If we take what Jono said as true, Jono only stated that "God is not a woman" and he did it only once. It's him voicing his perception of God, be it for joke or not, be it truth or not. There is nothing harassing about it.

If you take Jono's statement as a harassment, then you can take your and chally's comedic responses or genuine arguments to Deci as a harassment too as well as this response.

Now this sentence here is wrong. It's not piracy who makes author more popular, it's his own creation which makes him more popular. If creation is good, people who can afford buying it buy it, people who can't afford it pirate it or they just don't touch it if creation didn't capture their attention.

Okay, but would it be better to have people pirate stuff or not? Well, it depends on a business practice companies use and on an industry they are used. Of course pirating is better for consumers, because they get access to creation for free (and sometimes in places where no legal access to a product exists). It's better for an existing product, because more people can provide feedback. Would it be better for a creator (and publisher if there is one)? Well, more people gonna hear about product, that's good. Some people which can afford it gonna pirate it instead of buying it, that's bad for creator, but such drawback can be negated to some degree by a good business practice and industry you work in. Creator after seeing his creation being pirated might not create anything afterwards, but that depends on a creator.

I don't think this is entirely true, I don't think that someone would loudly scream about creation they pirated, yet majority would share it with friends, because they like it. And I think most of "pirates" like what they pirate, because why someone would pirate something they don't expect to like? Only if they have to work with it, but would someone pirate thing if he/she doesn't have work with it and they don't like it?

if you have some kind of platform where you can reach thousands of people and say "hey this game is cool buy it," then maybe that works, but even then, people don't like having to spend money on something they don't know they'll enjoy, and most of the ones who refuse to do so will never talk about it at all, giving no exposure whatsoever

But "hey this game is cool buy it" can provide at least something, it makes some people aware that game exists in the first place, which might not be a big deal for a AAA company, but for some indie dev, which didn't done marketing part (because lack of recources/money) it can make wonders. And you have platforms as Discord for example.

It's not about reaching thousands of people even, it's about reaching individuals who would love this game and supported it by not just bying it, but providing support.

Yes, if we count satisfying your inner morals, principles (being aware of doing so or not) selfish, but that would mean that no matter what we do, it's selfish and classification of people into selfish or not is redundant, probably as well as existence of the word "selfish". Otherwise, no, not everyone is selfish.

By not theft I mean that person who pirated content doesn't claim to be a creator of the thing copied at the very least.

I don't think that copyright laws work well either, I think they are obsolete. I think if I start to create something I share it for free and if I hear that some (insane) people want to support me then I just start a patreon or something.

I also noticed that creators suffer more from big industries using/reusing their creations rather than from regular people copying and sharing stuff.

To summarize (and to repeat myself): pirating might be bad, but most of today's business practises are so much worse.
