noobscrubs I have ever played with.

My last 5 games has had either a teammate quit, be afk, or both. Halo is Halo I guess.

Overall, pretty good. The new gametypes look like they will play well.

9/11. Recommend to friends.

EDIT: WHY CAN 3 PROPHET BANE SWORDS BE ON THE MAP AT THE SAME TIME. FIX IT 343.

I disagree on a few things

1. The SMG is a potent beast but can be very easily tamed by constant horizontal moment and suppressive fire, and against the AR and pistol it's useless at anymore than maybe 10m

2. I think the AR range is just right, finally I can use an AR like an AR, with short controlled bursts it means I can lay down suppression to support my teammates

3. Shoulder Charge is stupid, it means I can't do my usual movement->jump->melee assassination/assault thing and is virtually useless unless your target has your back to you, is slightly beyond melee range, is back against the wall or is far of a group. I only use it to stun

4. Dude, FULL BLACK ARMOUR. Not complaining

5. I don't know, i've never been able to play so well, my K/D in the last 20 games (/25) has been something close to 4,  i'm getting over 25 kills and over 10 assists, with below 10 deaths every single time, it's skrubs vs skrubs and it's meaning any decent players carry the team and make themselves look like gods

I give it a 9.5/10. It's just so FUN, it really get's the pulse racing and I can see a superb competitive and of course custom games future for this game.

IMAGINE THE NEW FORGE POSSIBILITIES WITH THESE NEW ABILITIES

One giant slanted tube. First one to groundpound to the bottom gets a point.
Or finally we can have some Halo football (soccer) games, shoulder charge+thruster packs instead of kicking

Considering both Battletoads and Banjo/Kazooie have had their copyrights renewed and Xbox God says Rare have multiple projects going... You may regret those words. Hopefully. Plz

The Wii U is the only console other than my X1 i'd be interested in, i've played Mario Kart 8 and it was really nice, that silly controller tho
Almost everyone left to do their own thing Rare is nothing but a hollow of what it used to be ill still be buying their games but I expect them to be okay or medicore
I don't know, Spencer seems to be building them back up to become Xbox's star studio, like what Bungie used to be.

I really wanna know what's gonna be in the gen 7 pokemon games
Sometimes I wish that Nintendo would go 3rd party so I can play pokemon again. But that would be sad
Unlikely. You can always get a 2ds for $100(about 82 euros) thos
>dollars

Besides, £150 on a DS or £150 on an iWatch? Or maybe the X1 VR?
I just can'y justify spending that much on something that isn't close to cutting edge, or practical
If you spend £150 on a DS you are a complete mug.
You can get a 3DS in good condition for £60-70 if you buy it second hand. £80-100 new. If you go with the XL then yeah that'll be more.
I'll pass on the headaches thanks, and the 3DS is a horrific piece of hardware, I remember using it when it came out and I disliked it strongly
