The Flood / Re: Who remembers the Nokia Lumia 1020?« on: September 15, 2021, 05:09:21 AM »I just remembered something I haven't thought off in years:I believe bungie had cut ties with microsoft following the release of Halo 3 in '07, and continued to develop the Halo series as per the terms of their spinoff agreement. Microsoft owned the IP and bungie worked on it independently, whereas before bungie owned the IP and microsoft owned them. 63

Are you legit a chef or in the food business or something?a lot of what I've been doing for the last few years is training interns from culinary schools pretty much any time I do line work it's in that capacity, and I focus on catering at other times right now I'm training some interns from Louisiana, but I've also had students who came to the US on J1 visa from all over eastern Europe, China, and South America 78

Are you legit a chef or in the food business or something? As someone who has apprenticed in a 2-star Michelin restaurant, this is pretty good. Mashed taters of this quality (no matter how good they might look AND HOLY FUCK DO THEY) wouldn't pass though, just by appearance and texture. I've worked at a lot of other resorts and private clubs all over the country, in addition to fine dining. The potatoes are the way I like them, not the way I would prepare them for service, so I definitely agree with what you're saying there. btw I only took a pic for the fried egg because it had two yolks lol 79

The Flood / Re: ive never understood the term “nsfw”« on: July 19, 2021, 02:47:32 AM »
the term dates back to when computers were less ubiquitous in our lives and people who needed to work with a computer and an internet connection could realistically do anything they wanted as long as their work was done
it's difficult to compare being one of a handful of guys in the office who actually needed to be online in the late 90s against dicking around on your phone in the modern workplace 82
The Flood / Re: Converse or Vans?« on: May 23, 2021, 06:03:13 AM »
actually a tough choice
the only canvas shoes I wear these days are a pair of Tom's for around the house or just when I'm in a hurry, but back in the day I alternated between converse hi-tops and vans authentics pretty frequently I picked converse though because even though I think that I'd be more attracted to a pair of authentics today, I definitely owned a lot more chucks through the years, maybe even twice as many pairs 83

The Flood / Re: How have you changed since Sep7 began?« on: May 09, 2021, 09:10:50 AM »
I have gone through a lot in the last seven years.
I was going through a really hard time when sep7agon was started, my family was falling apart, my parents were struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, and most of the time it felt like they were taking out all their pain and anger on me. Things only got worse after I finished high school, and I struggled with some more minor substance abuse issues of my own, which were at times exacerbated by poor relationship decisions. A few years ago I finally started getting my shit together, and now I have a mostly normal life and a decent, somewhat fulfilling career as a chef. In this time I've lived in seven different states. Tomorrow, I'm starting another new job at a casino where I'll be in a supervisory position in one of their food venues. Here's what I looked like at the beginning of 2014 ![]() And this morning ![]() As you can see I'm much less blurry than before. 86

I have to pick it up on Wednesday, so it would cost more to fly. It would also take just as long, if not longer because all the flights have layovers in DFW. you must really love the guyI don't know about that, we like each other well enough and have been living together for about a year, but two people don't really need to be head over heels in love with each other to do nice things for one another. He's been trying to get me a 3070 since my birthday, but hasn't been able to get his hands on one. I'm about a month late snagging the ps5 for his, but we're both decently patient ig. 88

I'm grateful to have been able to get one at all, but seriously, fuck scalpers. 89
