There are a myriad of health benefits to eating meat whereas there is only damage from smoking. I don't see vegans suffer from drug withdrawal like legitimate addicts do. Considering how there isn't widespread claims from vegans on how difficult it was to "quit" eating meat, comparing meat to smoking is just downright fucking silly. You can sit there and give legitimate reasoning like the ethics of the animals, or being able to form a diet with a substitute source of protein and nutrients. However, to say that meat, that has its own health benefits provided how informed and smart you are with how you consume it is the same as something that is only there to damage the body is just objectively wrong. This is all ignoring the fact that once again, artificial meat isn't widespread enough for us to say people are choosing real meat in droves because they're addicted. When (and even I admit it's inevitable) artificial meat STARTS to become common place, people will most likely avoid it simply out of uninformed fear such as current GMO products, not because they're unethical addicts. as somebody balls deep in biochemistry for the past few years, meat actually causes chemical reaction in the brain really similar to other addictive substances such as caffine, sugar, and yes nicotine.

You did not just compare eating meat to smoking. They're nothing alike. And no, people don't refuse artificial meat because they're addicted to real meat, artificial meat isn't widespread enough to be as prevalent as natural meat. Artificial meat isn't practical enough to replace real meat in markets (this is ignoring the other argument that artificial meat isn't even sold in most markets) and wont be for a very long time. You also have to look at the downside of farmers who produce meat. They will most surely lose their business and in terms of livelihood, a farmer and his family is worth more than a group of chickens. I sincerely hope you mean that from a modern standpoint and not from a standpoint of our entire existence. One of the reasons why I hate humanity as a whole. People who find no problem with this (or partake in the slaughter of animals) are one of many societal ills.
