Serious / Would people stop complaining about Feminism/PC?

Is it true that Females are being granted a higher class than men in the Western world? Well it certainly looks that way, and while there is a damn lot of resistance against this, all people ever do is complain in Videos, comments or forums - Which is effectively useless.
Want to know how Feminists are winning? They are campaigning, petitioning, lobbying their representatives, they are actually acknowledging Democracy, which makes perfect sense as to why these laws are being passed.

So would people stop complaining about it?

They have won already...

I wasn't gonna post this to Sep7, hence it's lacking quality. B.net has lower standards.

What are your views on censorship? Is it fine under certain circumstances, or wrongs as it limits basic rights?

Personally I think it's wrong.

Japan’s record on women’s rights to face review by UN Committee
GENEVA (10 February 2016) – Japan’s record on women’s rights will be examined by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) on 16 February. Japan has ratified the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and so is reviewed regularly by the Committee on how it is implementing the Convention.
Among the possible issues for discussion between CEDAW and a delegation from the Japanese Government are: Banning the sale of video games or cartoons involving sexual violence against women; employment equality, illegal dismissal of women due to pregnancy and childbirth; sexual harassment in the workplace; reintegration into school textbooks of issue of “comfort women”; compensation for women with disabilities sterilised against their will; effect on women, particularly pregnant women, of health programmes introduced after the Fukushima nuclear disaster; difference in pension benefits for men and women, poverty among older women.

Japanese Response - We are absolutely in agreement that the protection of the rights of women in Japan is important. On the other hand, we think it should be carefully and seriously evaluated whether the measures taken to ensure those protections are valid ones or not. If we are asked to consider whether "Protecting Women's Rights in Japan" requires us to "Ban the Sale of Manga and Video Games Depicting Sexual Violence," then we must reply that that is an absolute "no."
Reasons for Our Opinion:
Reason #1 - The so-called sexual violence in manga and video games is a made-up thing and as such does not threaten the rights of actual people; therefore, it is meaningless in protecting the rights of women.
Reason #2 - In Japan, and especially when it comes to manga, these are creative fields that women themselves cultivated and worked hard by their own hand to create careers for themselves. If we were to "ban the sale of manga that includes sexual violence," it would do the opposite and instead create a new avenue of sexism toward women.
Detailed Explanation of Reasons:
About Reason #1 - It goes without saying that the -blam!- and other crimes of actual real people who experience sexual acts from partners without consent is an actual violation of their rights concerning sexual violence and should obviously be forbidden by law, and that it's necessary to protect and support victims. However, the figures in manga and video games are creative fictions that do not actually exist, and thus this is not a violation of any real person's human rights. We should focus on attacking the problems that affect real women's human rights as quickly as possible.
About Reason #2 - ... Already in the 70s there were women-focused manga magazines and many talented women manga writers came from them
Among the manga for women in our country, there were titles that took up the history of women's sexual exploitation and slavery. "The Cliff For Those Would Be Parents" by Fumiko Sone was one such work. Against the backdrop of the real history, it is a work that paints the life of a girl who lived in poverty and was sold into service as a prostitute for Bakusai Harem in Hokkaido's Muroran, and how she lives through the experience.
For the people who live in these times, it is manga like this that creates an opportunity for people to imagine the pain of women living in that era. However, because this work contains depictions of sexual violence, if we employed on a ban on the sale of "manga that depicted sexual violence," it would go out of print and eventually people would lose that chance.
.... (Note that while both listed works contain sexual violence toward men, sexual violence is not a problem limited to only women, and therefore should not be treated as exclusively a women's rights issue.)
In this way, it can be predicted that if we were to ban the sale of "manga that depicts sexual violence," a great deal of publishers would cease publication of a huge amount of works. In the creative field of manga, the effect would be that women who have worked so hard to create a place for vibrant careers would have that place shrink right in front of them, as well as have their efforts negated. In addition, if we were to put ourselves in the places of manga readers the chance to know about the history of the sexual exploitation of women would be lost and method for them to come to know about it. If the creative fields of manga were attacked, trampled on and destroyed with such prejudice, it would damage not only the women manga writers, but also spread to other women creators in the field, as well as the female readers. This would be a sexist punishment that only narrows the career possibilities of Japan's women.
It is noted that on the other hand when it comes to "manga that depicts sexual violence" a certain segment of people are going to find it unpleasant. Nevertheless, to ban expression and commerce unilaterally based on feelings of whether or not something is unpleasant, or viewpoints on what should be moral, is a practice not to be condoned. The basis for feelings about what is or is not repulsive, and moral viewpoints, will differ based on the individual or their region and that culture's segmented local society.
There is nothing to be gained from regulating fictional sexual violence. However, while you're trying to fix the rights of fictional characters, you're leaving the human rights of real women in the real world left to rot. As well, in Japan, the entire reason we have a media genre such as manga that developed to take on themes such as the sexual exploitation of women came from an attitude to tolerate "drinking the pure and the dirty without prejudice." It's because we had the freedom to express our views and with that to express the view of a world of humans that live and die, that there are pure and wonderful things and dirty and nasty things mixed with each other.
Manga is a field where women have put in their hard work and effort to cut forward paths and cultivate a place of their own. We believe that in order to protect this place from being trampled on, it will need our continued hard work to pass it on to the next generation, and it is this effort that will link to the greater freedom and rights of women.

