It only needs to appear to have depth in order to be classified as three-dimensional. There is no rule saying it has to be tangible. Nor is there a rule stating the depth has to be proven, because if it appears to have depth, it's three-dimensional. how else are you going to prove that an object has depth if you can't demonstrate it yourself by, say, touching it

I'm talking about the 3D effects. You know, the stuff that was advertised back in the early 2000's about how they would "pop out" on you. Those are illusions but are also 3D. it's much easier to justify that, because you know that they are real, actual people on that screen
