Yeah, Chomsky thinks people are stupid because they're being lied to, you think they're stupid because they're poor.
I was kidding, but if you think that makes you come out looking better then sure thing.
Woah, slow down their chief. I never said people who advocate sociocentric morals are stupid. Despite living in an individualistic society, you can examples of sociocentrism up and down the population. It just so happens that most ethical considerations based on community accrue in the lowest strata.

Not all the way through, what does that have to do with anything?
If you understood Chomsky's Propaganda Model you'd realise the difference between the "bewildered herd" and a tendency towards sociocentic morality.

I'll take "doublethink" for 500, George.
Have you read Manufacturing Consent?

I don't know anything about your country. In America, our public education system only teaches about America. The only time we learn about another country is when that country has gone to war with us (in which England has, but they've only taught us how you guys wear red coats and don't know how to fight a guerrilla war and that you were a monarchy at the time). You guys always say Uni and I have no idea if you mean that there is only one college in your entire country or if it's private or public or what?
Lel. We're a unitary state, not a federal one. The central government could, say, take away Scotland's assembly if it so chose. As for "Unis". There's a stage in between high school and University which we call college. Colleges, however, are also the physical campuses of many Unis. When we say "I'm going to Uni," it just mean "I'm going to University". Unis are technically private.

Another thing, it's kind of funny that the guy who wrote this has a problem with the general population being described as "the bewildered herd":
You are really fucking stupid if you think that's contradictory in any way.

Man, philosophy really isn't even that hard.
I know, I got straight-As in the mocks. Apparently everybody did really fucking salty bollocks; my mate got an E and he's decently clever. My philosophy teacher ended up messaging me on Facebook saying he's having the entire group's exams remarked.

What is CRD?
Conservative Research Department. It's like the breeding ground for prominent Tories.

That has nothing to do with his thoughts on the internet, but okay.
I posted that quote because it's an accurate summation of the American political system, I don't really care about how original his opinions are or how much he hurts your feelings with his arrogance.
I should've made that more clear. Narrowly focused pertains to the Internet; he's really quite ignorant. Feelings have nothing to do with it. He's described the general population as the bewildered herd, and he's rife with contempt. I can see why'd you want to agree with him on that though, out of pure fear of intellectual inadequacy.

Does it really work that way in the UK?
Yes. A lot of prominent Conservatives pass through the CRD, including the current Prime Minister and Chancellor. The only prominent politician I can name that can seriously claim to not be a "career" politician is Nigel Farage.

Why? Because he thinks it's full of idiots?
He's not wrong.
He's an unoriginal, narrowly focused and arrogant one-trick pony.

Democrats are still pretty conservative which is why I support the Green Party (The American Socialist Party is full of communists and government agents).
Doesn't the Green Party oppose GMOs and nuclear energy, just out of interest?

You want to be a politician?
Shit, that explains everything.
lrn2red fagg0t I've thought about doing a number of things, and I'm far too ignorant of my own abilities to set myself on a career path.

We've given them $125m in the past five years. We're practically fucking bankrolling them. If it means hostages have to die, so be it. Paying the Danegeld doesn't make the Danish go away.

Many corporations have been declaring record-high profits lately.
Well that wouldn't surprise me. "Record" isn't a high bar after the worst economic downturn since 1929.

Partly out of laziness and partly out of curiosity, I want you to help me write my personal statement for uni. It can be true to me, or completely fabricated.
Just say something fucking interesting.
