Serious / Re: Let's say a death clock is created
« on: March 02, 2016, 06:50:51 PM »
What use is it if it changes in accordance with your actions?
Let's say you want to test it so you're gunna shoot yourself.
If it recognizes that you are poised to shoot yourself and adjusts itself to less than a few minutes, but didn't already have it set to such a short time before, then it failed to account for how you would naturally react to it (wanting to test it).

The timer could reflect the pure chance that the gun goes off pointed at your head by accident. Say you stood in the middle of a road, if you watched the timer and waited for it to count down, the end result is some distracted or drunk driver plows into you. Or you got on a 3 hour plane flight and your timer dropped to 2 hours... uh oh.

I dunno what I'd do, I don't think I'd look at it tbh. Ducktape the watchface, leave it in my cupboard, and be one of the "edgy" dudes who doesn't know when they'll die.

You'd get plenty of reactions similar to Futurama's Deathclock

"Ooh, Ooh, Dibs on his TV!"

17 would be my lowest consideration, but I'd still feel bad about it.

As for the max range... well, if someone can be 50 and still look fine like some celebrities seem to, I don't think I'd be too distracted by the age.

Nobody is asking the important question; What level of meme teir bad will the tacked on Campaign be? And will we get a character worse than Irish?

Since BF3 it's been expected that the campaign will be shit / MW2-level "THE COMMIES ARE BAD"-type.

Just modified to include Plug.DJ. Currently it's got some people, so give it a trial run if you want. Same rooms, sorta* same account if you can remember the password

*folks are having issues with accounts linked with Facebook, as in they don't exist anymore. Log in at your risk or create a new account.

Yay! Now people can spam more threads about it!

Because that's totally what this entire thread is for

The Flood / Re: Street smarts vs school smarts...
« on: March 01, 2016, 06:54:05 AM »
Book smart over street smart.

Sure having both would be nice, but it's easier to pick up on street smarts after a few mistakes than it is to learn the "basic" principles of a certain subject well after a young age.

E.g. How to use geophysical properties to find oil and other important resources. Also, knowing what geophysics is, and a few "basic" principles. Can't really do that from common sense or knowledge of street scams (or whatever street smarts give you).

How have you been here for a day and not seen the n-word yet?

We have the occasional SJW hate thread every so often when tumblr or students or whoever the fuck accidentally limits free speech with their extreme views somewhere.

Safe to say, we are far from it. The only stuff that gets actively enforced is stuff that breaks the law (Loli avatars, CP, Doxxing, etc).

MW2. OMA/DC w/ Noobtubes was considered a perfectly viable playstyle, as was Riot Shield/C4 or a FAL w/ shotgun rounds. There was so many "OP" combos that they could contend with each other, compared to one OP combo like in W@W (MP40 w/ Juggernaught) or BF3 (AA-12 w/ frag rounds, pre patch).

God I enjoyed that game... until I was being spawn killed for a Nuke. Then it was the shittest most bullshit game ever.

England 21-10 Ireland

:^)

I don't need this negativity in my life.

Anywho, Tables and Match Results updated, to my dissapointment. On the plus side, I made 50p betting against a friend that Italy is worse than Scotland at Rugby :)

"I'm literally a slave to my own Self."

"Atheists", everybody.
I genuinely don't know what the fuck you're trying to say.
Literally being such a slave to your basic instincts that you find the notion of abstaining from sex ridiculous.

Sure, because Atheists can't abstain because they have no reason to, right?

It's funny how Christian abstainers are seen as these stable people just waiting and it's "cute", while Atheist abstainers are seen as "Eurgh, 30 year old basement virgins".

have corporations finally figured out how to make memes?

I strongly believe this is the case.

The future is not a good one when Pepe's will be promoting Coke and McDonald's Tendies come on the menu.

Dem Feels will be promoting Calvin Klien underpants or some other such nonsense.

Sports are not my thing and they tend to bore me easily, but I just wanted to pop in and say I admire your formatting of this thread. You put a lot of effort into it, so I found you a gif. This one made me giggle.

I didn't even notice the hot-potato ball the first time around, what with the number 2 just not knowing how to tackle that massive hairy welshman.

6 Nations results and tables will be updated tomorrow.

Tomorrow because I'm grieving over today's awful, awful results.

EDIT: Shit, just found out the actor who played this guy^ died today. This weekend just isn't Ireland's, is it.

Hahahaha.

-Bolt-actions OHK'ing. You'd have more variety in pistols and revolvers than primary weapons.
-No vehicles of any sort (unless you count horses, and "Tanks" that were near useless.
-Static maps to reflect the trenches
-No macro/micro destruction because everything is alreasy destroyed or mud.

Already dissapointed and HIGHLY doubtful before it's out.

Blimps, planes, experimental tanks up the asshole, motorcycles, horses, armoured cars, armoured personnel carriers, and mobile artillery.

Great, so transport and reconnaissance vehicles then. Not exactly combat worthy, eh?

And don't get me started in SPG's. The unbalance among those things is retarded for a supposedly "dynamic" game, it just reinforces the static movements of battle.

I know a few people passing that around, unironically. What the fuck is funny about it?

Blobo is better:

I think I've figured it out, it's basically a shitty way to spread advertising through memes, and for stupid people, it's worked.

Serious / Re: What is your thoughts about inclusive teaching practices?
« on: February 27, 2016, 07:01:12 AM »
In the UK you have separate areas for the disabled kids to learn at whatever pace, and kids depending on whether they were good or bad at the subject got split into groups.

E.g. Set 1 was the kids getting 70%/A's, Set 4 was those who were struggling to get D's/40%.

It was kinda ok, but if you got put in a set you were stuck there until you miraculously improved by yourself (as the Sets meant teachers just taught slowly, and couldn't just be taught your way to Set 1), or made a fuss.

For example, I was decent at Welsh (went into the first language class), but the second I went under 50% in a test because the teacher decided to teach only in Welsh I got sent to the lower set where I learnt nothing and passed the course with little effort (the sets were tied to the exam papers;  if you got into lower sets, the papers got easier but the max grade also lower, I got the highest mark, a C for Welsh).

My brother nearly had the same shit pulled in him in Maths and got placed with retards, but he complained... still had to sit in for a fucking year to do a test and PROVE it was too easy, not as if the teachers could see it in him themselves...

In Ireland I don't quite know, but in Prinary school if you did bad, you were just held back a year until you did learn.

Reminds me of my art ideas.

I have the perfect image of what I want in my head, but:

-I can't draw it myself that well without a reference image (which with some of my ideas, is not posible)
-I can't describe it perfectly to have someone else do it either, plus they'd have their own tinge of the art style/design which wouldn't be mine.
