The Flood / Yugioh Locals
« on: November 26, 2019, 04:33:47 PM »
I play Yugioh at work with a friend of mine but he works in Tomorrowland and our shift times rarely match up so we don’t get to duel often if ever. Never the less I’ve been back into the game and I’ve been wanting to play more.

There’s a game shop about 20 minutes away that does Yugioh nights every Tuesday at 7, but not only have I been bogged down by situations preventing me from going (like tonight I’m at an auto care and they’re raking longer than normal) I’ve been a little anxious going in general.

Does anyone go to card game events? If so, what was it like for you guys?

Spoiler
If that’s a jab at people complaining about Rey, it completely physically drained Yeed to collapsing after only a few seconds whereas Kylo said (and we were subsequently showed) that she only got more powerful using the force and showed zero signs of weakness/fatigue.

Also no one is acting like Yeed isn’t special, Mando was specifically told his bounty was important/special whereas we’re told that Rey is somehow not and that she’s a nobody despite everything she does.

wow baby yoda is such a mary sue

how can he use the force with no training

Quote
Is the delay that surprising?
Warner Brothers know they have a financial bomb on their hands.
Now WB's move of DUNE: VOL 1 from Thanksgiving 2020 to Christmas 2020 makes much more sense.
Had the movie stuck with its March release date it would have had to compete against a new Pixar movie, the sequel to A QUIET PLACE & Disney's live action remake of MULAN. GvsK would have had one weekend to recoup it's profit before the world moved on to the next film.
Even at its new Thanksgiving 2020 release date the only hope is the longevity of the holiday season can allow it to play a little longer.
They went into the MonsterVerse all in & what they've learned is that there just isn't an audience across the globe big enough to support Kaiju movies made at the cost of $200+ million production budget & a marketing/global distribution budget of $200 million as well. The hope was these would be films that all come up to or surpass a billion dollars at the box office every film. So far the most successful has crossed 1/2 billion. King of the Monsters didn't even make $400 million worldwide & that movie is one of the most fan-pandering messes ever made.
Warner Brothers has supported the visions of the three filmmakers who have made MonsterVerse films so far & Godzilla: King of the Monsters was the movie Michael Dougherty wanted to make & it was bad & undoubtably lost the studio money. Even with inflation numbers KOTM made less at the box office than Godzilla 1998. I have it on authority Warner Brothers also supported Adam Wingard's vision on this next film.
The MonsterVerse is a noble experiment by Warner Brothers but it's also a failed experiment. Those happen. Godzilla Vs. Kong is getting released because the studio has already put over $200 million into making it but it's the end of the line for this "universe".

I don't necessarily agree on the simple fact that KoTM only really didn't make money because some idiot decided to release it on the same weekend as Aladdin which Disney went ham-fist on advertising for (way more than they did for The Lion King which was way better IMO). KoTM had noticeable flaws but it was hardly a mess of a film.

I would say that this website needs to shut down but I'm not so sure if that would be unpopular/controversial.

I have mixed feelings on the matter. While a standalone Boba Fett movie would've been awesome, this lets us explore the lore of Mandalore/The Mandalorians a bit more.

I think there was actually a Boba Fett standalone film in production that got quietly turned into this.

Criticisms of the service:

I don't even get a fucking discount (though 7 bucks a month is nothing) despite shilling away for the mouse. To make it worse, if I do want the service for free I would have to trade in my guest park passes for it; which is absolutely not worth it as those are essentially 16 free park hopper passes for my friends and family x3.

Settings only adjust subtitles and on the PS4 the subtitles don't even appear properly and appear above my screen. Also, when adjusting subtitles settings it has a tendency to break the video player and I end up having to back out of it.

as much cool stuff like this is coming to the disney+ platform, i can't say i'd ever find myself subscribing to it

A lot of those shots are probably due to the latency issue 343 said that's present and that they're aware and working on it. But there's some shots in those clips where he just straight up misses and is expecting a kill anyways. Particularly the one 13 seconds in being the most obvious.

One day our paths will cross. I’m sorry for the continual bailing.

I've known and interacted with Napalm for like 6 years on the forums and yesterday was the first time we played Halo together.

It was a really good film, I actually found some parts difficult to watch though.
