That was Platinum Demo, the one made available to everybody. It was made just to show what kind of gameplay it has, Episode Duscae is significantly better because it's an actual part of the real game, but was only available to people who bought specially marked copies of Type-0 (like the Halo 3 Beta and Crackdown). I don't know whatever demo has the fox looking thing and toy weapons

VII is overrated hot garbage, it got lucky with the timing and came around the same time the whole anime thing started to boom. I can not bring myself to replay it because there's just so much gameplay wise that sucks. And for whatever reason, I can not bring myself to sit through X. I just find it so boring, nothing about it really keeps me invested in the story. That's debatable, considering the main character was severely lacking. I'm not saying it's bad, but 10 is like the crown jewel of FF along with 7 in the eyes of many.

How dare you, XII was a fucking flawless masterpiece. But arguably the best FF's are 6, 7, and 10. One could argue (taking the MMO out of it), that there hasn't been a good main installment FF since 10 back in 2001.

I can see why you'd probably avoid it, most of the FF titles from VII onward is heavily eastern-influenced. It's not Persona-tier with the anime stuff but it gets pretty close. Looks like trash.
FF is a series that intrigues me, though--I might decide to run through the entire main series some day, starting with 1.

The original six are very much western, so is XII and XIV, XIV sells like hotcakes but XII seems to have a much smaller following. Keep in mind XII is my number one favorite of all time. What FF needs is western influence.

I think the years may have wore everyone down, which is unfortunate since SE seems to be pulling out all the stops for it. Everything about the story is intriguing to me, I really don't want it to be another Type-0 though. FF 15 doesn't look like it'll be bad, but I'm just getting an "eh okay I'll get it I guess" feel for it.

Cosmogony 15:2 "Nadir" With the game only two months away, I thought it would be a good idea to have a XV thread since the launch is getting closer (plus XIV is in a lul period following patch 3.3 so there's not much activity going on in that megathread). I don't think anyone here lives in the land of the rising sun, it would be interesting to see how Japanese officials react to the incident, will they bring up motives? Possibly being mentally unwell? Possibly push for a better healthcare system? Any of those options would make the officials here in the states look like fucking idiots either way.
