The new Star Trek movies are pretty diverse and they don't make it a selling point, then again TOS was also pretty diverse so I guess its a moot point. No one really cares about the new Star Wars cast because everyone just wants to discuss the story, which is how movies should be.
It's not just movies but also games. If you don't flaunt it everybody will praise your game by default. ME3 got a lot of gay-haters but no one batted an eye to FFXIV's open marriages.

There are certain individuals here (they know who they are) that would have you believe that this movie is not only a success because of its female cast and its hate campaign against its own original fanbase, but that anyone who says otherwise is somehow that real problem and this movie is some kind of shining example of what others movies should be. I want these individuals to know with 100% certainty, beyond any reasonable doubt that they were wrong and that this political agenda pushing bullshit backfired. You may see it as just kicking an already shit movie when its down, but the fact that none of the users on here (that do exist!) that would challenge this view are staying silent, and are only doing so because of how butt blasted they are. God damn OP, you're acting like this movie pushed you down as a kid every day and took your lunch money. You put way too much effort into telling us a shit movie is going to do shitty which is something we already knew.

China blocked it because they're afraid of spooky scary ghosts, so don't expect any cushion numbers from the east. This movie is objectively bad, end of discussion. Anyone who says otherwise is in full on damage control. Their dreams of making a successful franchise on this new gang is dead and in the grave, where it rightfully belongs. Next time, don't demonize the people you're trying to pander to and hope they'll still buy tickets to see your shitty movie.
