In other news, 3.333 released today. There’s has been several new information regarding this new cut of Eva Q:

>WILLE logo is clearly visible on the downed ship in Lilith’s Chamber.
>Unit 02’s beast mode code is now “Back Code Three Seven”.
>The dialogue between Asuka and Rei Q in the Mark 09 is cut short; Asuka doesn’t ask “Who are you?!”
>The lighting in the room Gendo and Fuyutsuki are in is different and the room is more clearly visible.
>The shoulder wings growing out of Eva 13 are changed from red to purple.

And most importantly: A NEW UPDATED NEXT TIME PREVIEW, I’ll post more in a bit, on my phone.

I got extraordinarily lucky when my sociopathic ex tried to get me fired on a false accusation of harassment. Not only did the company find her accusation entirely baseless and told her to never to make up a lie like that again, but she ended up losing her most dreamed position/location to me in the end afterwards.

Had she gotten away with it though, and had I lost my job, I have several thousand dollars in savings in the case of unexpected unemployment and have various levels of backup plans laid out in case one of those things don't work out. It would be a major setback to my overall plans but I figured if things just keeping failing for me, so long as I can get an overnight security guard position at some retirement home I'd be okay. Sure I'd lose all my ambitious goals, but if I'm failing constantly, I'm probably not cut out for that anyways.

Thankfully I got the first step of my grand agenda completed a month before my quarter-life crisis, but then the COOF came along in March and fucked everything up.

At the risk of continuously being labeled a Reddit Consooooomer, I've waited eight years for this movie and if there's one franchise that I truly connect with, it's this one, and this is the big finale for all of it. When watching Eva it's like looking into a mirror, I see a bit of myself in all of the main four characters. That can be both optimistic and also scary at the same time. These characters have positive qualities to them but their mistakes and how others treat them really tears them down and I can't help but notice the parallels with my own conflicts in life.

Hideaki Anno is a genius and after this final movie for the whole series I doubt I'm ever going to find a work of art as personal to me as Eva.

That being said, it's earnestly nice to see that you're so enthusiastic about stuff. Be nice if I could feel that kind of enthusiasm about anything.

The re-edited 3.333 and Shin Eva will screen back to back January 22nd going into the 23rd for a midnight release of Shin Eva.

Ticket sales for the midnight screening begin January 13, but we could get ticket sales potentially earlier for single screenings. This is important because it gives us a good chance of figuring out the total runtime of the movie.

The eight year gap is actually because right after 3.0 released in theaters in 2012, Anno went into another depression and didn't even visit his studio for the entire calendar year of 2013. Right when he came back, he was exhausted from working on Eva for so long that put it on hold and decided to work on other projects. He was a VA for Miyazaki's The Wind Rises and directed Shin Godzilla in 2016. He didn't get fully back to work on Eva until the beginning of 2017. This gap was by no means planned; the very first original plan for New Theatrical Edition had 3.0 and Shin Eva supposed to release together as a double feature; and when that fell through they were supposed to release extremely close to one another. When 3.0's release date was announced, Shin was announced to release in 2013, but that obviously didn't happen and we were stuck in Limbo until we got more information in 2017/2018.

To further drive home how important 3.0 and Shin are too each other. The first two movies got a resource book (Complete Records Collection) released right after their DVD/Blu-ray release that details the entire behind-the-scenes process of the movie. 3.0 never got one because Anno has stated he'll release it together with Shin since shedding any light on 3.0 would massively spoil Shin Eva.

Eva is important to the industry because of just how many different works were inspired by it. There a re numerous rip-offs, spiritual successors, and love letters to Eva in Anime; and a lot of the tropes, clichés, and ideas/themes can be found in so many different titles that aren't even mecha related. The only problem is that the industry didn't really "learn" anything from what Eva/Anno was trying to teach them despite Anno being memed massively for fucking around with his audience. Thus, when 3.0 released in 2012 and Anno did what he does best with Eva, everyone freaked out and 3.0 sits at a solid 3/5 or 5/10 in most review circles. Not because it's just a "meh" movie, but because people either praise it to high heaven as another masterpiece by the God Director, or it's 0/10 garbage dumpster fire and Anno has become a massive hack.

You'll have to explain that one to me. Why's it so important to the industry? I'm guessing if the movie took eight years to animate then it may have something to do with production quality standards in part?

I haven't watched Season 2 yet, I'm going to binge it with family on Wednesday.

With that being said.......FUCK THE SEQUEL TRILOGY.
