Again, people make stupid decisions and dumb choices, it does not factor into my ability to empathize and attempt to help. Explain to me who would gain from belittling them.

Such "don't do drugs or we'll treat you like shit for the rest of your life on top of your addiction" thing is here and it doesn`t work at all. Also this kind of thing applies more to people what are tempting to do drugs, while this thread is about ex-addicts. People do drugs because they are either dumb, weak or was forced into it and got an addiction. People, which were forced into it and which got rid of it, did nothing wrong. Dumb people probably won`t even make to ex-addict stage and, since thread is about ex-addicts, it leaves us with weak people. Everybody has it`s own weaknesses, it`s own problems, people are not perfect and they never will be. One of the reason we succeded as a race is that while we are weak, we cover each other backs. Weak people can`t deal with their own problems alone. And if weak person did drugs, they did it not because of having fun, they did it because the problem he or she have. And why wouldn`t I applaud somebody for dealing with drugs? Why would I bellitte the fact that somebody doesn`t do drugs after addiction? Do I really want them problems after all they come? Do I really want to bellitle that they didn`t do drugs for a year and in that way potentially push them back to drugs or making them suicide?

The reason is because once you start doing that shit, its hard to give up. Its not that hard NOT to do it. Just say no.
So if you had enough will power to stop and get normal again, that's an accomplishment.
Simply put, you don't get rewards for doing nothing. And not being a drug addict is considered doing nothing.
Not being drug addict rewards you because you don`t buy drugs, you don`t waste [insert time here] in recovery facilities, you don`t have it in your bio so your employer won`t reduse your salary and/or hire you, but MOST importantly you won`t suck dick of homeless person for meth.
You are playing on default settings.
It`s more like you are not turning on difficulty mods, which rewards you with additional EXP and opportunity to suck dick if you don`t die and beat all obstacles. It`s also possible to turn off some of them without dying, but they have special conditions to turn them off. Sometimes they activate at "random".

I guess that would be it, I don`t know of other forums with such atmosphere. If I was up to go somewhere, there is one or two places I can go though. One place is way too good for me and second one is pretty... "sanitized" and is pretty inactive and most of active people there seems to be way too positive for me, they are not bad people by any means but their positivity kills me, I also caused a lot of problems there in the past.
