have a magical day

I'll unironically say "Howdy" and "Ya'll come back now, ya hear" but I'll never say this.

You guys get grape soda?

If only, it's just the name of something we use to put recognition on somebody's record.

It's basically just company lingo for everything. You know how you go into a fast food place and the employee's name tag says they're a "team member" and not an employee? It's like that but on a crazy level. I'm not an employee, I'm a "cast member"; I'm not going into the backroom, I'm going "backstage". We don't give recognitions, we give "Grape-sodas". Depending on where you work it can be even more themed, we use iPads to help locate product but when we're "onstage" they're not iPads, they're "magic mirrors" and one of stores we push our cast to say "Bonjour" to guests entering because it's located in the BaTB section of Fantasyland.

As for resume building and talking about your own career growth, it's the same thing. They're not managers, they're Leaders; I wasn't helping get my team ready for the day, I was "setting them up for success". When I still worked in the campground, we had a wildlife conservation fund guests could donate any amount to. That was a pet project I gave myself because I care about animals; when putting that in my resume I had to translate that into something like "Champion of the wildlife conservation and being a leader among my peers by increasing donations in my area by over 200%". You're still expected to use the themed language from my first paragraph when possible as well; it's a big negative/disrespect to use typical corporate terms like employee or customer.

TL;DR: A lot of corporate lingo and fluff; higher-ups eat it up like candy.

Also, tf is Disney language, and why is it different from any standard professional language?

Lol no. Employee handbooks, policy manuals, and training guides are the same corporate/business looking as any other company. The only real difference is that everything uses Disney language; when I was working on my resume for my promotion, I had to make sure it was a "Disney" resume.

I was more so curious if that's an official Disney employee handbook.

If a statue of a woman makes you sexually aroused, are you a statue-sexual? What is it that the person finds sexually attractive?

In my six years I have never heard of anything involving couples trying to bang on rides. With that being said, I have heard of a man trying to steal Madame Leota's head from the Haunted Mansion and fell through the flooring just past the railing. You can't really see because of optical illusions and the dark in the ride but there's a fair bit of space between the ride cart and her head location.

I remember watching my brother play through Re: Chain Of Memories on the PS2 and he hated every fucking second of it. But he also praises KH2 as one of the greatest games ever made, his tastes are very....unique.

I don't know whether to laugh or be disappointed at the thought of toxic posters complaining about this place being toxic.

Mayhap both.

The FL department of economic opportunity has accidentally deleted the information of thousands of applicants and my information now needs to be resubmitted even though I had been waiting over a month just to see if my application was looked at, let alone approved or denied. People who filed before Easter just got either approved or denied last week. That was sent to me by email from my employer, when trying to log on to the DEO website I says I'm logging in incorrectly even though all it asks for is my SSN and my pin, when I go to reset my pin, it emails me a link that doesn't work and tells me to just call the DEO; when calling the DEO I just get a busy signal.

Regardless of when FL begins the next phase of reopening (Governor Desantis starts phase one next Monday), it appears I will probably be going the entire length without being able to get any unemployment benefits. All because our previous governor made the system as awful as possible on purpose, and that's not even a conspiracy theory laughably enough. I can pay rent and other bills for three months at most, I have some savings I wasn't living entirely paycheck to paycheck cause I make double the minimum wage, but I'm facing a serious financial risk over this come end of July.

With all the talk about the movie I completely forgot to post that on here. The English text of top part of the poster translates to: "Bye bye, all of Evangelion".

The Eiffel Tower poster was released in conjunction with the release date & the opening sneak peak in France last year. I personally prefer this poster over that one because I feel this one has more substance and more can be speculated from it rather than just a red Eiffel Tower.

gotta crunch out this one last assignment (building a personal website) for this dumbass class before anything else

i just noticed that 3.0+1.0 has a subtitle now: Thrice Upon a Time

cool poster, too, although i like the one with the girders more

Just finished Persona 5 Royal.

I'm on the fence about whether or not I liked the original more. On the one hand the gameplay changes through the normal story line made any possible downsides to the base game downright perfect and helped make maximizing social links easier and got rid of most of the grinding in Mementos. On the other hand, the new Palace really overstayed its welcome, rail-roaded your progression, and half the enemies were just downright not fun due to either absorbing or being resistant to almost any attack making them just SP sponges.

But what's "normal" though? Things aren't going to go back to what they were like January or February for a very long time, but we have to face the problems that have arose from this now. Here in FL you're waiting 6-8 weeks just to see if your unemployment application was even approved or not, let alone getting benefits. Cases are going to still occur because a zero percent situation is realistically impossible, but isn't that the point of increasing the hospital capacity?

Countries should wait until there is a steady downward trend of new infections before going back to 'normal'.

