Variety of reasons: It's similar to how emails are responded to, you see my response first which is what you are probably looking for, and some people get butt hurt by it. I only really quote traditionally if I'm responding to multiple people in one post.

Also why do quote in the retarded isara way

Well he kind of did, you just gotta add a "No" in front of "Luke".

Vader never says "Luke, I am your father" either

I haven't seen a classic Disney movie in a very long time, ironic since guests expect me to know EVERYTHING about them.

I should start collecting them on BD at some point.

Well I'm getting all four extracted but it's at 9:45am so I have the whole day and night to recoup since the doctor said the procedure will only take up to an hour at most.

You should be good. I mean, I only had to get 2 pulled. I COULD have done stuff the next day, but I just decided to be a lazy ass and pop some oxys and I believe I watched like 4 harry potter movies. Great day.

but yeah, you should be good. Just be careful with the painkillers they give you afterwords.

I have plans the following day with a group of friends, one of them had their wisdom teeth pulled before and she said I'd be okay the following day (I have to be since our meetup place is a 20 minute drive from where I live). Will I be fine the following day? I really don't want to cancel.

Basically just pop whatever they give you for the next 48 hours for pain and then sell the rest. You'll literally just sleep or be assed out on the couch.

We made our restrictions more lax since the 20's I agree with you there, but we used to have very tight rules before WWII on who was allowed in. Are you in good health? Are you able bodied? Can you speak English? Etc etc. if you said no to any of these, you weren't going to stay on Ellis Island very long.

LOL

No, you don't. America really only started getting strict with immigration after 9/11. Otherwise it was a country that got flooded with people from every corner of the globe and most of them were what we would consider today "illegal immigrants".

And for the longest time we did and it was great until it got out of hand. To keep with the cooking analogy, you can keep adding stuff into the pot to cook but you can't take it out once it's in. Moderation is key and throwing everything in unfiltered is a recipe for disaster.

My idea of a melting pot is all the cultures mixing together to form something unique. And annoying if you look at American culture :<>

The term "melting pot" came from a time where the idea would now be considered racist because "Muh cultural appropriation". You have intensely strict immigration and you let in only those who were deemed a net gain on the country, and you assimilate only the benefits of the culture they came from. That was the melting pot, not this morphed....something we have now.

It's kind of jarring to see the country that has the label "melting pot" on it, has someone leading a party under xenophobic messages. Obviously that's not what Trump is all about, but it is the part of him that gets the media attention.

I was laughing my ass off until 1:30. That woman was literally so brainwashed that she was on the verge of tears at the idea of her country being sovereign again. I'm almost upset at the idea of people being so deluded that they're crying over the fact that their country isn't being eroded away.

Augustus would be disgusted with the world today.

Vocal minority, even if that minority is only off by 4%.

Under the logic of 4% not being a big enough gap, should we elect our presidents only if they meet a 10% gap vote?

The problem with Q is that it fucks up everything about the universe and literally every character except for Shinji in order to force Shinji into a situation that he shouldn't be in. I get the whole message they were trying to convey with Q and Q marks the "turning point" in NGE but can you really call the movie a success when it destroyed everything in its path to get us to that point?

Oh no, my anime goes off in a different direction because I want to watch the same thing a 3rd time over only in better animation.

I don't understand the butt hurt in these movies going in a different creative direction. If I already knew what was gonna happen, I wouldn't watch it.

There's a reason why it's coming off as generic and fan servicey, however you wont know that reason until about episode 16 on wards and it becomes very apparent starting from 20 on wards. I seriously want you to reconsider finishing Eva since if you really hate what it's doing now you will love what it does later.

I hated Evangelion.  After about 10 episode it looked like they ran out of money an ideal and resorted to pervy fan service.

« on: June 26, 2016, 10:51:59 PM »
If the people are voting for the authority they want, then the only thing wrong with it is that the vocal minority is bitching about not getting their way.

populism is inherently and objectively negative in that it seeks to disrupt the basis of authority and consolidation within cultural and economic constituents

Voting for someone you hate if it means the election cycle will be important again. Who that is that people are voting for is entirely up to the individual. But I'll take voting for an animated turd over voting between Char Aznable and Bill 2.0.

Such as?

An interesting read on the event as the news sinks in:

Quote
First thoughts:

– THE UNITED KINGDOM WILL LEAVE THE EUROPEAN UNION.

– The working class did it. The issue was immigration. It wouldn’t have been my choice for main issue, but I am not ashamed to have been in a broad alliance. I’ll gladly bear the next election being won by a party I don’t like in exchange for elections mattering again.

– Talking of which, who will win the next election? Which parties will fight it? When will it be? No idea.

– Shy Leavers. And I hesitate to say this, but the atmosphere of blame following the murder of Jo Cox will have been perceived by many as moral blackmail.

– The EU is holed beneath the waterline. People worldwide have seen that impossible things can happen.

– President Trump? His visit to these shores is spookily well timed.

– Prime Minister Cameron? – 2010-2016

– Don’t assume that the SNP actually wants another Scottish independence referendum. Right now a second indyref would have the same result as the first.

The US could learn a thing or two from this outcome and its reactions.

If they do, they better learn their lesson and actually show up to the polls next time. It's one thing to be smug about a victory, it's another thing entirely to be smug about victory when you didn't do anything to earn it. I see young voters all the time say they just wont vote, they have a variety of reasons, but the only one that irks me is "I'm not voting but the person/outcome I want will win anyways." like, do people not understand that old, retired geezers have NOTHING better to do than to go out and vote?

what are the chances we rejoin in 10-20 years given how the younger people wanted to remain?