This was only the latest attempt by the UN to censor Anime/Manga for the sake of "Women's Rights". They have being trying for years and will continue. But it is misguided, their actions will only cause harm to women in Japan and censor mediums displaying eras where society was wrong. The UN would rather have real women rot while targeting fictional depictions of women is just wrong, and shows how corrupt an backwards the UN really are. If the Community ignores this, Japan will consistently be pressured censor their culture, to change for the sake of the West.

TL;DR - UN would rather have real women suffer just so they can censor anime/manga cause some people are "offended". And if the ban were to be applied, Japanese women would be worse off, having their accomplishments over the years made worthless, being put of occupations, and another avenue of sexism.

- Some of yous probably already know about teh UN attacks, but Flee suggested to post it.

It works fine everyday, but about 7 hours ago after I installed Fallout 4, it has gone to hell. The Download for the DLC is literally taking forever, and it's only 5 GB. I can't even watch Youtube/Apps without it freezing every 2 minutes. Any solutions? I've reset it, but nothing, I have no idea what brought on this change. No one else is using Internet in the house. The download speed is at 0.09 for some reason.

The Flood / Spoiler Game of Thrones (Ep8 Spoilers) Issue.

I just realized a plot hole. It's fact that Jon knows the white Walkers are coming, he's seen them and they need people for the War. With Brienne being in the same camp with jon and the Wildlings/Rangers it is likely she was told about the threat and how they need help. She goes all the way down to RiverRun where there are 3 ARMIES - Tully, Frey and Lannisters, hmm, what would be a good way to get the Lannisters to back down from the Siege, what would be a good way to get the Tullies to leave their Castle... If she had just mentioned that, I'm sure the Blackfish would of went with them and took his army, which Jamie even said they could leave, and I wouldn't be surprised if she managed to persuade Jamie as well. But no... This is actually annoying me now, the Writing has degraded lately.

The Flood / 11 States sue over public school Transgender Directive
« on: May 26, 2016, 05:40:14 PM »
11 states have sued the U.S. government over the Justice Department's directive that forces public schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that align with their gender identity. The states include Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maine, Arizona, Louisiana, Utah and Georgia.
The Department of Education is also involved. It threatened to withhold billions in federal education funding if schools did not comply with the "anti-discriminatory" policies.

Gaming / Halo: Reach - Review - By me
« on: May 09, 2016, 09:04:44 AM »
Halo: Reach is a first-person shooter video game set in the Halo universe and direct prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, depicting the Fall of Reach

The Graphics were quite stunning, and still hold up fine to this day. There is lots of detail, parallels with it's unique and enthralling art style. I still don't get all the praise for Halo 4, considering how good Reach's graphics were, the only difference in 4* was the blue and orange neon lights everywhere.

