Drinking what?
Whiskey. And Strongbow.

Not together, like.

Separately.

This is probably one of those instances where I'd support the federal government over a state government.

Well, being gay is a disorder.

It's okay, Jesus still loves you.

Wait, you actually expected it to be not shit?
No.

I just didn't expect it to be that shit.

I don't LIKE the guy, but I don't think he made nearly as many blunders as Bush did. Or Cheney rather.
I agree with that. Even I, usually supportive, sometimes cringe at the legacy of the Iraq War.

Don't even get me started on the economy under Bush, though.

Some women actually believe that's what real life is like, thus they fantasize about all men being like that, thus I'm single.

The only reason why you're still single is because you're not confident in your own ability to talk to the opposite sex. If you could do that and not act so desperate, you'd be alright.

Though to me, free will is a misnomer; call it sapient uncertainty.
You've essentially reduced a fundamental, metaphysical concept to "we don't know". I don't see how the existence of 'free will', so-called, is dependent upon our ignorance.

If you were to flip it round, you could say water wasn't H2O until we determined that it was.

And not all events are causally determined. There are indeterminate events as well, which assert that Free Will exists.
Since when?

Serious / The ceasefire which began in Ukraine today won't last
« on: February 15, 2015, 02:08:31 PM »
More fucking capitulation from the West. Will it never end?

Minsk II is essentially a thorough protocol for sucking Putin's cock. Ukraine has lost much control over the south-eastern regions of her territory, as they become Russian protectorates. The so-called "People's Republics"--ring any fucking bells?--of Donetsk and Luhansk are essentially puppets of the Kremlin.

Unconditional amnesty will also be granted to the pro-Russian militants who fought in the "self-defence forces", and they also get to keep the weaponry supplied to them by Russia. And, on top of this, the Ukrainian government will have to pay for the re-establishment of the financial services in these regions, as well as uphold obligations for social transfers like pensions and the salaries of civil servants.

Furthermore, Russia is being rewarded for its participation in the "peacemaking", and will likely see a reduction--if not abolition--of the economic sanctions she has been under. Not only are we giving perhaps the most dangerous world leader a foothold in a country he sees high utility in, we're also cutting him some fucking slack.

These Minsk agreements will fail, just like the last.

Serious / Two more souls are taken by terrorism in Copenhagen, Denmark

The gunman shot dead by police after a double terror attack on a cafe and a synagogue in Copenhagen that claimed two lives was known to Danish intelligence, the head of the country’s security service has said.

Jens Madsen said the suspected killer may have been “inspired by militant Islamist propaganda issued by IS [Islamic State] and other terror organisations”, but it was not yet known whether he had travelled to Iraq or Syria before the attacks.

The suspect was from Copenhagen but has not been named. He had been “on the radar” of the intelligence services, police said. They have recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the first attack.

Armed Danish police raided an internet cafe in a major operation in Copenhagen near the spot where officers killed the suspected gunman behind fatal shootings, local media said.

TV2, which reported from the scene, showed footage of armed officers in dark uniforms outside the internet cafe and said at least two people had been taken away by police. “It’s part of our investigation,” a police official told broadcaster DR.

The killings began at about 3.30pm local time on Saturday, when a man attacked the Krudttønden cafe during a debate featuring the controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who had depicted the prophet Muhammad in cartoons. Finn Nørgaard, 55, a film director attending the event, was reportedly shot dead at close range after going outside for an unknown reason at the time the attacker struck.

At about 1am, 37-year-old Dan Uzan was killed while guarding the synagogue in Krystalgadeduring a bat mitzvah celebration. Two police officers were also hit, but their injuries were said not to be life-threatening.

The Danish prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, condemned what she called “a cynical act of terror” and said she was “happy and relieved that police have disarmed the suspected perpetrator behind the two shootings”. She said Denmark had “lived through some hours which we will never forget”.

Vilks, who was unhurt after the gunman was unable to enter the cafe, said he believed he was the target of the first attack.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down and in the morning,
We will remember them.

More senseless murder. More religion-inspired sadism. More violence between our brother and sister human beings. I hope their deaths are not in vain, and that one day we will look back on these days and weep at our own barbarism. Lest we forget.
