I never said that taking job is like choosing a slavery, I said that you take job for survival, because if not for survival, then why?
As I was explaining to Verb, some people take a job because it's engaging and the responsibility gives meaning to their life. Not just to earn enough to survive.
Responsibility or anything giving meaning to peoples life is for one`s survival. Hobbies might be as engaging as job is, expecially when you find people with simillar hobby.

Happiness is understanding and exploiting the game of biology and Verbatim refuses to play. That's it.
We`re not talking about happiness, we`re talking about jobs. People usually take jobs because they need to survive, not because to be happy. Hobbies exist for happiness. Jobs exist for surviving. Thats it.

You'll be depressed your entire life if you don't enjoy your job.
You are saying this like job is the only thing that exist in world

Um... no, I'm not. I'm saying it like it's one of the most important things in reference to happiness considering it takes up more time than any other activity for the majority of people.
Ah, well, sorry, it just sounded like that. As I said above, not all sorts of job take all of your time. To add on this, you can reduce negative impact of your job even more by taking breaks and rotating it with different kind of activity (like 2 hours of mental activity, 15 min break, 2 hours of physical activity and so on).

Your career pretty much dominates your life of a day-to-day basis, so naturally if you choose to view it as “slavery” it’s going to impact your happiness. Not a very practical mindset.
And you are saying this like job takes majority of your career or all of it, while in reality it`s not exactly a true, expecially considering part-time jobs exist, distant jobs exist, basically jobs which doesn`t take all of your time and are enough for you to survive, pay bills or w/e exist
Part-time jobs, stay-at-home jobs, or even intermittent type work is still a significant amount of your life to choose to be miserable because of and this doesn’t undermine the point.
a) I never said that taking job is like choosing a slavery, I said that you take job for survival, because if not for survival, then why?

b) You would be surprised how much jobs there are that don`t take much of your time. Expecially if you are already good at your job, you can just finish it faster.

nobody "likes" work—you just have a bunch of people who either have 1.) an incredibly high work ethic to counteract their distaste for work, 2.) someone who's good at bullshitting themselves into a state of complacency, or 3.) they just have a very high tolerance for the oppressive nature of all labor
You forgot 4.) thirst for power, because sometimes you can get knowledge you need on a job only.

I'm going to work hard because I'll then have the opportunity to scream on people who distract me from it, same people who thought that I'm gonna be happy and "have place in the world" with it.

I'm going to work hard to get stronger, even if stronger =/= happy. I need strength to achieve my goals.

I'm gonna stay until night on it just because workplace has better conditions than dorm I live in.

« on: April 12, 2018, 05:49:00 PM »
But then it wouldn’t be the funniest joke I’d ever hear
...yes it is

do you understand what future tense is
But how would it be funny if it’s in a language I’ll never understand
because if you could understand the language, it would be

in the same way that your perfect match for a romantic partner is in a country you'll never visit

it's a big world and you'll never come close to experiencing all of it, is the point

an obvious fact that we all know, but i'm phrasing it in a way that i find poignant and interesting
Repetition is a curse of this world
