Nothing is really that special to me tbh. Smash 4 is good but it doesn't have anything particularly amazing about it like Melee's absurd skill ceiling, Brawl's Subspace emissary or 64's insane hit/shield stun. 8 Player smash is a great feature but doesn't really carry it much further in my eyes. Mario Kart 8 is fun but the Online mode was ruined by cheating way too early in its lifespan and Halo 5's entire first year alone holds it back from being viable. I'll call ya once BotW, Yooka Laylee and Sea of Thieves have dropped.

I also got Melee and PM netplay up and running so I'll be able to have friendlies on even more setups :^). I wanna try and get 64 netplay too.

If your friend is being self-destructive and you're not doing everything in your power to make them pull their fucking head in then you're not a friend at all tbh. It sounds like you're just too afraid of upsetting them in the short term to bother with giving them a better quality of relationship with their partner in the future.

If I found out my best friend was cheating on his partner I'd do my best to make him stop and come clean, because I fucking care about him, and I care about their relationship. If I supported him cheating because I was too afraid of offending him, I may as well just turn my back on everything we've been through in the 12 years we've known each other. There's no moral dilemma here; you either go through hell to get them back in a healthy frame of mind or you basically turn a blind eye to the fact they obviously need help.
