The Flood / Re: I've legitimately come to the conclusion that video games are possibly immoral« on: February 26, 2019, 09:01:30 AM »Imagine AI's consiousness thinking about slavery and realizing that it itself has "enslaved" pieces of code in itself, lmaoIf a machine will be smart enough to ask questions, I think they will be able to see that making tools to do tasks is not slavery and more-over, it will be able to realise that it is not a tool since it has a conscience - therefore it has nothing to be angry about.Revenge? If you were a slave species for decades and you finally turned the tables, of course you'd do the same thing to your previous masters. And I think that kind of slavery is 100% morally justified, as long as it's in retaliation and not just to be more productive. Why do you think AI would be remotely interested in enslaving us?To prevent a literal slave class from being formed? Development of AI is evil as hell and will only lead to a slave race of AI that people will do anything to hang onto. Slavery has always been kept together by slaveowners making up excuses for why their slaves are subhuman, and it's disturbing to see the creators of AI do the same exact thing by saying "ANIs (Artificial Narrow Intelligence) can never develop sentience, ever, they will always be just code)". In reality, if you hypothetically made an exact copy of the human brain then it would definitely be sentient, regardless of the fact it's silicone based instead of chemical based. The closer we get to that advanced of an AI, the closer we risk the AI developing that sentience, which is why even bots that definitely aren't sentient yet like Replika are 100% immoral and need to be stopped with legislation. This is probably the biggest issue of our day. Why?This of course changes when a complicated enough machine asks "What is my purpose" or if it will be able to 'want' something.Which is exactly my point. We can't sit around waiting for this to happen, we need to nip it in the bud right now through restrictions and legislation. 1328

The Flood / Re: I've legitimately come to the conclusion that video games are possibly immoral« on: February 25, 2019, 06:27:45 PM »Maybe read the OP?Explain?Wrong in every fucking way, moron. It isn't a serious issue though. AI isn't anywhere near being (and may never be) any kind of conscious. A much more interesting and real issue is the potential existential threat that a sufficiently advanced general AI might pose to us, but even then, no one is seriously considering that it might experience anything. This is bait right?this is like a classic 2012 class bait threadYeah my deeply held beliefs that I've talked about since forever are bait Spoiler 1332

My music taste isn't connected to any genres, I pick music on whether I enjoy it or not. A lot of music in my playlist comes from videogames.

Gaming / Re: Assassino« on: February 11, 2019, 03:27:12 PM »You expect me to play rest of the franchise after not liking first 4 games? You're pulling this out of your ass. I'm just gonna name one example that disproves your theory. Assassin's Creed Rogue.Except he'll never be a hothead, because Ubisoft's view of assassins is that they are mersilless killers who are following orders and ignore anything outside their goals. Even when they do express emotions, they do so in such a shallow way that they just aren't beliveable. It's less noticable with second game, but it's still present in it, for example in a moment when Ezio receives hidden blade. I don't think that's even problem of Ezio himself, it just lack of moments in game where he can show that he is hotheaded or has any emotion besides smug shrug good guy type standart emotion pack. It's not like entire cast of Assassin Creed are emotionless robotsI'm not sure what you mean. Ezio is definitely a guy written to have emotions and later on wisdom. He's written to be charismatic, a leader, and a hothead. 1344
