For my PC I use this neat little program called DesktopEarth. You can set a view of Earth and mess with the angle and stuff then have a more or less realtime updated view of Earth, which is pretty neat if you watch evening sweep over your country.

Do I think he's guilty of several crimes? Probably. But I'll let the investigations decide the absolute answer. I don't know how many times I have to say it for you to be satisfied but I'll humor you: I don't like Trump.

There's other ways of fighting back against Trump, even on the subject of Kavanaugh; but this was by far the worst possible way of doing so.

but the main reason he should've been denied for the position was the way he handled the accusations. The entitled anger of a rich white boy who's never known real consequences his entire life. And then 3 days later he tries to apologise for his emotional behaviour. People who have known abusive people in their own lives can see this behaviour coming from miles away; act abusive, then apologise and victimise yourself to make the actual victim feel sorry for you. He's unfit for the position regardless of the allegations' truth.

You're right, he shouldn't have gotten angry. I mean it's not like the main opposition against him getting the position is a bogus story from 36 years ago saying he's sexually harassed someone. Yeah, I can't possibly see why he would be mad over that.

Even if he didn't get the job but his name was cleared, the damage has already been done, he can't go anywhere in public without people going "Oh he's that rapist" not just him but his family has to deal with the shit as well. We'd all be pretty fucking angry if we were in his position and anyone saying they wouldn't be is bullshitting.

Peterson had an interesting take on this (that he's now getting flak for from his fellow conservatives) that if Kavanaugh was truly right for the job, upon confirmation, he should have stepped down knowing how polarising he was. This would've have cleared his reputation in most people's eyes and have worked to lessen the divide between parties right now. But no, he knows the only reason he's there is to push the "Trump can pardon himself" initiative knowing that there will most likely be a democratic senate come December that will push to impeach.

I like Peterson but that is complete nonsense. If he's completely right for the job why shouldn't he keep his position? All him stepping down would do is appease the people who have worked nonstop for the last month to drag his name through the mud. Anyone Trump nominates is going to go through just as much of a shit show and the seat would be left vacant until who the fuck knows. That's not fair to the people qualified who might be nominated, it's not fair to the Senate (both parties) having to repeat the whole process, and it's not fair to the American people having to watch it.

As for the second half, I know that the opposition party tends to win in the mid-terms but this whole fiasco has spurred multiple news articles on a GOP surge in voter-turnout.

It's hard for me to believe it's all a hoax to make me a drone for the rest of my life when I've seen plenty of people in my small time in the work force reach it themselves. It's easy for me to believe it's just a giant pipe dream, but it's also easy to see my friends reach management within six months of being in the same job I'm in with the only difference between me and them is that they're in a different location.

I'm not a workaholic because I'm trying to avoid my problems; quite the opposite, but I'm not going to get into the discussion over the morality (or lack thereof) of why I want to move up, it's neither here nor there. But the fact of the matter is, I've seen plenty of people I directly work with, who are my equals move up the ladder. You say it doesn't exist, but I'm literally looking right at it on a daily basis.

There is no "working up the corporate ladder." There's taking care of yourself by fighting the company at every turn; the battle between the corporation and the individual must always be on the individual's terms because if it isn't, the corporation will steamroll you. There's one person you should work hard in this life: yourself. If you're working 60 hours a week in the hopes that someone will eventually notice your hard work, wake up and smell the flowers.

Furthermore, this idea that you have to work long and hard when you're young is absolute bullshit when you consider we've been fed this line for 30 years and we have people in their forties still working as long and as hard for barely enough to get by. If you are working that much, your mental health, your physical health or your relationship with your friends and family are strained, all of which you have a responsibility to take care of as a member of society.

I get that you're this socially awkward weirdo but running away from your problems by being a "workaholic" isn't going to work out in your benefit. Better to realize it now than wake up in 10 years with nothing to show for it.
