Personally I didn't like it, but give it a try and see for yourself if you like it, couldn't hurt.

A lot of the campaign was well receioved
No it fucking wasn't.

What he means is is was just well enough received that none of the staff were hanged from their entrails for making it.
They sure as hell hung the Halo franchise by its entrails

And had its corpse paraded throughout the city.

I think it does matter. If a game is lacking day one I'm pretty much turned off to the game. And 6 months later or so after they've addressed their problems I've already moved onto other games and don't really care anymore.

So 343i just admitted Halo 5 was planned to be like it was since the start and it was intended to not follow its marketing campaigns.

What could go wrong?!

That's a negative, Noble One.

Reach's presentation, music, cinematography and themes were pretty good though. 5 had literally none of that, bar music (which is pretty much just O'Donnell dick-riding by Jinnouchi).
Wasn't there a talk about 5 being the darkest campaign?

There was, but it's really not. Like at all.

« on: November 03, 2015, 04:46:16 PM »
i skimmed a lot but it seems like he didnt talk about multiplayer at all.

weird, to ignore the flagship game mode in a 40 minute review.

He talked about it for almost half of the review, especially the REQ system.
i didnt see or hear anything relating to the maps, weapon sandbox, or gametypes.

he covered both of these
barely. not like his opinions on multiplayer would be valid anyway

still covered them
again.. like 2 minutes worth in a 40 minute review doesnt really count.

Well he did say that he's not the one to speak for Halo multiplayer as he's not very good at it. Therefor he's not going to go in depth about it. Like you said, his opinion wouldn't really be valid, even he knew this.

Kinda annoyed me that Miyazaki said he's taking the delayed backstabs and front parry away, like it was a bad thing.

By front parry do you mean guard breaking? Like when someone is turtling and you hit their shield and leave them open for an attack?

I thought that's still in the game. I was watching someone play the alpha and I saw him guard break someone and kill them via execution.

Edit: Found the video. It's the first fight, so in the beginning of the video is where you'll see him guard break his opponent.

Very nice, can't wait for that one. Also I haven't read your whole thread, but what do you think of Fallout 3 so far?
i'm enjoying myself

the coolest thing about the game is the sheer amount of content--if things keep running smoothly, i can see this being a game i'll continue playing even after i'm finished with the main quest

the combat is clunky as hell, and i rely on V.A.T.S. a lot to cripple limbs and get headshots, but w/e

Good to hear you're enjoying it. Fallout is one of my favorite games.

And yeah, the combat is really clunky.

i normally hate playing games out of sequence

For those of you wondering he is terrible at just about every game he plays and blames the game itself and he hates his fanbase, or lack thereof I should say. This video sums him up perfectly.

The comments are the best part.

And thanks for the observation. It hurt to watch because quality, but the person recording it must have been really nervous.

The video got taken down. Do you remember what the comments said?

The defensive, cautious style that was before BloodBorn.

It looks like they want to do more BloodBorn in the trailer...
Here, this should help you see how it plays, 16 minuets of pure Dks3 gameplay.

Interesting. To a certain degree it reminds me of Demons souls.

Why did they ever do away with firefight

I miss firefight. If they make it like the way ODST firefight was then I'm all for it. Firefight is way better than Spartan Ops imo.

Combat looks good (and sounds great too, going by the reports of those who got to see the game at E3 and noted how similar it was to DS1), setting looks very meh. I only got to see Bloodborne on videos and streams, but it had the most boring and least memorable atmosphere / art style of all the souls games. And this looks a lot like Yharnam 2.0, unfortunately.
It was more memorable than most of Dark Souls 2's stuff. I can only name a handful of places in DS2 that really stood out.

Agreed. The same goes for NPC's as well.

Gaming / Re: Jesus fuck competitive Halo players are unbearable
« on: August 04, 2015, 02:32:12 PM »

I love seeing all the competitive types who try and make up excuses for why Halo 4 is the most popular game specific playlist in MCC, why it has more backwards compatibility votes than any other and why H4 comes up a lot more in multi game playlists than 2 or 3. Just admit that the damn thing is more popular by the majority of the playerbase.
That's because the Halo player base left on the MCC is nothing but Reachtards and anyone who joined Halo after.

Halo veterans that have been there since CE weren't gonna wait 6 months for them to fix the MCC.
That makes sense, people that have played Halo for 14 years and stuck with the franchise through the totally problem-free Halo 2 are unwilling to wait six (which is overly dramatic) months. Not as if there are people that actually like Halo 4; it's also strange to assume that those that liked Reach automatically like 4, you've got living proof against that right here.

At least Halo 2 worked day one unlike the MCC which like you said took 6, supposedly, dramatic months to fix. Fuck me for expecting a game that I paid $60 for to work day one right? Yep, totally couldn't work around what Halo 2 had vs what MCC had. It's only 6 months, I should get over myself, because fuck the satisfaction of wanting my games to work and function properly. MCC was a disaster for 6 months, unplayable, literally unplayable. I think you can look past Halo 2's problems vs what MCC had. 6 months is a long time, it makes sense as to why people are so turned off to it now. At least I was able to play Halo 2 whereas the MCC I had to wait 6 months for them to fix, and even now it's still not perfect.
It really wasn't six months though (like I said before you jumped to your preferred interpretation, six is dramatic, 3 is closer to the truth), and the MCC was perfectly playable-lets be specific here in that it was only the online multiplayer that was broke, campaign, playlists and customs were all fine (bar split-screen H2A customs, that still performs poorly).

Perhaps you should be more clear on what your interpretation is. Even then 3 months is still some time and after 3 months the game still had many issues. There was still issues with the ranking, such as ranks resetting.

Anyways, yes we can all agree the multiplayer was a disaster. However, co op campaign and customs still didn't work properly. Co op campaign had massive input lag and customs were almost as bad as mulitplayer. Co op would also crash for me sometimes. Customs from my experience was laggy, would crash, difficulty getting everyone into a lobby and host had a big advantage. Also single player wasn't perfect, while it functioned better than any of the others there was still file corruption which was annoying as fuck, especially if you were doing a legendary run.

So while the big problem was multiplayer, MCC still had problems abroad.

It's gonna be worse than Fallout 4, at least Fallout 4 has 4 dialog options. Gaming is ruined forever.
