Ensemble did a great job at keeping the Universe familiar with the characters, themes, and soundtrack, despite the game being nothing like the previous games. This is something 343 can't seem to get right, whether is Halo 4, 5, or the Spartan Assault games.
Just curious, what themes?
Music, art style. The militaristic feel, the mysterious forerunner feel. a few examples.

That last one shouldn't even be on the list. At least 343 made themselves known for killing the series. The only thing Ensemble killed was themselves with their watered down insult of an RTS title.
How dare you! Halo Wars felt like a true Halo game, & was within the limitations set by Bungie. I basically consider it a Bungie game. Tho I added it for a semi-neutrality option.

If there's one thing I respect in the new doom, it looks fucking brutal and gory as hell. As for whether or not the level design will live up to the grand design of atmosphere and puzzles of the original remains to be seen. Am I expecting there to be some shortcomings which keep the game from it's potential? Yes, I don't have faith in games that are made for a general and public audience. What I do respect though is that the game is willing to put so much violence up into your face, which is good. If there's anything I would want from DOOM is it be the most balls to the wall game it can possibly be, it has a precedent to uphold, in this day and age of so much competition and forerunners.
I can't wait for Doom, the Alpha was fucking awesome!

Yeah, I was finding games pretty quickly.
Maybe I should reset my router then. It was around 6 PM EST, would think there'd be a decent amount online at that time.
Resetting your router won't fix the networking problems inherent in MCC, I have to wait from 2 minutes> 6 > 30mins sometimes. The game is a mess