Wherever you go to get your download, the movies will most likely be labeled 1.11, 2.22, and 3.33. This is normal and in no way impacts the movies, it's just the different iterations of the movie's release.

wow i got a lot of shit to download

Order should be:

NGE episodes 1-20
Director's Cut episodes 21-24
Episodes 25 & 26
End of Evangelion
1.0
2.0
3.0

You can watch EoE before 25 & 26, they're two sides of the same coin. I used to tell people to watch EoE first but as time went on I found it more and more unnecessary.  You can skip Death & Rebirth entirely.

wait semi related question as i just watched the anime and the first movie

can you post a list of the movies to watch in order

So we lock down and increase hospital capacity to "flatten the curve" but now that we have an abundance of hospital capacity and the virus is no longer as deadly as previously assumed the answer is to keep everybody locked down indefinitely and keep hospital capacity as is? Surely you see the issue with this? Hospitalization will spike when we reopen but that's to be expected because everyone sat at home and killed their immune system.

Like I said, no one was saying the lock down at the start was bad, what's being said is that as time goes on, such drastic measures are being more and more unnecessary.

You do realize that the fact that hospitals not being overloaded right now and tents being dismantled is most likely thanks to the lockdown measures?

652
Serious / Re: Coronavirus panic room thread
« on: April 26, 2020, 07:46:03 PM »
When do we reach that curve? Are we sure we haven't already reached it? Hospitals are furloughing their own doctors and nurses because they're not receiving any patients. The medical ship sent to NY to help lighten the load is now leaving, tents set up outside hospitals are being dismantled because they simple aren't being used. Those 30,000 ventilators that were asked for, not even a fraction was used. If those theoretical models we were relying on were accurate, that'd be one thing, but it simply isn't happening.

What is going to happen is people will go back to society with weaker immune systems and they'll get very ill and hospitalized over disease that isn't even Covid. What are we supposed to do then? Go into another lock down? Government officials are doing the right thing by slowly phasing reopening with the data that we have. But the idea that we have to stay shut down for over a year to ease the burden of hospitals while nurses are posting Tik Tok videos is just unrealistic.

I agree that an individual shouldn't work just to survive but it's objectively disingenuous for people to also claim that an individual who is furloughed/lost their job and has no source of income is wanting to reopen just because they're a corporate bootlicker, especially when both American and European health officials claim the lock down measures are counterproductive.

Its not about living in a bubble - its about making sure hospitals do not suddenly have the entire country show up at their doorstep.

Herd immunity stage will come, but it has to be controlled and be gradual. Lockdowns help with that. Also consider this - can you operate with flu? When your joints ache and you're burning up with +38 or more? Would you go to your office or sit at a till? For now, the flu still holds higher K/D than Corona, but how contagious is it compared to Covid? Is a vaccine readily available? How does it affect a re-infected person?

As for jobs and such, I would wager that this pandemic highlights the uselessness of capitalism. People who have jobs just to literally live. Not to afford luxuries, but to have a roof over their head, food and water. Its time the world opens its eyes to the need of self-sustainability of the individual.

Sweden has some social distancing, but not full on lock down; when compared to their neighbor Norway that does have a full scale lock down in place, the death rate has no significant increase. No one is saying these lock down measures that were put in place were the wrong thing to do when the pandemic started, but the numbers we have now do not match the numbers we have when this started. We have never forced people into an absolutely horrible situation over a fatality rate of less than 1% before.

This isn't just staying at home and playing video games all day unless your NEET trash. People have no money for food or shelter; child molestation, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety and suicide is all on the rise and for what? A virus that doesn't kill you and doesn't leave any long term health effects in over 50-80% of individuals just like the cold & influenza? It's not just American doctors saying this, European health officials are saying the same thing. This is a pandemic, but it's not going to kill you and it's not going to make you infertile, or attack your brain, and turn you black like some would have you believe. We have never treated a health situation like this since the birth of civilization.

When the trained doctors in that video talk about interacting with the environment and being exposed to bacteria & flora, they're not cooking that shit up out of their ass. That's a biological fact, elephants, pandas, hippos, all of them literally eat their mothers shit to obtain the bacteria needed to produce a stronger digestive system. Bunkering up in your room for four months and sanitizing everything is going to do you more harm than good.

But really, I don't understand this logic that if this virus is not as deadly as something else we should not quarantine. It's like letting a serial killer go free by saying “eh, car accidents kill more people than him every year”

I would just like to publicly tell Verbatim that I believe he is the most quality member here on this forum. Not a single letter on the keyboard he presses when posting here is a wasted effort. While I may not agree with him on a lot of things, Hell even 99% of things, he is truly an eye-opening individual. I have this newfound interest in aspiring to be more like him. I'd even go as far as to say that telling LC he was going to eat his innards or whatever it was was still a worthwhile endeavor.

Verbatim, I sincerely hope you continue to post as you always do.

Now please post your Evangelion Q review.

EDIT: Updated title as news/information on the last Eva movie comes out.

I was going to post a long comment with sources about how this pandemic is over-exaggerated and how comparing a virus with a 1% fatality rate to the planet exploding is just being straight up dishonest and morally bankrupt; but fuck it you can read for yourselves. I'll just spam memes since the only way you know how to react to opposition is boil their arguments down to laughably false insinuations.
