I never saw the appeal. Why would I watch somebody else play a game when I could play it myself? Unless they have funny commentary or something.
It's just dependent on the audience's tastes tbh Vicarious gaming is pretty neat to me as a whole cause I'm a broke ass nigga and Halo Customs streams legit look fun, but I think the main appeal is in picking up/learning certain techniques across a few games.

The guy I watch just beats the Elite 4 ASAP, without the use of glitches or anything.
There are "catch 'em all" runs, but they're a lot less common for obvious reasons.
Do any games allow you to skip a gym to the Elite Four in a glitchless run?

Base Wardens win by camping out of sight lines/behind an infinite respawning ocean of Knight Battlewagons for the entire thing tbh At least you have a 50/50 chance of landing the headshot before the Jackal senses the Trigger Pull/are able to cheese the worst areas by getting out of the map

is Wavedashing actualy that important. I literaly cannot pull off samus'ss Super Wavedash without slowing the game down to 1/4 speed. How the fuck do people do this shit consistantly?
Super wavedash is just one of the many useless Samus advanced techs that barely have any situational benefit tbh Normal wavedash is pretty important and only requires like, 30 seconds of labbing before you can start using it ingame (seriously, it's just air dodging into the ground out of a jump). Unless you main Falcon or another character who gets barely anything out of it, you kinda need to know how to wavedash, especially to space an opponent's attack/approach with your own.

YEAH, all the Gen III gyms are pretty fucking brutal. Wattson tends to be one of the worst for everybody.
He's pretty much a pushover if you pick Mudkip to start with, but that makes the May/Brandon encounters from Slateport onwards fucking rape dungeons if you don't put in double the leveling grind time compared to normal.
