Sorry, but to me her voice is like nails to a chalkboard. Which is a shame because every other VA for Eva is extremely well done, I feel they really dropped the ball bringing back Tiffany Grant for 2.22 and 3.33. Tiffany Grant is better because she doesn't stumble through her German lines like an autist.

I personally am one the very small few who holds the complete opposite of the general opinion on anime voice actors. A lot of fans make the claim that they don't sound anything like the character, or that they don't put enough emotion into acting, or that studios should hire full blown actors. The first two can be somewhat justifiable, but the last expectation is complete horseshit. Why should a company hire a full fledged actor when the original creator did not and when the actor is going to charge more for doing literally the same job? Sorry, but I feel a lot of the voice actors for anime are pretty okay in my book. Spice And Wolf, Darker Than Black, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell, these are all shows that have really top notch voice acting. Another gripe I have with the majority view is that they somehow feel a VA should be personally attached to whatever it is they're doing. They LOVE to talk about how great Asuka's English VA is, but when asked why they usually spout some bullshit like "She's a fan of Eva" or "She likes to watch anime too!" as if that somehow has fucking ANYTHING to do with the job. Sorry, but Asuka's VA sounds like pure shit and her VA isn't somehow better just because she's a fan of the show. Most anime fans bitch because "muh localization" and are incredibly spiteful. They act as if they're forced to watch the show in the dub when every anime distributor releases the show in Japanese with English subtitles, but then they just go and bitch about the subs "not being accurate" this isn't fucking Nintendo of America and their ligitmate censorship, it's legitimate localization. When watching 2.22 in FUNimation's English sub, there's a point where a character makes the comment "According to our calculations, a chance of a direct hit is over 99%!" with the character actually saying "percent" yet when I watch the "Superior" fan translated rip with "accurate" subs the line is changed to "Our calculations shows a direct hit of over six nines!" You tell me which one sounds more legitimate. Source on last paragraph: UTW's rip of Evangelion 2.22A lot of you are anime fanatics so if anyone would be able to give me answers it would be one of you guys.

No. Yes. I don't remember them being "beta". We all remember your threads on b.net. Dakimakura is easier to type than body pillow, I bought Eva because it was a good show, not because it was a good anime, and Saber is a good character because she is based off a European legend. And half my posts on B.net were shitting on anime. You call body pillows their name in Japanese and you just bought a box of anime, and your avatar.
And we all remember your posts on b.net Ebin ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) sure it doesn't :^)

That "awfulness" created quality content though (well quality by the standards of the time of its creation) whereas now good luck trying to get legitimate responses in a "You laugh you lose" thread that isn't that fucking banana image. In the past, a shit post was a shit post no matter where it was posted, but nowadays it seems that garbage that has no real content to it is celebrated because it was just on the appropriate board. There is literally NO difference from /b/ and /trash/ except /trash/ has shit from other boards. It's strange how /b/ used to be a lot more vitriolic, edgy and generally just awful than it is now.

I'm not saying if there was a child with a mental condition I wouldn't want to help them. I'm saying that parenting is very demanding, it's a full time job with no pay. I'm not going to look down on somebody for wanting the least stressful approach. Raising a child from birth is exactly that since you have the most control from the earliest age over their conditioning. The only real behavioral inheretence is manifested in conditions like aspergers, which is an entire other touchy subject because just because the parents have learned to live at peace with something like that, it is not very ethical at all to knowingly put it on a child. Aspergers can lead to some crippling fucking depression and death.
Everything else has hardly any emperical basis though. If you try adopting a child who's well developed already, yeah they're coming in with a lot of conditioning outside your control, but waiting for a younger orphan isn't out of the question (again the system is the problem).
And I think people need to reframe how they see dealing with an adopted child's problems. It seems when people imagine an adopted's problems they suddenly feel like they don't have responsibility to help their child get through them. That's not how parenting works, if you want to be a parent you should want to assist your child with their problems no matter who's fault it is it happened.

"Like father like son" Personally speaking, I would prefer to raise my own offspring over another, simply because there is good possibility my offspring's behavior is something akin to either me or my partner (or both) thus making how to approach raising them slightly easier. While there is a good possibility the child could be something completely different from the two of us, it's not as big of a gamble as adopting a child. The other reason is as you stated, the process is very tedious. Screening the potential parents has a variety of problems and basically expects all parents to create the perfect child. News flash: That is not the reality, while parenting you WILL fuck up in some instances, that's an unavoidable fact, but it's all about reducing those mistakes and the ones your parents may have made when we we're raised. This fact however, is one child services doesn't believe in. Which is one of the most ape-ass, selfish desires out there. The legit reason to not want to adopt is because the adoption process right now is cumbersome and takes forever. "muh genes" is grounds for not letting someone pass their genes IMO. I know you weren't saying that's what you felt but guh this one fucking infuriates me.

Temporarily yes. Usually when an item is on back order, they plan on making it on a "whoever orders one" basis. Because the product was released almost two years ago, it doesn't make sense for Bandai to continue to mass produce the model kit, so when they get an order for one, they have to make each piece tray individually to order which takes time. This is pretty common for kits that are over a year old, the only time you'll find a kit over a year old and still in stock is because it's either A. Super popular (like most of the UC/SEED series) or B. The first batch stocks didn't sell as well as intended. TL;DR: Back order means "made to order" for model kits. Ohh whoah, that is HOT. I'd buy that right now. Back order? Like...out of stock??

I personally didn't care for the cases from both the Japanese DVD and western DVD release, they seemed very dry just slapping a different character on it along with some crazy background, but maybe that's just because I'm a sucker for minimalism/box set specific cases. The US release of the perfect collection had a nice box set but the cases inside were just the standard US single DVD cases. Yeah unfortunately I got rid of a lot of my cases for dvds, but I'm thinking that one survived.
I know the movies I got rid of the cases tho.
I've always loved the series but I probably won't buy it again.

Internet homes change over time. With the 2013 site update on Bungie.net, I adapted to get used to what my old home has become but I can't bring myself to continually do so when both the site keeps changing and the people, with the original creators becoming more and more detached from what they were. 4chan is kind of a home now, but while the original layout has changed very little, the culture changes so fast and warps into something I don't know anymore. I migrated to r/ffxiv for a bit but that community is idiotic as pig shit (one because of the game's current content drought, and two because they're such casuals towards the game). Finding a new internet home can be a real chore, just remember: Home is where the heart is.
