Let me ask you, if a person is good lucking by normal standards, has a very active social life, well off in life with a good job, a masters degree or some form of higher education, and is considered the perfect individual, but watches anime in his free time, is he no longer a normie to you?

smart enough not to watch anime/read manga

If that's what you're upgrading from then swap out that Mobo and CPU for Intel ASAP. AMD CPU's are hot garbage and AMD themselves knows this. There's a reason they use Intel CPU's when showing off their latest GPU's.

The Flood / Petition for EFF to investigate W10 Upgrade practices
« on: June 08, 2016, 09:12:34 PM »
I know there's a huge amount of W10 fanboys on here, but I'll try to keep the pros and cons of the OS itself out of this. Although I do feel the OS is nothing more than horse shit drenched in hog piss.

Microsoft's W10 Upgrade practices is Malware by even the loosest definition of the term. It forces itself onto your computer and holds your system at gunpoint with an "Upgrade or....upgrade" option. Sure you can delay it, but eventually it will try to upgrade and give no option of canceling. Computer technicians such as Carey in the video below have worked with Malware for years and have never seen such an aggressive form of adware infest a computer, and what's worst is Microsoft is getting away with it. It is fucking pathetic and pitiful that Microsoft would drop to such disgusting lengths to force users down a certain path when their founder built Windows on making your Personal Computer actually PERSONAL.

You can sign the petition here to have the EFF investigate Microsft's disgusting business practices and have them realize how in the wrong they are.

Whoa, Deja Vu. Also nice insult without responding to either my point to Charlie or my point to yours.

Ian's mental age becomes apparent with every post he makes. You can tell he JUST started delving into politics.

Under this logic no one should defend Mr. Peanut Jimmy Carter but he was sure cut a lot of slack after he left office.

Between Clinton and Trump, only one really has any political experience. She was a Senator and a Secretary of State. He was a business man. By the nature of the job, whoever gets in will have to nearly exclusively deal with politicians both foreign and domestic.  There isn't any getting around that.

She may not have much experience, but at least she has some.

5920
Except that defense force is ass blasted over simple political memes.

I think it's less a Shillary defense force and more of a "she's at least better than trump" force.

5921
Oh hello Dewey, how's the white house treating you?

Because Hillary is obviously going to win.

5922
That is exactly what Charlie is doing with this thread but you sure as Hell ain't giving him any crap for it.

I didn't know winning the nomination meant winning the general election.

Are you being sarcastic? Because Dragon Age Inquisition disagrees

And yet his momentum in the primaries alone had the rest of the nominees eating his dust. If Trump only had a small voter base even within his own party, he wouldn't have even gotten the nomination. I don't know if Trump is still doing this to prove a point or not, but his campaign is a wake up call for both parties. For his own to stop fumbling at the bullshit the Democratic Party throws at them, and the Democratic Party to show that continuous baiting of bullshit insult cards "Racism, misogyny, etc." isn't gonna work every time.

The difference here is that they were polished politicians. The establishment accepted them. Trump doesn't have this. His base barely tolerates him, when they're not attacking him outright. The sad fact is that Hillary doesn't piss off conservatives as much as Trump pisses off everyone. His entire platform is anti-establishment. The Democrats establishment, the Republican establishment, all of them. He can't energize his main base, he isn't reaching across the aisle to get swing voters, and is so hostile to his opposition that he energizes them to fight them.

The Left says that every four years about their Repbilican boogeyman and yet they're still locked in a 50/50 split up to the polling booths with uncertainty on who's going to win. This was said about Romney four years ago, and McCain eight yet they still persist to use this argument after both results were rather narrow. A new argument would be nice.

It's funny that those who yell loudest that Trump's unstoppable are the very white males he panders to. I hate to break it to you, but his election is contingent on getting every white male vote, and on epic disenfranchisement on women and minorities. Latinos, especially Mexican Americans, won't vote for him. In fact, I've seen some Pew data showing he's energized them for Hillary. While African Americans aren't as enthusiastic about Hillary, they are very anti Trump. Likewise women. Trump's attitude has been decidedly anti woman. He's vocal about it.

