Alright so if I had to guess how people stream Smash Bros. (particulatly Melee) games without inducing the extra 7-15 frames of lag or whatever it is capture cards increase the delay by, I'd say it relies on the use of a 2-way split AV cable, with 1 end plugged into the TV and the other end plugged into the capture card?

Halo CE: Win a Slayer match by trapping the other team within spawn, leave 1 person standing at all times to ensure they can't escape. Establish complete map control with the blast radius of a single grenade. 20XX of the metagame is everybody is a beaner running Aimbots. (although lowkey the game was fun af to play competitively online, even with the horrendous netcode).

Honourable mention to Smash Bros. 4 for trying to make top-tier a waifus-only club. The top 5 characters are some literally who in a catsuit with a moveset that by mention alone causes a massive shitstorm, a forced advertisement of a non-western game with an uncontestable reach on every attack and a counter that KOs at 60% (But granted, has a Male skin), the proprietor of Fanservice in gaming, now with even thinner clothing™ and easy bake combos that are just as bad as Bayonetta's on platform stages, yet another Woman in skin-tight clothing and Space Queen with a Star.

Serious / Re: Obesity and 'food deserts'
« on: April 13, 2016, 04:12:37 AM »
The Food Desert thing isn't a legitimate excuse tbh. You would have to be in a poor Eastern European country or a very isolated area with little population to say without a doubt that a lack of access to nutritional foods is contributing to being overweight.

Lifestyle choices are the biggest contributing factor to Obesity. The consumption of Snack foods throughout the day (a common eating habit in lower-middle class western culture) without any real meal plan can often result in an increased uptake of excess Energy and Fat, etc. This coupled with 72% of Adults in Australia (not sure on the American statistic) doing less than 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day leads to the problem.

The people you're discussing it with might indeed be in a Food Desert, but even then, a regular routine of exercise alone would help keep one's weight from getting above the threshold of obesity.

I was a little schoolgirl for Halo: Reach and a bit excited for Halo 4. I am now cautiously optomistic for Yooka Laylee.

For some reason, I was under the impression that you were talking about FD only.

I only brought up Smash 4 as an aside. In For Glory, Battlefield isn't even an available stage, which means any character that performs better with platforms is going to have a much harder time fighting, and FD-dwellers tend to thrive.

But yeah, in terms of Battlefield being the most balanced stage, I was strictly referring to Melee there.
Yeah gotcha. I now remember that FG has a strict 'Omega randoms only' policy in effect, which kind of sucks tbh.

There's actually a few people who contend that Final Destination isn't a competitive stage, and that it should be banned. I think For Glory is a testament to this, and the fact that many characters (who are reliant on platforms) get chain-grabbed to death on it, and there's nothing they can really do.

Battlefield is overall the most balanced stage, and Melee's Battlefield had the best design ever.
You have me confused here tbh. I was talking about Fountain of Dreams, Battlefield and FD all having a similar colour palette in Melee.

In Smash 4 (I assume that's what you're talking about with For Glory, unless there's a Melee Netplay?), Battlefield gives Zero Suit Samus assured 0% > aerial kill options that are even worse than Bayo's, and arguably turns every single bad matchup she has strongly in her favor.

I agree it's a solid stage to play on in Melee for all characters. My only gameplay complaint is the inconsistent ledge grabbing. Aesthetically the stage looks like ass though.

So I've been playing melee for a little while and today I went to a friend's house to play it. Had a few 3 player Smashes and 1v1s and something just clicked, because my Wavedash attempts were a lot more solid than last time I tried, and I was able to land them consistently when I was practicing. Just need to learn to spacing and follow-ups with them now.

Today's notes are:
-Sheik's Chain is an amazing trolling tool.
-Jigglypuff's Rest is a lot more dangerous than in Smash 4
-Melee feels a lot more comfortable to chase a combo after you knock somebody into the air.
-Don't let yourself be trapped in the cavern on the left side of Pokemon Stadium because you will take damage up to 180% and it's inescapable.
-Melee's art style is horrendous
-Shields > 9s.

I see EVERY move you make. I have back-up accounts and they're all subscribed to you as well. I keep a journal of notes for a book. And once the book has been published I'll read the 'All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental' part to myself with great satisfaction. I tell you this now because I believe that nothing can stop me.
Well I legit am fictitious so jokes on you.
