The Flood / Re: Can I just apologise to anybody I've pissed off?

Nah dude.
I have bouts of insecurity, at times. I'm just concerned people might see me as overly-arrogant or completely uncaring.

hey so Meta I don't understand the thread you made about me
I don't know why it was locked.

It was meant to me a Nuka=nuke thing.

Like, radiation.

The Flood / Can I just apologise to anybody I've pissed off?
« on: January 09, 2015, 06:27:30 PM »
I know I have a tendency to be a haughty cunt sometimes, so I just want to apologise to anybody whom I've pissed off. I mean, yeah it's a fuckin' forum but I don't want to be a prick all the time.

Particularly Icy and Kiyo, though.

EDIT: No this isn't like a me fucking bawling my eyes out at the thought some people might consider me a cunt, it's just me saying I don't mean to be such a prick, I don't actively try to be a prick.

Have you ever used your condition as an excuse, or thought of using it as an excuse?
Not really; I don't care enough when I do something wrong to use it as an excuse. When I do need an excuse, I can usually think of something better than "I'm a psychopath".

Did your story about your college reprimanding you really happen?
Yeah, but the 'class' I actually have to take is just a session with a teacher who I'm actually really cool with, and who'll agree with me about the whole ordeal. So, nothing lost really.

I also realize ASPD isn't exactly a commonly self-diagnosed thing, but how would you feel if someone did that?
Funnily enough malingering is a sign of ASPD, so somebody who actually knows they're malingering could be antisocial--or borderline. If they're worried about being antisocial, then they definitely aren't.

Doesn't really bother me, though.

But seriously, were you surprised by the diagnosis? If not, how long did it take to come to terms with it?
I wasn't surprised, but I'm not a very surprise-able person. I think I over-compensated for it at first; now it just sort of comes and goes as an aspect of my personality.

The other night I was walking past a canal to get home and there was this homeless lady sleeping nearby, I wondered if I threw her in would people it was just think it was suicide.
I hate to say I'd have been tempted to push her in.

What's the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath exactly? I don't think I ever was taught a good answer for that in school.
Psychopathy is caused primarily by genetics/neurology, whereas sociopathy is caused more by environment. However, you'll get a mixture of causes in both of them. Psychopaths are usually considered to be more manipulative, more detached, less empathetic, less emotional whereas sociopaths are much more anxious and impulsive.

Do you think having the condition has impaired you in any way, or given you unique insights into subjects ordinary people would struggle with?
Not especially. I can step on people's toes sometimes but I think it also allows me to be fairly objective.

Fine, disorder.
Still doesn't especially count. It sort of pissed me off at first but now I don't really care; if anything it's beneficial.

As to why I flaunt it? I don't know. I did a lot at first since it was like this "new" thing coming in and upsetting my sense of identity, but my sense of identity fluctuates anyway so I'm not at all surprised when I gravitate to the idea of being a "psychopath" or whatever else it might be.

Also correlates a lot with my mood.

Why do you need so much attention today?
Had this week off college for exam prep.

Holy shit am I ever bored. There's only so much of Alan Greenspan's memoirs you can read in one go.

Why do you flaunt your mental diseases and your nationality?
It's not really an illness, from my perspective.
