Examples?

No Ian, I mean every time period before that, because I have never seen a decent budget film actually try to stay more true to historical fact than Hollywood characterization and stereotyping

Um, duh? It's a casual, entertaining musical. If someone is going around calling themselves a history buff because they saw the play, they're a retard. Again, not the fault of Hamilton.

It's the lot of them though, the ignorant masses realize they still don't know jack shit compared to the person they looked down upon so they use it as an excuse to take away the only level playing field he or she had.

Every fucking movie about a time before the 1900's ever.

You mean like the time periods before the revolution and civil war? Those were before the 1900's too and they try to pay attention to detail. Obviously the further back you go the harder it's going to be to keep it completely accurate, but with all the knowledge we have now in 21st century, we're seeing less and less inaccuracies in these films.

I will admit this is mostly anecdotal, but that's not how the fans I've come across see it. In fact, you're the first to say otherwise.

Hamilton isn't a serious adaptation, not by a long shot. If I had to put it between Vampire Lincoln and Day-Lewis Lincoln in terms of intentions and role, it would be much closer to the former.

Seems you misunderstood the entire point of the play. It's goal is to entertain; make you laugh, cry, and stay on the edge of your seat. Not to teach.

It's normie-bait bastardizing shit I got picked on for liking back in high school, of course I'm going to be angry at people who hate history suddenly calling themselves history buffs.

Your reasoning for hating Hamilton is fucking retarded, and has nothing to do with the play itself.

Yes really. How often do we get serious adaptions of history where accuracy isn't taken into account other than Hamilton?

Not really. And even if that was the case, that doesn't mean everyone has to follow the status quo.

Because every time someone tries to blame video games they're bombarded with numerous studies showing how untrue the statement is.

That video game burning in Sandy Hook did really piss me off though. That fucking child had the smug smile thinking he's doing legitimate good with parents blindly believing that nonsense.

You mean just Anti-right in general.

Veganism. I would say ultra-leftism, but I'm honestly much less of a leftist as I am just anti-alt-right.

Everyone who has to put up with dumbasses that tout it as fact.

Who gives a fuck? He did his part, and you can't hold it against him or the play without being as moronic as those who take it as fact.

The Flood / Re: cultural appropriation
« on: November 24, 2016, 02:32:41 PM »
The problem here is that most adaptions go out of their way to be accurate, not embellish it.

If you watch ANY historical adaptation and believe that what was presented to you was the complete truth, you're a moron. That's not the fault of the adaptation.

The fact that he has to say it more than once means no one's listening to that fact.

And Hamilton didn't. It would be deception if Lin Manuel Miranda claimed his work was historically accurate, but time and time again he's stated that it's the opposite of that.

Vampire Hunter is balls to the walls over the top to the point that you can tell it's full of shit, it's also common sense that vampires don't fucking exist.

The problem is the Hamilton cast may even say they're taking liberties but how often do you hear that? You still have mindless masses eating it up believing everything in the script and then they go and tout their knowledge of the founding father. Not many people bother to look into this shit past high school and only at a college level will you find these true facts, so this will be passed off as common knowledge.

And who gives a shit if people think that Angelica was into Alexander? That's on them, not the play. If people thought that Lincoln actually hunted vampires, would that be the fault of that movie? No, because it never claimed it was historically accurate, and neither did Hamilton.

Catering to idiots is exactly what artists are doing though by taking huge ass liberties. Because idiots can't be bothered to open a fucking history book.

so instead of allowing artists to express themselves however they want, we should just cater to idiots

no one gives a shit about historical accuracy holy shit

stop being autistic

it's just a heartbreaking, catchy musical

I bet you think the movie where Lincoln was a vampire hunter was better than the Oscar winning Lincoln.

Caring about historical accuracy this much is pretty fucking dumb--especially when it's not TRYING to be historically accurate.

that said i have no idea if hamilton is trying to be historically accurate

Historical accuracy is important because then we have dip shits running around thinking Angelica Schuyler really did lust after Hamilton.

Because Hamilton is already a joke that can't be taken seriously when they can't even get historical facts right.

And no one complains with something like Hamilton, where black people "appropriate" the culture of whites.

The Japanese are, hence why none of them seem to care about Anime exploding in the west, it helps their economy. Also despite the claims of racism, they don't seem to care that much about it in terms of tradition. If you were to go to seasonal festival or ceremony over there, you'd be looked down upon for not wearing a kimono/yukata regardless of race.

I would think most people would be delighted to see others emulate their culture.

Serious / Detroit children don't have the right to literacy

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/11/gop-gov-snyders-office-says-detroit-school-kids-have-no-right-to-literacy/

Quote
The state of Michigan is being sued because several schools in Detroit are failing to teach children how to read, and Gov. Rick Snyder’s team of lawyers has come up with a novel defense.

According to local news station CBS Detroit, Gov. Snyder’s attorneys are claiming that children who are taught within the state’s school systems have no fundamental right to literacy, which means that the state isn’t liable if its schools fail to educate them.

The lawsuit, which was filed on behalf of Detroit students’ families by a California public interest firm, argues that children in Detroit have been fundamentally deprived of their rightful education thanks to neglect by Michigan’s state government.

“Decades of State disinvestment in and deliberate indifference to Detroit schools have denied Plaintiff schoolchildren access to the most basic building block of education: literacy,” the suit alleges, while also claiming that the schools’ “slum-like conditions” render them “functionally incapable of delivering access to literacy.”

CBS Detroit notes that a report from five years ago found that nearly half of all students in Detroit schools were functionally illiterate.

So don't blame the Dindus for murdering in Detroit, they can't read the law so they didn't know!

I spent the entire first page of this thread explaining to people that we're not a direct democracy only for you to complain about how shitty our democracy is?

YouTube

YouTube

Well it makes voting blue in states like Texas pointless and voting red in states like CA pointless as well. With a popular vote system then every single vote would count and it would give the people the actually ability to vote for the candidate they want to be president. The biggest bullshit thing about the EC is that the person who wins the most EC votes may not end up being president, Clinton can end up winning simply because of the EC people voting for her. Our so called democracy is shit.

Cases are entirely cosmetic and does nothing more than reflect the aesthetic choice of the owner. The reason they have the same basic box interior is because it's the ideal structure for all your components.

And if you're going to listen to HC and drop to an I5, use the money you save on a SSD for your OS, you'll thank me later.

Finding an alright case was hard.  They're so boxy and basic
