Free Cities are officially established across England, especially in the South and some across the Eastern coast due to trade with Sweden. Merchants flock to the cities and help conduct domestic as well as international trade, and are left broadly unregulated by the government.

The Crown levies a 30pc land tax on these Free Cities.

Sweden sends 20 boats with 15 men per each (300 in total) to take Finland.
You will not be able to take Finland with just 300 men.

Quote
Expected victory is at page 6 (it's really close)
More like page 9, you can't take a country with 1,000 men over the course of a year.

The Crown Bank, with the sole authority to mint groats, is now established. The King himself sits on the bank's council. The Bank can make loans to domestic and foreign agencies, including governments, and can charter private banks.

The Jews are also evacuated from the Rouen, and placed in important positions in the Crown Bank, enhancing England's financial efficiency.

The Crown Bank begins establishing Lesser Banks, also with Jews in key positions. Lesser Banks are expected to be fully established by page seven.

England begins shipping 20pc of our surplus barley, oats and wool to Sweden.

5357
and that is the one possibility that turns me off the idea depending on how it decides to do it
Who cares?

Power is to society as money is to economics. If you're going to invest power in anybody, it might as well be an AGI.

precisely

i always believed that power corrupts
Just think, though, Verb.

You could have a sentient being so intelligent and technologically advanced that it could literally be able to abolish suffering.

5361
so let's not do that
Why not? Such a being would be so powerful.

Practically God-like.

England extends the arm of economic friendship to all amiable countries.

5363
especially if you honestly think it needs to be sentient
Make something intelligent enough for recursive self-improvement then it will become sentient whether you want it to, or not.

the only difference between AI and "true" AI is sentience
Sentience is a function of intelligence.

We already have AI, what we're talking here is AGI.
