General consensus is either he's dead or in a vegetative state.

Hah I get it.

North Korean rumor mill is in full swing with news on their leader's health. As of right now there's supposedly a Chinese news channel claiming Kim Jong-Un is dead.

Based image but I will say though that biggest apathetic person I've ever met was a literal female-incel so I find it funny reconciling this meme with my own experiences.

If anyone is interested, I also received the collectors edition for FFVII Remake last week; I can do a package review for that or any other item in my anime/TV show/movie collection.

Like most anime movies, it's basically a 90 minute episode/OVA with a higher budget. With that being said I still highly recommend it as it is gut bursting hilarious. However keep in mind while the main cast is amazing as usual, the movie is very Kazuma/Megumin focused, Aqua and Darkness take a back seat but the movie itself is still 10/10 in my book.

if you think megumin is best girl when it's clearly aqua, then youre wrong

but for real, is the movie worth watching? i know it was added to crunchyroll a while ago but i havent gone around to it... same with that violet evergarden movie

The Flood / Re: What is your income level?
« on: April 23, 2020, 12:29:41 PM »
My W2 from last year lists my income for the year as $27.7k. However I wasn't full time until August so from January up until August my average weekly hours fluctuated and so did my hourly rate so I put myself as $30k in your poll to account for my change in income and position from last year. However depending on this furlough I may not hit $30k again this year.

This was already thought to be the case for a number of sources. It shows exactly how lethal the virus is: Not at all. But that doesn't make for an interesting headline so all we get is talks about how it attacks your brain, makes you infertile, gives you a stroke, and turns you black. Acting like this thing is going to explode the planet is just baseless fear mongering.

So apparently some studies are coming about now showing evidence that the virus could be dozens of times more widespread than the current numbers suggest.

The Flood / Re: Anybody Regret Quarantining With Their Family?
« on: April 22, 2020, 07:29:50 PM »
Me and my sister have a group chat on our phones with three of our cousins from mom's side of the family. My sister still lives with mom and only one of my cousins still lives with theirs but apparently the situation is the same regardless: parents driving the kids insane. I'm thankful that mom is at least able to work remotely but the rest of us are furloughed. Makes me happy I'm 45 minutes away but I'm still visiting them Sunday since it's my mom's birthday.

The Flood / Entertainment/Package Review Thread
« on: April 22, 2020, 07:27:05 PM »
A while back I had preordered the LE Japanese release of the Konosuba Crimson movie on Bluray. Luckily CDJapan is still doing deliveries through FedEx priority and I received my copy the following the afternoon after it had shipped. When you choose the most expensive option for shipping, not even a port-closing pandemic appears to stop deliveries. Here is all the product information for my order.

Images below were also taken to test the quality of my iPhone 8 camera in darker areas without the use of the flash.

- 9800 yen, so roughly $91. I believe with the shipping my total was around $114.
- Package came with a CDJapan bonus exclusive, a leisure sheet with artwork of the main girls, it is very big.
- Before I thought only UFOtable/Type-Moon works had a special sleeve wrapped around the digi-pack box; but then I remembered that when I imported my Japanese release of Shin Godzilla on Bluray it also came with a sleeve and I plan on getting the Your Name BD box and I've seen that box also comes with one. Still a nice touch to have generic info on the product without ruining the box itself.
- The limited edition also comes with a short novel written by the creator(?), it's a very small book; it can almost fit in your pocket. Seeing as this is the Japanese release I have no idea how to read it since I don't know moon rune.
- The cardboard box the book comes in also has artwork on the back, I'll just keep it stored with the digi-pack sleeve.
- The BD box itself has special artwork different from the other versions of the release, back of the box is just plain white with the series title in the middle. Box itself is also very sturdy feeling.
- 50 page booklet with character/location info, interview descriptions (in Japanese obviously) and some artwork. Upon skimming through the book, I didn't realize just how much effort the animators put into the background of their areas, there's a lot of detail that one can easily miss when watching the show/movie.
- Jewel case has the standard movie poster image as the cover and the fantasy themed background inside.

Lastly, and obviously the most important: Megumin > Aqua. Images below.

I am also glad to hear that you are okay. I also would like to say that it was very smart to reach out to a psychologist in trying to sort out your problems. It was too late to fix things when I went to a councilor back in 2018 but I was at least able to make things somewhat right a year and a half later.

DeSantis jumped the gun without a plan in place. We got really fucked in the last election for governor, this clown we have now has no idea what he's doing but that drugged up nympho would have been just as useless.

They opened their beaches. US, how retarded are your leaders?

