Grind 3 stars in all the cups by yourself as practice. I recommend using (I think) outside drifters as inside drifters become obsolete on 150cc+. If you wanna be sweaty about it, the Blue Falcon/Pipe Frame, slicks and a medium/heavy character like Link are generally considered the faster vehicle classes to go for. Or just be a complete baller and swag out with gold everything like Catzilla.
Get good at using all items to your advantage and do lots of time trials to learn the timing in mushroom boosts for certain shortcuts.
It’s not that important if you’re just looking to beat your friends and items slightly nullify its advantage, but Fire hopping is a good way to save time in races.
If you decide to 3-star all difficulties, you’ll need a lot of patience for:
-The special cup (esp. on 150/extra compared to 200)
-The Crossing cup
-The Bell cup
These 3 get some hella bullshit going on higher difficulties.

Smash 4 would’ve been so good competitively if everybody was balanced to pre-patch Sheik’s level instead of everybody being nerfed and then making players have to learn about SDI specifically for Bayo.
