Wait, are people still excited for this game? After they told us that there was effectively no multiplayer, I just assumed that this game took a massive (and much needed) blow to it's hype train.

[Genuine question tho]
I'm excited for the concept, i'm hoping that by the time it releases on X1 they'll have improved upon the first release version. Or alternatively if it's shit I don't care whether it comes to X1 or not-i'll probably be busy in Elite-Dangerous when it comes out around that time anyways

I think it's a bit ambitious to say there's billions of planets and shit, though. Destiny had a 500mil budget and only has like 5 locations. I find it really hard to believe that this indie dev team can do better than Bungie did.

But I'm probably wrong or ignorant with my outdated information.
Random generation, Minecraft is proof that it's possible on such a scale and the only difference with NmS is that it uses proper 3D models rather than cubes. And HelloGames has a lot of quality talent to draw on, the area is filled with devs and students. Hell, I live 30 minutes away and I know people nearby with the level of talent required.

Besides, Destiny is a blatant cash-grab whereas NmS started out because a few local lads wanted to challenge themselves and do something interesting, not to get rich.

Gaming / Re: What do you guys think about Evolve?
« on: February 01, 2015, 05:46:29 PM »
The gameplay is superb, just as Titanfall's. Titanfall being the central theme to Evolve, that it's a full-priced half-game, you can already smell the bullshit with only 10-15 characters, no real campaign and no real customisation plus the fact half the content is going to be released as dlc

IDARB is pretty good.
I played it with some friends today, as well as a couple of hours solo, and it was so fucking fun-reminds me of Battleblock theatre (which is brilliant)

The PS+ games aren't a whole lot better, and you know for certain that the first AAA games to come out on it are going to be the ones that were panned.

._______.

I just stopped giving a shit/hoping for anything worthwhile to turn up on it, when it does it does but for now just expect indieshit with the odd decent one.
Play #IDARB, it's pretty bloody amazing. Especially with friends

I love how none of you can fucking read. The news wasn't Hoth you idiots, it was that they have multiple Hoth maps rather than the traditional one Hoth map of old
I think you might be reading too much into it. This is Gamespot, after all.

Although I'd be pleasantly surprised if there were multiple Hoth maps.
It's a quote from the guy they are interviewing rather than Gamespot, the interview is the same on IGN too.

Technically it'd be #IDARB (the free X1 game, which is fucking nuts btw) but really it'd be Far Cry 4. Although i'm looking to download Dying Light soon

I play football, LB and CDM, in the Mid-Solent league-we've hammered Gosport's youth team 11-2 recently and i'm looking to continue football well into and Uni.

I'm a Pompey and Celtic supporter, which automatically makes me superior

I can appreciate a good CDM
Good to hear, I must admit that i'm treated well-there is a real shortage of defenders and defensive-midfielders in England right now at all levels so i'm pretty much guaranteed a place at any of the local teams.

I actually played CDM for a bit but it became obvious I had better uses on offense, I had a knack for scoring goals. Also having a good amount of speed and dribble ability made me a good candidate.

If you play CDM you can basically play any defending role. So your set
Yup, i'm also an effective left winger due to my experience at LB and the fact I have superb passing skill. It's the one thing i'm not humble about, i'm perfectly aware I can link play very well-I have size 13 feet so I can play any type of ball first time, it's taken me a long time to gain the ability to to do though, I used to be a pretty shitty player tbh

playable locations on the icy planet Hoth

Does this mean multiple maps based off the Battle of Hoth? Previous Battlefront games have condensed it all into a single map, so i'm interested to see the meaning of this statement. Thoughts?

The Flood / Re: Moving to dorms for university vs staying at home
« on: January 29, 2015, 05:23:10 PM »

Depends on your dorm mate.  My friend has had shitty ones so far, consisting of a weirdo who would sex up fat girls on his bed and a douche bro.  You could get someone cool or be by yourself though.
Most dorms in the UK are single bed rooms, the only thing you share with others is a kitchen and a bathroom if you don't opt for a room with an en suite.
That doesn't sound that bad actually.  Just learn to cook some food nigga and slay that pussy.
Lived alone from 16 to 19 my nig, cooking is easy. grilled chicken and rice errday

Have you decided where you want to go to Uni yet? I remember you contemplating both Portsmouth and London
Yup, I've got offers from both so as long as I get the grades then the choice between the 2 cities will be up to me.
Well if you live in London now and choose Pompey then obviously it'd be difficult to live at home during Uni, and a dorm or your own place would be best. Portsmouth isn't exactly the priciest place either, so you'd get decent value, and parts of the city are quite nice.

Gaming / Halo 5 Story Predictions?
« on: January 29, 2015, 04:52:06 PM »
Humanity is on the brink of extinction. The Flood, "Prometheans" and the fragmented Covenant have joined forces to eradicate the last of Humanity.

After losing almost all of their strongholds, the UNSC is pushed back to it's last: Earth.

Hoping to save the human race, Master Chief journeys to the edge of the galaxy and beyond in search of the last true Forerunners. Upon arriving, John is shocked. It turns out they all died quite some time ago. On the bright side, they had left behind even more advanced technology than what the Prometheans had at their disposal.

Amongst these relics is a new Cryptum protoype, which is far larger and more versatile than anything the Forerunners built before. Believing this Cryptum to be Humanity's last hope, John travels back to Earth in an attempt to fend off the Promethean/Flood/Covenant forces.

In cahoots with The Arbiter, Master Chief learns that this new Cryptum is capable of generating a "force-field" of sorts that is strong enough to protect against the Halo Array itself! Unfortunately, this requires an extremely specific activation gene-sequence. Luckily, thanks to the Librarian AI's genetic mutation of the Master Chief in Halo 4, Chief now possesses said sequence.

After a devastating attack against Humanity, the majority of the planet has been glassed, save a few countries in South-West Europe.

Sacrificing himself and the majority of the galaxy in an attempt to end the war, Thel activates the array, forcing John to use the force field. Upon activation, John learns that this would kill him and would only save a very small portion of the earth from the blast. Force to pick a city and finally end his life, Master Chief makes his stand. In his final moments, John thinks to himself whilst looking down at his chosen City.

"This is it. The last safe city."

As the final blast of the Halo Array cleanses earth, Humanity's "Golden Age" has ended. The Flood's reign of Darkness has been repulsed. And that was the end of everything.

But it was also a beginning.