Gaming / Re: Persona 5 Royal
« on: April 17, 2020, 07:03:40 PM »
I've heard these opinions echoed online recently, especially with the new girl added and this completely baffles me.

I see no reason to hate the combat changes in particular unless one was intentionally grinding a certain boss with a cheap mechanic that has been removed Royal. Guns were useless in vanilla because once you ran out of ammo that was it for the entire infiltration. Showtimes are neat mid-battle attacks that are rare so it's not like they're wasting your time so even if they did they're still really enjoyable to watch.

In regards to new SoL/Confidants, you get a whole new semester so it's easier to branch out your interactions with the other characters and with Morgana not forcing you to bed so much, interacting and developing your Confidants is even easier. As for the new girl, like I'm completely dumbfounded that people are having a problem with her. I keep seeing people saying she's forced and pushed on you. She's not even a party member until the new semester and you can decline all her interactions just like everyone else. The only forced interactions with her is the one where you start her social link and small little greetings at the start of your day just like everyone else.

She's nothing like Marie from Persona 4 who was actually forced. They steamrolled her into everything including the Velvet Room which was usually only for the MC.

one of my hardcore persona friends said that they ruined P5 with this

so idk

he hates the new girl that they added in particular, and the story changes that came with

They had everything except toilet paper and paper towels. Everything. They even had rice, granted it was only 1 package per customer but the aisle was actually pretty full. I can get paper towels from 7-11 though, it seems me and only a small handful of people think to get more than just booze from convenience stores when filling up your tank at 10PM.

Okay FOR REAL today.

I will scour the remnants of my local Publix in search of materials to synthesize dinner tonight. My goal is some ground beef, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, seasonings, and Tortilla chips for taco mix tonight. I will also of course report any run ins with bands of lawless warlords, radioactive monstrosities, and other apocalyptic scenarios.

I don't really remember you but you can't possibly be anymore "cringe" than anyone else who still regularly uses this place.

Most of you know who I am just from my username but I want to start off and apologize for how I was all those years ago. I totally forgot about this place until a friend and I started to talk about groups were part of and it triggered my memories of this place. Got to thinking and realized was complete cringe in how I acted and wish I could go back and bash myself for a metal poll.

Gaming / General Persona Thread
« on: April 16, 2020, 05:55:21 AM »
Anyone else playing this? I never really touched my copy of Vanilla 5 after I got halfway through Madarame's Palace but I've just cleared Junya's Palace and I'm still not burned out or anything despite only having Royal for two days.

I can still see the combat changes like ammo for your guns replenishing after every fight and that helps tremendously with the grinding. All the reviews I read just state the same thing; how it made an already perfect game even better, and unanimous praise all around I can definitely see it. I know there was some complaints about rereleasing 5 on the same system and Japanese players asked why I couldn't have just been an expansion DLC, but with the way the entire system feeling overhauled I don't see why not to rerelease it as Royal when Persona 3 did the same thing with FES.

Everywhere in Japan is now starting to close down slowly and cancel events but only for upcoming events that were pretty close anyways. Still, I think Abe is getting too much of the flak when he isn't the only one responsible for their slow bureaucratic speed.

Things aren't looking too good in Japan

I am getting sick of these bold theories outside the realm of reality.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/14/health/social-distancing-research-coronavirus-2022-trnd/index.html

Quote
The study researchers say they are aware that such prolonged distancing, even if intermittent, would likely have "profoundly negative economic, social, and educational consequences."

Let me translate this: This is fucking impossible and anybody in a state of authority that thinks this is feasible is huffing paint. This nonsense needs to stop at the end of May at the latest. This virus is only a serious risk to a percentage of the population and you can't let the entire world be held hostage by the idea of their safety. "Oh the poor 14% of seniors in this country who are at risk (not mentioning who will live if they get the virus)!" How about all 315 million people at risk of being jobless and having no money for food and shelter because we decided to save a fraction of a fraction of that? Force the ones at risk to stay at home and let the people who aren't going to keel over from even just the regular flu to move on with our lives.

I don't want to come off as biased towards someone I don't support (no matter how many times I say don't) BUT I cant help but feel the disinterest in Biden's allegations might be somewhat contributed to the obsessive belief of "Orange man bad".

I don't like it because I actually found a sense of fulfillment and meaning in my job, my free paychecks end next Thursday, and sitting at home playing video games and watching anime all night until 5am and waking up at 1pm for no regard of a consistent sleep schedule reminds me of my time as a NEET for six months before I started college. I can't apply for unemployment until my furlough starts so the constant stress of making sure I have a roof over my head and food to eat stays near the forefront of my thoughts.
