and the more we encourage women to take different roles, the more likely these leanings will be bred out over the next several generations.
How about this guy focuses on his job instead of posting a /pol/ tier "manifesto" lmaoGet a life dude how did he even find the time to do this
Quote from: Snake on August 08, 2017, 10:16:02 PMand the more we encourage women to take different roles, the more likely these leanings will be bred out over the next several generations. That's a scary level of social engineering for the government to involve itself with. Freer and more equal countries see greater personality differences and labour market auto-segregation because liberty enables people to express their gender. And here we are, in the freest countries on the planet, fretting that we don't have a female comp student proportion close to countries like fucking Guyana (54%) or Zimbabwe (41%). It's ridiculous.
No, because their sole purpose is to give women or minority groups a way into typically high end corporate jobs that they want but otherwise find pretty inaccessible. If there's no need for quotas in certain fields, there's not going to be any.
I don't see what the government has to do with what you quoted.

I don't see many people (if any at all) mention the lack of males in nursing fields, which is a pretty high end job yet only 10% are males.
Want to know why I'm not trying to be a nurse? Because it doesn't interest me.
Not only is this a shitty PR stunt, but it's another stupid attempt at trying to force a square peg through a round hole. You can start young and train girls to be engineers when they grow up, but can anyone guarantee they'll be happy and that it would what they want?
What's the point of gloating about how many females and minorities are in your tech department if they all hate their job and would've rather done something else in life?
get into field Y but is met with a lot of prejudice and obstacles. Quotas (which I don't even agree with much) can help. Few people in group A want to get into field B and are met with very little resistance when they do try. Quotas are not at all necessary, so they're not used. Apples and pears.
I'd hardly call listening to the complaints of many of your employees and avoiding even more negative PR a "stunt" though. And who's even talking about training young girls or women not being happy in their field? Giving them more opportunities doesn't really harm anyone.
Brilliant deduction. I never realized that men had such homogeneous psyches that your emotional situation can be an accurate description of all men's emotions.
That's what we want to investigate and see if it is possible. Your position seems to be completely dedicated to resisting any attempts at discovery of whether or not that is possible, because if it turns out it is, that would upset the natural order you have delusionally convinced yourself is innate and independent of outside influence.
I don't think there's a single person in this world who advocates pressuring people into industries they do no want to be in. This is where you've entered strawman territory.
Good job missing my point.
What's stopping them from being interested in those fields now other than their own uninterest? They're forced to take math and science regardless, if they have a love for it they'll go into it as they progress through the education system.
You literally just said that men are coerced to be independent earners and that pressures them into high paying careers. This is contradiction territory.