Reach is a well polished FPS, that offers the classic Halo gameplay, with the addition of Armor Abilities. You can still noob combo, but while Jetpacking or evading like a bitch. There is a skill gap, which players can overcome if they put some effort in. Learning when to engage in a firefight, or what weapon to use.
Controls are tight, really. There are multiple control options for all types of players. Having played clunky games like R6 Vegas 2, Reach is a refreshing sight.

Reach takes place on the UNSC fortress world, just weeks prior to Halo: Combat Evolved. Noble Team, a squad of Spartan III supersoldiers, is ordered by Colonel Urban Holland to investigate the sudden loss of transmission from the Visegrád Relay Outpost. Expecting Rebels, the team is shocked to discover that it is the work of the Covenant, and an invasion becomes apparent. As the Covenant begin their assault on the planet, the UNSC begin their heroic yet hopeless attempt to halt the Covenant onslaught.

There is also a super awesome space mission, where the Player gets to control a Longswo*sniped*, the player gets to pilot a Sabre, which is pretty damn awesome, taking down space banshees, seraphs, phantoms, disabling a Covie Corevette is an experience I'l never forget.

Multiplayer is all the rage these days, Reach certainly is. It's matchmaking system is simple and works great. - Having faster mm than modern games like Destiny, MCC. The Ranking system has also been redesigned from Halo 3; instead of having experience Rank and Skill Rank as two separate features, Halo: Reach combines these two into a credit system where the player is scored on how well they play in each individual performance, instead of a win/loss system - unfortunately this has been flawed since release, as Credit for player effort is not rewarded. As players gain credits, they are able to buy armor pieces to customize their Spartans and Elites character model. A new matchmaking system called the Arena is introduced for hardcore/competitive players - Which is just a petty substitution for the ranked play in Halo 3. - Where players will take part in month-long seasons and be put into divisions ranging from Onyx to Iron, depending on how well they play. Along with this, Players can now search Online for campaign missions.

- The multiplayer mode features standard multiplayer gametypes such as Slayer, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, as well as introducing the ultimate mode - Rocket Race.  Firefight mode, a cooperative hordemode that was made present in Halo 3: ODST, is featured in Halo: Reach with much more customizable features, from the skulls that turn on every round to the very enemies the player will face every wave, as well as having Matchmaking support. Halo: Reach also introduces new gametypes to multiplayer such as Invasion, Stockpile, and Headhunter. Since we are Spartan III's in Reach, the character models differs significantly than their previous architecture in Halo 3. The Elite character models are formidably larger, and physically superior, having faster shield regeneration and has advantages over Spartans such as faster shield regen and Health regen. as a result of this, only specific gametypes in matchmaking allow Spartans and Elites to face each other in team-based games.

- Armor Abilities make Reach a lot funner than previous entries because of the bizarre, new experiences players can have when engaging each other now. Tricking a scumbag sniper with your hologram, then taking him out silently, reigning terror from above, spamming dat armor lock if anyone tries to splatter you, and the bubble shield had some improvements; such as health regen and is no longer pickup-able. The Designated Marksman Rifle *DMR* replaces the legendary Battle Rifle, and it can be said that the DMR is far more deadly due to the range implications, yet not overpowered in close/mid quarters like the BR was. Assassinations were also introduced, which provide new gruesome ways to take players down! The Revenant was some nice fan service for fans of the long gone Spectre, which was more team based, but I guess a semi-Wraith isn't that bad. Unfortunately bloom was introduced with reach, which pisses a lot of people of, while reasonable people can deal with it, many veterans were put of by this. Another strike was that Armor Abilities are given to the player at the start of the game, rather than fighting an enemy for it, which only hurts their reputation.

Ah, yes. Achievements... Reach has quite a few difficult ones, like jumping off the cliff to assassinate an Elite, without dying, or doing Solo Legendary - especially with scum Elites who hide after being shot once. And if you magically lose all your progress, and have to start from scratch again.
There are some really nice and fun multiplayer cheevos to get, however the DLC ones can only be attained through boosting because the maps will only load up if everyone has the DLC.

Reach introduced me to Halo multiplayer, to FPS multiplayer and I have a lot to thank this amazing game for, while I had tried Halo 3, if you were new - you were blown back miles away. While it may have it's drawbacks, it's awesomeness overcomes them.
