Is 343 still carrying on with these writers? Are they bringing back older people for writing? I don't think the old guard can salvage this.

I got about half way before things going on IRL prevented me from finishing (February of 2014 if you remember) and I never got around to finishing it because work/school kept me busy. I reinstalled the VN on my new computer but I have a fuck huge backlog of other games I want to complete first before getting back into it. I do know some of the ending to HF though, and I'm not very happy with the "proper" endings.

That might as well as be as bad as such.
Did you ever get around to actually reading Heavan's Feel and hopefully understanding the whole thematic progression of the VN?

A more interesting story/plot.

Who was the antagonist of Halo 5?

I played the Fate route first and watched F/Z in tandem while going through the UBW route.

Oh right

I forgot you were a zero secondary.

Serious / Seattle's Sugary Drink Tax
« on: January 11, 2018, 10:54:15 AM »
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/seattles-soda-tax-experiment-is-doomed-to-failure/article/2645568

TL;DR:

>Seattle implements a $1.75 per ounce tax on sugary drinks
>Tax is designed to drop obesity in the city and increase revenue for other health programs
>A $16 24 pack of Gatorade is now $27
>People are now going outside the city to buy their drinks
>Beer/alcohol sales have also increased
>No evidence that taxing sugary drinks heavily has ever killed obesity (such as with Mexico)

Meanwhile:

>I live literally on the opposite end of the country from Seattle
>My local Publix is doing a buy-1-get-1-free on 8-packs of Powerade
>I walk out with 48 bottles of Powerade for about $14
>Not obese

1446
UBW is incredibly fucking slow, with a lot of buildup leading to no pay off. There's only one or two really good fights in the entire show and the rest of it is just incredibly boring exposition on character motives. I'm pretty sure UBW only got the praise it did because people viewed that route in the VN with rose tinted glasses. Looks back on it, it was incredibly fucking boring.

But it wasn't.

1447
UBW was written with F/Z in mind. Deen Stay Night starts out on solid footing like the VN but then jumbles up all three routes into one and turns into a coherent mess, all while not delving into the back story (that would later become F/Z).

Meaning what?

Black Panther is expected to be stronger at the Box Office than Thor Ragnarok was.

Black Panther is surprisingly good

There's definitely a good number of shows under the Fate belt, but if you had to go with one I strongly recommend Fate/Zero because it was handled way better than both versions of F/SN. It's also less tropey/cliche than F/SN even if it has its own fair share of problems.

fate is not a series i want to fuck with for a while

mainly because of this shit

Most people can get on with their day to day lives without getting involved with politics. Hell, even with the absolute awful state of game journalism, I can enjoy video games without politics getting involved. Things that aren't normally political only get political if you want them too, and unlike SOME individuals, most people don't want politics consuming their life.

but it is

1451
Both adaptations of F/SN are awful but UBW is at least more coherent to F/Z.

No, if he's going to do Deen stay night he should do that before Zero.

1452
Verb put Fate/Zero before Fate/Stay Night, it's much better for beginners.

Ironic isn't it? The one person who actually has The Walt Disney Company printed on his paystub gets enjoyment out of shitting all over their movies.

but aren't you literally on their payroll 🤔

Chally I've given up in that and similar ventures. The only winning move is to not play.

The Flood / Ribeye cooking issue
« on: January 10, 2018, 02:34:27 PM »
So yesterday I got two ribeyes at a Whole Foods Market for around 16 bucks. 10oz, USDA choice, somewhat decent marbling, the whole shebang. I cooked one yesterday and I plan on cooking the other today. My problem though is that when I got the meat on the pan and searing, it started to shrink up and the edges lifted off the pan; creating all sorts of uneven cooking problems.

I don't know if it was because of the pan I was using, I don't have a proper cast iron and the pan I was using isn't entirely flat. I was gonna use a slightly bigger pan but one that was definitely more flat. I also don't know if the temperature on the stove might have played a role, I preheated the stove but I had it all the way up, not sure if I needed it on like a 6/7 out of 10 instead.

Any steak experts have any good ideas?

Jeffery Dahmer, really fucked up. From the Wikipedia article:

Quote
For this reason, from June 1986, he began to administer sleeping pills to his partners, to whom he would give liquor laced with the sedatives, then rape their unconscious bodies. After approximately 12 such instances, the bathhouses' administration revoked Dahmer's membership, and he began to use hotel rooms to continue this practice.

You would think the bathhouse would revoke the membership after the second or third instance, but nah it's not a problem until he does it 12 times.

The dude also drilled holes inside the heads of his drugged victims and poured some weird acid into it in a attempt to induce some permanent unmoving submissive state.

Most people still do subscribe to that belief. However it's difficult to do when the employer of all things is the one bringing it in.

Whatever happened to "don't bring your politics to work"?

You see, I was eagerly awaiting to get a summons in the mail for my first time. It wasn't until I finally went to jury duty when I realized it was fucking awful. Next time I'm taking my copy of Mein Kampf and hope they mark me down to never summon again.

Although I now kinda wish I got to do it at least once.

They try to pay you an equal equivalent to however much you usually make a day, but county by county has different rules for it, things like how much money the city has and what kind of job you have also plays a factor. You hardly make anything if you don't have a job; when I was unemployed I only got $15 when I was there for a ten hour day.

you get paid for jury duty anyway, don't you

not sure how much though
