This thread has devolved into a perfect example of why I don't want to be here anymore, alongside the fact that it's dead.

Nuking in 3. . . 2. . . 1. . .

3
Lol why?

Why am I leaving or why am I nuking my account?
Nuking. Like why?

I don't want anything I've written here in jest biting me in the ass.

4
Lol why?

Why am I leaving or why am I nuking my account?

I'm off this site for good. My activity has dropped to the point where it's not really worth having an account here. The traffic has also slowed appreciably, at least to my mind. So yeah, goodbye, auf wiedersehn, adieu, whatever.

I'll ask a mod to blacklist my account in 30 minutes to an hour. So say what you gotta say in that time, if you want to.

Too bad you failed your suicide attempt
it's tongue-in-cheek dummy

it's literally propaganda, depicting trump as a villain, with racists in the background and an auschwitz logo next to trump

it's oppositional, not supportive, of trump/white nationalism

EDIT: I originally posted it on reddit with the title "Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to r/the_donald".

It's true.

I didn't say the funeral was today, or even tomorrow.
Or even the day after; would still be too soon.

You also didn't answer my question.

I'm a student, not an expert. We're a team of students. Some degree of incompetence is expected, but I think we did a fine job.
So, according to yourself, the character was meticulously created by you to serve a specific purpose, and you wouldn't trust anybody other than Matthew to act him. . .

Yet the user is apparently maintained by a whole team, without the actor having access to this team-maintained profile?

meta why indulge them
Because it's fun for me.

I like trying to hone my reasoning with stuff like this. There's a chink in the armour somewhere big enough to fit a sword through; I just want to find it.

We're in Ishpeming for the funeral.
Three days after his death?

Bullshit.

Why can't I find any obituaries for a deceased Matthew in Ishpeming in either a newspaper or on a funeral home's website?

and he likely doesn't know how to use the private messaging function.
Except he does because Matthew lent his face and voice, not the entire user.

And the degree of personal correspondence Verbatim has had with people either means this is a lie, or he had very poor control over his experiment to the point where he wasn't even aware of his own character's actions.

So Paul, are you lying or incompetent?

Matthew was given instruction to fraternize with several non-participants to help create a more immersive atmosphere. Hiring several other actors would be too much of a cost, and I cannot trust anyone else to do the job as well as Matt.
So you contradict each other.

Fraternisaton by Matthew would require him to be based in Ishpeming, which would disallow the team from going to "his favourite pub", which would be nearly a six hour drive from Chicago.

It doesn't make any sense.

It's alright. We have all grown to know each other so well over the past eight years, and it is hard to come to terms with the sudden death of a friend and coworker. I am not sure if you have heard, but the team is planning to visit his favorite pub tomorrow night. I assume you will want to come and have a pint as well, but I understand if you would rather have a quiet night at home with the missus.
See, now you're just trying too hard.

This conversation would not be held on this forum, of all potential places.

The intended victim was stripped naked and then firmly fastened within the interior space of two narrow rowing boats (or hollowed-out tree trunks) joined together one on top of the other with the head, hands and feet protruding. The condemned was forced to ingest milk and honey, and more honey would be poured on the victim to attract insects, with special attention devoted to the eyes, ears, mouth, face, genitals, and anus. In some cases, the executioner would mix milk and honey and pour that mixture all over the victim. The victim would then be left to float on a stagnant pond or be exposed to the sun. The defenseless individual's feces accumulated within the container, attracting more insects which would eat and breed within the victim's exposed flesh, which—pursuant to interruption of the blood supply by burrowing insects—became increasingly gangrenous. The individual would lie naked, covered from head to toe in milk, honey, and his own feces. The feeding would be repeated each day in some cases to prolong the torture, so that fatal dehydration or starvation did not occur. Death, when it eventually occurred, was probably due to a combination of dehydration, starvation, and septic shock. Delirium would typically set in after a few days.

If you pay close attention, you might be able to figure out who I actually am. To be frank, I'm surprised you didn't already know; I assumed you were just playing it off so as not to compromise the integrity of the project.
Ah.

Yes.

Sorry, I've been so distraught lately ever since Matt's death. Haven't been able to think straight.

Also you betray yourself by pretending to not know what Dark Souls is.

Even if Matthew had access to this Verbatim account and was free to post (in itself dubious) without your permission, you would still be monitoring it closely enough to know exactly what Dark Souls is.

The impression we intended to create was a boy who had social media, tried getting into it a bit late to the party, but ultimately wasn't heavily into it.

I won't bore you with all the intricacies, but there's layers to it all, you see—your incredulity is expected and not unwarranted.
"Jacob Potilla" AKA Matthew-Just-There-For-The-Photographs has an individual from Ishpeming (who is clearly not a stooge) tagged in his profile picture, and on that individual's wall is given editing credit on some post about Ishpeming city council debates on a smoking ban.

Was Matthew older, or younger?

Where else in Illinois other than Chicago have you lived?

Also, if you really were performing a psychological experiment this deep, I'd imagine this is precisely the kind of thing you'd want to study. If everything else you say is true, it is unlikely the experiment has actually ended.

he was only there for photographs.
One of which is openly credited to a woman from, oh, Ishpeming.

The page itself was maintained by a number of staff members related to the project.
Bullshit, have you seen Verb's facebook? It doesn't look like he maintains it, let alone "a number of staff members".
