« on: May 29, 2017, 01:14:12 PM »
Verb, I'd like to take the time to apologize for everything negative thing I've ever said to you. You literally just described me to the bone (save for #2 on how to handle the stress), I feel I can operate on your wavelength.

what's a person who doesn't drink or do drugs to do about stress if not absolutely nothing, and just pretend that there's nothing to be stressed about?

i play video games and watch movies and lounge about and shitpost on the interwebs

they tend to be pretty good distractions—if procrastination were an olympic sport, i'd win gold every single year

lately, because i consider myself smart and proactive, i'm trying to come up with strategies to either 1.) stop putting myself in stressful situations, 2.) use the stress as a fuel for productivity in the event that stress is unavoidable

results are thus far inconclusive and require further testing

Kinda busy, haven't been able to post much.

So ironically after I said I never saw one in person before, the funniest shit went down. A family came into the store and their son had one of them. While they were checking out their groceries with me, the son kept saying "dad look at this!" Annoyingly. He was like 12, old enough to know better than to continuously pester his dad.

His dad repeatedly told him to wait but he just wouldn't listen. Eventually he had enough and just whacked the fidget spinner out of his hand. I couldn't see from my side of the counter but supposedly one of the rings on one of the prongs fell out. The kid then begins to go apeshit. The spinner still worked because he was spinning it like crazy but he's doing it while also crying and losing his mind "DAD WHERE IS THE RING?! DDAADD!!!!" He was making this huge scene in front of everyone, it was fucking hilarious, I really had to bite my tongue to prevent myself from laughing.

I have yet to see one actually despite working in the most normie place in the world.

More like the countries are falling apart because local warlords who don't give a shit about the past or current politics just want power and money and then start civil wars to undermine the current authority. In which case, your only options are either to get involved because you feel letting innocent people get caught up in something like that is unethical and deal with consequences of outside involvement, or do nothing and let the country eat itself alive while begging for outside help for the innocents. Either way you're fucked.

Lots of Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East is still dealing with the fact that a lot of the internal bits of the countries hate the shit out of each other because some bastards with big guns and boats drew lines on a map and went "yup, that's a country, now."

Centuries is a very bold word to use when the entirety of Africa suffers the same problems as the small pockets of its white populated areas despite not being touched by colonists since the end of the Imperial rule. More could be said for the Middle East, not all the countries have been molested by the selfish interests of outside nations yet they still treat women as less than men and stab each other in the back in a less than civilized manner. This of course also brings up the fact that while Africa is a festering shit hole, it at least doesn't produce huge amounts of terrorism despite having """scientists""" that believe you can harness the power of lightning from a moon god to strike another individual down.

At some point a nation needs to be held responsible for its own ugly history. It's not to say the US/USSR and the British Empire are absolved of their crimes, we wouldn't be flogging ourselves over it in primary school history class if that was the case, but it's dishonest to say the fault is entirely on the West.

Quote
Primarily due to centuries of invasion and warfare by competing foreign powers such as the US and USSR. Same reason so much of Africa is fucked up. Or are we working off of the "imperialism and colonialism were actually good things and the fact that the Belgians exterminated half of the Congo while using them for slave labor is a positive and/or never happened" sort of logic, here?

I need it for a Film Production degree.

I was on a hiatus for two years because I was unhappy with it at the time, I didn't have a sense of direction or what I wanted to do. Now that I know what I want to do and I have all my Gen-Ed classes done from before, it seems like it's better to restart now than later for no reason.

Like acting? Why did you dropout?

Taking one class at a time starting in August. I'll be taking Introduction To Theater to start.

I don't know how to feel about this, I'm more excited about getting out of the house and possibly meeting new people than the actual class.

Sometimes it's the ones that actually challenge you that make the best friends.

Nah, being a cry baby edgelord because you have anxiety and can't make friends makes you childish.

A friend of mine from work got me as a potential match and she posted it on Facebook in our work group. She eventually took it down but by then it was too late.

Still pissed about it, she's definitely not in a position to make fun of me about it.

i think the only thing stopping me from trying tinder out is the fear that someone i know will find my profile. i'm pretty kinky but i don't need that getting out there.

Verb, you gave yourself away the moment you said this but didn't go into detail about how legal theft from the government is good and some Joe breaking into your house to steal your shit isn't. You don't make mistakes like that.

Ya know, when I left Tinder last time, I kept it installed and I just didn't sign in. According to the app it kept messaging me telling me to come back because I had 60+ swipe right on me. I just ignored it cause I wasn't in the mood after a shitty date. I come back and I'm getting nothing. Funny how before I had in my profile how I watched anime and played video games during most of my free time and I got more matches than now. Now that's gone and I replaced it with saying how I'm majoring in Film production. I didn't know that was a bigger dork sign than being a fucking Weeab.

Also I really need to update my profile pic, it's fucking ancient but I'm not very photogenic and I don't like taking shameful bathroom selfies unless it's for you guys.

dont lose hope Ian