Now say that voters go along strictly sex/racial lines. 50% of the population is white. The other half is minorities. Of the white population, 50% is women. This means that the most amount of popular vote he can get is 25%.

Now, looking at age, young voters are waaaay more left leaning than older voters. Most would rather vote for Hillary than trump.

Basically he stands a snowball's chance in hell of pulling this off.

Like you?

Flea markets. Rummage sales. Amazon.

All places you can get a console for $20 or less, if you're lucky and patient.

My PS2 shit the bed almost a year ago, I try to stick exclusively to Amazon and I have yet to find a PS2 for $20 on there.

I can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 unless you put them side-by-side, so it's a total non-issue for me.

That's great for you then, but it's not just framerate you can manipulate in the graphics settings of a game.

If you factor in the costs of having someone build it for you and you're shooting for PS3 levels of graphics and hardware, yes you will pay more than getting a PS3 but it wont be by an exuberant amount, not even an amount worth noting as a difference.

so i get to pay more, when i could just play this PS3 i got for less than $50 at a rummage sale

cool

The comment on better games is an opinion like you said and the price comment is kind of right if the person is uninformed. But the fact that you can tailor your graphic settings and frame rate to what you need is something I really wish they brought to consoles. We all remember the trailers and game videos leading up to the release of the next CoD showing a stable 60fps but as soon as you slap it into your console you're getting 30 if you're lucky.

Because that's what a PC gamer's argument always boils down to.

"We have better graphics!" In your opinion.
"We have better frame rates!" In your opinion.

You can pay someone to do it for you. In fact, just going to the local Best Buy and doing your homework before buying anything will net you a somewhat decent rig for gaming.

The disadvantage is becoming increasingly smaller though. My buddies up in NY all built Micro ATX builds and they carry all their shit over to each other's houses and do LAN games for Forged Alliance game nights. PC's are slowly but surely becoming just as easy as consoles in the regard of plug and play setup, especially if you just pay someone to build it for you.

PC is better, more versatile and more capable. But the starting cost is considerable and it's no guarantee it'll ultimately be cheaper for people who don't buy a lot of games (at launch). It's also more susceptible to hacks, crashes and a myriad of software/hardware problems that can be a pain for even the tech-savvy people, along with quite a bit of things that can go wrong building one or setting things up.

Consoles are weaker and less capable of playing a large variety of games at the highest settings, but the plug-and-play easy set-up and the laid-back couch (split-screen) gameplay make it more convenient, fun and social for a lot of people. And while it is possible to set up a PC like that, it'll take a lot more effort, make things less comfortable or put you at a disadvantage against others.

The analogies you offer don't make sense simply because the creator encourages you to do so. Pissing in the museum would be fine if the owners encourage you to do it as well, which is exactly what Bethesda is doing.

I don't care. In my opinion, the only people who are at liberty to change/add shit to the game are the developers. Everyone else should leave the game alone or make their own game. It's like pissing in a museum.

If the developer supports it, like Bethesda does, that's fine, but I still don't agree with it. Would you want to be friends with someone who's okay with you pissing all over his house? I sure wouldn't.

Part of building a PC that will always be a positive over the consoles is the individualism involved in it. You could always copy someone's build and have it run find but you also have the power to make the PC uniquely your own and have it run either the same or better. There's always this belief that you have to have all this crazy $1000 shit in order to run your games on a PC just for better graphics which isn't the case. This is usually stated by people who don't even care that much about graphics which makes me wonder why more and more they feel this way when you can tailor your PC to fit your own needs and not some predetermined settings consoles place you in.

Because Rotten Tomatoes is a shit site full of pretentious movie snobs.

The fact that they rated Angry Birds better than Warcraft really says something about the quality of their critics.

How is sexualized characters negative again? You could say it makes women feel worse about themselves or something similar, in that regard I could say the same for male characters. Usually someone will always say it's different for males because it makes them feel empowered, I don't understand this logic. Why is it empowering when we have sexualized males but empowering to females? If you have body issues and don't like that female characters are designed better than you, it sounds more like a personal issue than a social one.
