yeah, it seems like discord has started eliminating many forums of our nature

I come back from time to time to see if there are any topics of interest, or to ask questions that I feel require extended discussion, which is an advantage forums have over instant messaging, but for the most part, I guess we should all just be grateful that Cheat sees this place as worthwhile to keep around as a sort of resume project

although we have slowed in activity, many of us are still present, and although we have said most of what any of us will ever want to say to each other in this format, we can still communicate in this way when we need to

I think, that in this natural evolution there is no sorrow, rather a beauty

also I blame verb ban him immediately

I ran into a few locked chests early on and came back later after finding the quest that got you the key. I haven't actually come across any of those though, guessing it's because I didn't spend much or any time looting houses. There's a lot of items in the world that say locked if you can't do anything with them, like alphy said.

Interestingly, I've got a huge collection of ported witcher 3 models. Never saw that chest in those files either. Not that it means anything, just weird that I sunk a solid month into that game and never bumped into those.
they appear in almost every boss room and at the end of almost every quest as well, for example there's one in avallach's lab, a dirty one on the island near Aki's remains, one at the top of the tower you go to for the white lady quest, etc

they're literally everywhere
this one is on your way back out of the var Attre's house after giving Rosa a fencing lesson

they seem placed strategically to reward you for completing quests a la borderlands, but if nobody knows anything about opening them maybe CDPR decided to just cut that and didn't bother removing them from the game, or intentionally left them in because they knew it would upset me  >:(

No amount of searching has yielded any results, I can't even find a name for these things, nobody seems to have anything to say about them.

What is the deal with these locked chests that are EVERYWHERE.

Does anyone know anything at all?
Are they just here to drive me crazy?

Hearing the story of a civilian in the US being tried and sentenced to death by a military court is deeply disturbing, beyond any regard to the crime he committed.
that was 30 words
who gives a shit
i don't think anyone "gives a shit" that you can't follow basic instructions, per se, but that doesn't change the fact, nor does it make it any less funny to point out (only makes it funnier, really—but then you'd need a sense of humor)
okay

I have a similar opinion about gluttony as you have about lust.

It's disgusting and I hate it, but it's beyond doubt the sin I find most indulgent.

Just for uploading some songs and footage that he deleted in the end when they sent him a cease and desist?
Not exactly.

Here's what happened, more or less.
So, the songs leaked and Marty decided to upload them since they were already out and there's no official way to hear his music.
Bungie sends him a cease and desist, tells him they're going to release the songs themselves, and Marty does the right thing and decides to take them down.
Then, Bungie releases the songs as bonus content available exclusively with the Destiny vinyl soundtrack, which was available only in limited quantities.
Marty said fuck it and reuploaded the songs since obviously there's still no way to listen to them officially except on a fucking record.

I don't really care about the fact that bungie was legally in the right or that Marty knew this would end up happening. They fucked him coming and going and this is obviously about spite, not money.

The Flood / Re: Who remembers the Nokia Lumia 1020?
« on: September 15, 2021, 05:09:21 AM »
I just remembered something I haven't thought off in years:

The official BUNGiE app (before it become know as "Destiny") was only available for iOS and Android since 2009.

BUNGiE still had ties with Microsoft back then yet there app wasn't available for Windows Phone?
I believe bungie had cut ties with microsoft following the release of Halo 3 in '07, and continued to develop the Halo series as per the terms of their spinoff agreement.

Microsoft owned the IP and bungie worked on it independently, whereas before bungie owned the IP and microsoft owned them.

Yee
The whole Lumia line had great cameras.

And ran windows phone. Man that was a great OS.
man it really was, I clung to it until they officially stopped pushing security updates

the only problem with the platform was nobody was developing for it

Would I be wrong to assume everyone who posts here is NOT a fan of Apple/iPhone like me?

My choice would be either Google Pixel 5 or Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
I dropped apple like a decade ago, then tried the iPhone 11 for a few months before dropping it again.

Got a galaxy s21 now

I'm honestly seeing so much connection between what's happening now and the onset of WW2. Jihad rule is the next Nazi rule. Fascists are fascists, no matter how you dress it up. Godwin's Law or not,  we are on the brink of another crisis here. There's an Axis in the Middle East!!! Do people not see this?

If you still need credibility from me
I called the trump coup in November, months before the January insurrection happened. I also saw the warning signs as early as September. Take what I'm saying seriously please. This almost makes me want to write or get involved or something. I've been wasting time on media when serious shit is going down.
but there's already a racially exclusive ethnostate that is murdering children and committing any genocides it needs to in order to make their country culturally pure

it's called Israel

Tfw no sol gf to cook for you when you get home from your job at the dollar store
Unfortunately I would probably leave for work before you and get home after you lol. I generally start dinner at 11pm and have it ready around 1, depending on what we're having.
What I Made Tonight

As you can see steak and brussel sprouts is a regular thing at my house.

Fair enough. Working at a traditional African place right now, so I'm just used to pushback in regards to opinions. Makes sense as I'm the only white guy. Still kinda sucks when they can concoct some of the best dishes of my life, but scorn momo, poutine, or Lihapullat, alongside other dishes.

Spoiler
First is Nepalese, second Canadian, third Finnish. Tried different tastes.
bruh I make a mean poutine

I make duck confit and add the meat with the cheese curds, using the fat to make the gravy

Don't downplay that Louisiana/Cajun cookin'. Some of the BEST cuisine in the world. Kinda biased as I'm from and have worked in plenty of New Orleans kitchens.  :D

Spoiler
Hopefully you weren't thinking I was similarly downplaying your cooking. Mashed Potatoes are one of my favourite foods, and those were some of the buttery and best I've seen.
oh don't sweat it, I didn't take it that way and knew what you meant

just like I didn't mean to say anything diminutive about Louisiana cooking, I just meant it like, "right now I'm doing this, but I've also done that"

Wow. Seriously good looking pics. Are you legit a chef or in the food business or something?
a lot of what I've been doing for the last few years is training interns from culinary schools

pretty much any time I do line work it's in that capacity, and I focus on catering at other times

right now I'm training some interns from Louisiana, but I've also had students who came to the US on J1 visa from all over eastern Europe, China, and South America

As someone who has apprenticed in a 2-star Michelin restaurant, this is pretty good. Mashed taters of this quality (no matter how good they might look AND HOLY FUCK DO THEY) wouldn't pass though, just by appearance and texture.

If you are a chef Solo, everything else looks pretty excellent. Especially that beef in the first pic. Fat Mmm right there.
Yeah, I work at a country club. We're one of the top 25 in the country and next year we're setting the record for most times to host the PGA championship.

I've worked at a lot of other resorts and private clubs all over the country, in addition to fine dining.

The potatoes are the way I like them, not the way I would prepare them for service, so I definitely agree with what you're saying there.

btw I only took a pic for the fried egg because it had two yolks lol
