That was actually me, I waited a bit before posting the thread. I actually thought it was Vien. Also:

Sing and the Emoji Movie didn't already make you think that?

I think Hollywood has officially hit rock bottom. They're truly scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas now.

The Flood / Picking a program
« on: April 21, 2017, 11:23:16 PM »
I've been thinking/internally debating a lot about it today, and I feel after summer it might be for the best to slowly go back to taking a class a season and get on track to finishing my degree since I've knocked out all my Gen-Ed classes. However I'm left with some questions:

-Will I keep the credits I earned from two years ago? It's the same school.
-Do schools ever purge inactive students?

If I don't have any problems with the previous two questions, I'm stuck on a choice of two different degrees.

A Technical Certificate in Film Production and an A.S. in Film Production. The first is slightly shorter and I can complete it faster but the latter I have all the gen-ed classes completed and I wouldn't have to leave my job at the end to get the degree. I'm really torn on choosing one; I don't really want to be in a position of leaving the company but I kind of want to get it over with.

What would you guys suggest?

I'd honestly recommend P4 first TBH mainly because I think he would like that one the least and he can get it out of the way. I mean, I personally loved the Scooby Doo gang but it was more weeab than the first three.

>There are people that add scars to their character

I was clearly joking, but the scar will probably compliment you if it heals up nicely. It's like one of those scars you'd add in a create a character screen lol.

It is, he doesn't really provide any sources for his claims of male superiority other than listing off names of geniuses who happen to be male. As stated earlier, I posted the video in an effort to push discussion over what different kinds of things could be pushing men away from college, as he not only doesn't back up his claim that men are leaving because of women, but saying it's the sole reason would be silly in and of itself.

So, I'm not watching the video because eugh, but it seems like kind of a shit argument?

And that's what I originally intended my job at Disney was going to be when I first started, just some part-time job from Fri-Sun to give me extra money while I went to school. But as I saw my fellow coworkers work their way up the corporate ladder without even so much as having stepped into college, and me having no place in college at the time I went, I chose the option they chose.

I understand that success isn't easily obtained, and my option of reaching success via the corporate ladder is much harder than even just getting an Associates in something. But when I finally did get my first job it came with certain freedoms I had no intention of giving up and going back to school would force me to do so. Also keep in mind I never completely ruled out going back and finishing school, I got most of my Gen-Eds out of the way and I also have a clearer idea of what I would want to do should I decide to go back. But I would only do so when I'm in a position where my career isn't going to be hindered by it. I also don't think the argument that other people didn't have the chance so I should take it isn't very strong, it's forcing a square peg through a round hole just to get your use out of it.

Maybe you might only find it mildly annoying to have people constantly prod you to do X and get Y, and I would have only found it that way too if doing X wouldn't make my life absolutely miserable. Yeah I could choose to ignore it and push out of mind when I'm not around family, but when you go to any sort of family gathering and the only thing they want to bring up is how you're throwing your life away, it's incredibly painful to hear that. Considering I'm actually doing something to contribute to society and pay taxes, I think I deserve a little more credit.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea, I'm not Anti-College like my brothers are and it's certainly one of the best ways (if not THE best way) to land a good position in a career, but it's not the only way. You should never ever force anything on anybody, you'll almost always get the opposite reaction than what you were expecting. I just really want people to understand that I know what I'm doing and I have backup plans. I'm not making a decision because it's the "easiest" path.

You could have done several things, college, trade school, start your own business even. Working at Disney Land isn't a career, it's a job. It's something people do while they pursue something else.

I'm not upset about anything, I just think it's fucking weak of you to drop out of college because of it being too much pressure. Nothing good is going to be easy and stress free.

Pacific Rim 2 will save us.

So I guess shitty reboots just aren't enough in the Current Year and now we have to simultaneously destroy two childhood memories at once.

I don't think you understand the definition of a dead end job.

The idea that you only have two options, one being college and the other being some dead beat loser is just so asinine. It seems you're just more upset that I was given slightly more forks in the road and I chose one for myself. Just because you opportunities that others don't doesn't mean you're obligated to take it; especially if it's not the best one for you. I did go to college, and I left because while I could definitely finish it, it simply wasn't for me. It's comments like those that push me further to succeed where I am now and shove it in the face of everyone telling me I made a mistake.

>Disneyland

You could've gone to college or a trade school. Literally no excuse. And then people like you are the ones who talk shit about minorities when some of us couldn't go to college while you're here bitching that it was too much pressure. What a little bitch.

I'm not at a dead end job though.

I would legit rather be a gorilla than somebody who complains about having family who pushes him to go to college so he doesn't end up in some dead end job.
