Halo Wars must have been the only RTS you've played
Ignoring RUSE, Supreme Commander 2, EndWar and Commandos 2 (All of those on console), yes

And whilst i'd say Halo Wars is best overall, RUSE was absolutely brilliant, it's one of my top 360 games ever

The best console RTS is EndWar.

To bad Ubisoft has decided to rape it by giving us a fucking MOBA instead of a real sequel.
EndWar was so shit, RUSE and Supreme Commander 2 were both better by a very, very long way

Gaming / Re: Would you play a remake of Diamond/Pearl?
« on: January 12, 2015, 03:01:03 AM »
Yes, it was the best gen, but tbh i'd rather see a Platinum remake as it was Diamond+Pearl+New shit, the Battle frontier was amazing, and it was just a far better version of Diamond and Pearl

I do a lot of football, and sports in general so, plus they're comfy as hell and really adaptable

Avatar 2 and 3 are coming out soon enough, judging off the first one the CG should be mind-blowing
Live actors with green screen
Na'vi ma nigga, and the live actors are so heavily CG'd anyways they are basically just convenient canvases for some guy on a computer to digitally paint

I'd like to know your guys opinions on Dying Light, which releases on the 30th of this month. It's a game i've been interested in from it's announcement, I loved the original Dead Island and I thought Riptide was solid, but disappointing. Now I know that Dead Island 2 will be releasing this year too, but really it's Dying Light that is the true sequel to Dead Island, DL takes everything great about DI and throws in a parkour system, truly open world, a unique Day/Night system (and the addition of that watch, that omnipresent reminder of the need to survive gives off some serious Metro vibes, one of my favourite series) and amazing graphics. I've got a feeling it will slip under the radar a little, but what do you guys think about it?

I never realised the difference in terminology between the US and UK, indicators become turn signals, full beam becomes brights, huh
What do you call your whippers?
Window wipers?

« on: January 11, 2015, 09:28:15 AM »
It already happens to an extent here in the UK, certainly local businesses put money into the local schools or at least organise events, competitions and extra-curricular activities. Most secondary schools are already tied to and sponsored by universities, my school is part of the Chichester University group of academies for example, and in term we are also partnered with Churcher's grammar school, who are linked to a College in London who are in turn a feeder to Oxford and Cambridge.

It's not really much of a leap from Unis and a small contingent of businesses to a more equal contribution, both parties have a vested interest in cultivating a well-educated population at Secondary school level

.It plays like a Halo game, no arguments
But it doesn't.
Have you actually spent time playing the beta?
No but you would have to be an idiot to think it plays entirely like a Halo game. I'm not saying it sucks, it's just doesn't play like a Halo game. I'm not of those people that's against change but I value keeping a game to it's core mechanics whilst improving in other areas which don't take away from the original experience.
How can you possibly comment on how it plays when you haven't played it? That's just silly, really.

« on: January 09, 2015, 05:00:11 PM »

I know it's not popular opinion but I really disliked Bioshock infinite, I found the gameplay really boring, especially having just finished Portal 2 for the umpteenth time it just felt flat and gimmicky with that timeshift/alternate reality stuff
Yeah I can see why, its gameplay is not worth screaming praise. Its its weak link. Especially when compared to the first game. Infinite kept racking up the intensity so much that it drowned out any notion of atmosphere. The first game did this flawlessly! Fights did not happen every two seconds.
I just wanted to explore, not be forced into mindless gunfights that forced me to the element which was below par. The first 20 minutes were fantastic, but it got boring quick
When I first played it at release, I thought everthing was just bullet spongy. Especially the Handyman.
Idk, I just found it boring in most ways and I went back to my other games

To say that the Halo 5 MP is bad is just ignorant and silly

.It has barely any technical issues
.The beta is of supreme quality, especially when you contrast it with every other FPS from the last year
.It plays like a Halo game, no arguments
.The new abilities work, they don't feel like any other game's ideas
.The gametypes are superb, Breakout is brilliant; it's competitive, it's challenging, it's high-intensity and it's total fun
.Which is the key part here, H5 is FUN. Unlike Halo 4, like Halo 2, 3 and Reach finally Halo is a total joy to play again, whilst still being challenging
