Eh, it's not exceptionally important.

It's probably a result of weak demand for the Euro. Draghi's QE will sort it out.

I guess I'm just surprised that anyone in this day and age starts smoking.

I understand people who got hooked before we knew how bad it was, but now? There's no reason to start smoking. It's terrible for you and expensive. I don't see the up side to starting smoking.
Teens are more likely to start smoking. So are people with family and friends who smoke.

I qualify for all three, so the statistics are against me. But I'm an impulsive person as it stands, nonetheless. I do understand your incredulity, however.

Also, that's not what I said. But hey, believe what you want.
I said families are socially horizontal and ought to be non-coercive, and I said fuck my family if they want to be coercive.

At which point you said I must not love my family.

Whatever point you were making was poorly worded. The only other option I have is thinking you said people who smoke don't love their families, which is even more retarded so I'm kind of doing you a favour and offering you an out here.

But it's not just "some people" it's a fuckton of people.
And how much more dangerous do you think the tobacco industry would be if driven underground, out of the remit of state regulation? Taxing cigarettes at ridiculous rates is bad enough, but flat-out banning a specific product is asking for trouble in one form or another.

I mean, come on. The plastic can holders, plastic bags, drugs, needles, bottles--a fuck tonne of things are dumped into the ocean.

If you catch somebody doing it, fine the shit out of them. Don't preclude somebody like me from my vices merely because a lot of people are idiots.

Sounds like you don't love your family. Okay then.
I don't love my family because I won't be coerced?

Yeah, fuck you. Moron.

Good, it's time we stop giving ourselves cancer. While I understand the whole "it's my body so I can do whatever I want," you have to think of your family. Your family doesn't want to lose you any sooner than they have to.
I know a guy who was hit by a car.

For the love of God, ban cars. No, don't be stupid. Families are horizontal, co-operative units. If my family wants to coerce me into doing something I don't want to do unless it's immediately life threatening, they can go fuck themselves.

I just think it's odd that someone smart like you does something stupid like smoke.
It's obviously because smoking makes me a cool cat.

Enjoy paying for lung cancer.
What does that have to do with the EU directive here?

I don't care that you're not paying for an unhealthy product, so surely you must not care that I am unless I go around blowing smoke over people's faces? Unless, of course, you're that petty and spiteful.

HAHAHAHAHA

Holy shit they're really desperate for money. As if Germany hasn't given them enough already they've resorted to extortion. Wow.
The Defence Minister also threatened to send Islamic fundamentalists living in Greece over to Germany. . .

6827
They're demanding reparations for World War Two to the tune of £240bn and threatening to seize German property if it isn't paid. Talk about bread and circuses.

Quote
Germany has reacted with anger and defiance to Greek government demands for multibillion-euro reparation payments over first and second world war atrocities.

Greece’s justice minister, Nikos Paraskevopoulos, said Athens was prepared to approve a court ruling to seize German property in the country – including the Goethe Institute, the German Archaeological Institute, German schools and holiday homes if Berlin refused to pay €341bn (£240bn) in compensation.

The demands, which also included the return of 8,500 archaeological treasures and artefacts in Germany, were met with incredulity in Berlin.

Seizures of property that could extend to holiday homes of private German citizens would be used to compensate victims of a second world war Nazi massacre of 218 Greek civilians in the village of Distomo, the government said.

Bela Anda, who was a spokesman for Gerhard Schröder when he was German chancellor, now an editor at tabloid Bild, branded the threats “bizarre, presumptuous and impertinent”.

“The government of [Alexis] Tsipras positions the lever where Germany is most vulnerable – the crimes committed by Germany in the first and second world wars. It’s moral blackmail,” he said.

The demands stem from a Greek finance ministry report published in December 2014 which calculated on the basis of expert assessment that Germany “owed” Greece €9.2bn for the first world war, €322bn for the second world war and €10bn for money Greece was forced to lend the Nazi regime in 1942.

Resentment in Greece over Nazi atrocities remains high, and has been greatly exacerbated by frustrations over its bailout and the widespread feeling that Germany is largely to blame for Greece’s woes.

The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, and her finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, have been repeatedly depicted in the Greek media in Nazi uniform.

If Republicans knew what was good for them we'd see Jon Huntsman again. I strongly considered voting for him in the last run.
That's the second time I've seen you mention Huntsman, what do you like about him? What makes him better than Bush or Rubio or Walker?

Do you not self identity as a cunt yourself?
No.

Am I a cunt sometimes? Yes. More so than other people? Yes.

But I don't try to be a cunt. I'm not the petite-sadist you seem to be, getting kicks out of what little power you can drain from your miserable social networks. When I'm a cunt, it's reactive. I'm angry. I'm irritated. When I'm sadistic, it's explosive. I shout. I punch.

I don't report people to the police for a forum post just to make myself feel good. I try to hit a baseline of decency, even if I apparently lack the emotional intelligence to connect with that idea of decency.

But why are people lazy?
Everybody wants the most benefit for the least cost.

The cost of turning the ads off is obviously higher to some people than simply putting up with the ads.

But ads aren't profitable if you can turns them off.
Depends how Panasonic is being compensated for it.

Let's be honest, if they're getting paid on a per-view basis when it comes to the ads, they're just capitalising on the lazy consumers who won't be assed enough to turn it off.
