Thank you, Cheat.

Now somebody lock this before more chaos ensues.

13022
You could have just sent the mods a PM.
I could've.

It's a matter of interest for the entire forum, however. Yes, Dustin's been acting like an arse. Yes he's been provocative, idiotic and downright sanctimonious.

However, there is no justification for locking his threads in the Serious board simply because he refuses to quit posting about a specific topic when said specific topic isn't forbidden. The moderation system has to be impartial.

13023
And yet earlier you accuse Comms of lacking self-control.

Don't like it? Don't participate.
Yes, because Comms lacks self control, something that this discussion has literally nothing to do with. Are there any other irrelevant topics you would like to bring up?
Irrelevant?

My capacity for discussion, especially in the Serious board, shouldn't be subject to your whims and fancies. If you don't like the nature of a discussion, nobody is forcing you to participate.

13024
CP is fucking sick and wrong, there's no need for discussion about it.
But has Cheat prohibited discussion of CP?

That is the key to this issue. If not, then locking threads on it is bias in the system where moderation must remain as objective as possible.
It does not matter to me if it is in the rules or not, I do not want to see discussion of it either.
And yet earlier you accuse Comms of lacking self-control.

Don't like it? Don't participate.

13025
I demand Dustin's thread be unlocked in the Serious forum.

13026
CP is fucking sick and wrong, there's no need for discussion about it.
It was about the proximate causes and effects of CP, which is a legitimate discussion to have in the Serious forum considering it really is a pressing issue on society and how we should respond to it.

Besides, that wasn't my point. If he insists on talking about a forbidden topic, why not just ban him instead of locking everything he posts?

13027
I don't see why his thread in serious was locked, it seemed like a legitimate enough discussion.

However, if you're just going to clog the forums due to his insistence to talk about a particular topic (three, four times now?) you might as well just give him a light ban.

Serious / Re: Fun fact on child porn [moved from The Flood]
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:30:42 PM »
What the fuck are you talking about?

Quote
Experts differ over any causal link between child pornography and child sexual abuse, with some experts saying that it increases the risk of child sexual abuse,[39] and others saying that use of child pornography reduces the risk of offending.[40][41] A 2008 American review of the use of Internet communication to lure children outlines the possible links to actual behaviour regarding the effects of Internet child pornography.[42]

According to one paper from the Mayo Clinic of the U.S.A. based on case reports of those under treatment, 30% to 80% of individuals who viewed child pornography and 76% of individuals who were arrested for Internet child pornography had molested a child. As the total number of those who view such images can not be ascertained, the ratio of passive viewing to molestation remains unknown. The report also notes that it is not possible to define the progression from computerized child pornography to physical acts against children.
It depends entirely on the nature of the content (ignoring the fact that 30pc to 80pc is a huge margin). It's not difficult to imagine that the most antisocial and psychopathic paedophiles access legitimate pornography, but there's nothing to suggest viewers of merely nudity or, especially, lolicon are dangerous.

And then, of course, there's the two Dutch sexologists I've mentioned before who believe that virtual child "porn" could help assuage paedophilic urges.

All of that besides, it shouldn't be treated as a criminal matter in the first place.

I edited the poll options for you. The "No" field was showing up strangely to me.
Just following orders.

By the way, he's threatening to hit the forum with CP if you don't perma him.

srs though, shouldn't "your's" be right since I'm referring to its possessive property? A British person should know.
Pronouns don't take apostrophes.

I wouldn't mind.

I'd rather we burn [ban] challengerX at the stake first, if anybody, though.
What's your beef with him?

And this is for the total lockout type of ban. Not the pansy ass type where you can still see forum posts. Yeah, it sounds totally weird why I wanna permaban myself. I would have made this thread myself if it weren't for the fact I was banned right now, so now Meta's making it for me. So why do I want to be banned exactly? Well, in that thread I made yesterday where I gave out Mr Psychologist's personal information, Challenger made a few posts which made me think about what I'm doing with my life right now.

He pretty much opened my eyes to what I was doing with myself right now (thanks Challenger). And I'm not exactly living the sort of life I want to live right now. It's like a downward spiral of being on the internet because you're bored, and then there's the fact that the internet makes you bored. So if you add in the fact that I don't even like the internet, I imagine you can see more of why I wanna be permabanned. So please permaban me.

If you guys don't permaban me, you're a bunch of sadistic bastards. And thanks Challenger. And fuck you, Kinder. Kinder will always be a mega nigger.

Leave it to Challenger to fuck up a thread better than anyone else can.
FTFY
You don't have the right to try and call Challenger out when your purposely posting provocative things like that.

Just stop being a fucking retard. All this to-and-fro was funny at first, but it's boring now and is ruining the board. It belongs in Anarchy.

Cut it out you fucking idiots.

You both sound like fucking children, and this is coming from the guy who gets a laugh out of dumping shitposts on the Flood.

This was a serious topic and was going alright, until you faggots decided to take the first fucking opportunity to make it a personal bitching contest. It didn't even derail over time, you started this shit fucking immediately.

This shit is fucking up almost every other thread in this subforum, and it needs to stop.
I got to agree here.

No.

I had a similar situation when I posted the thread asking if transgenderism is a mental disorder. I knew it would inflame and cause heated arguments, but I genuinely wanted a discussion about it.

If you're doing it with the intent of pissing people off, then it's trolling.

The DSM-V is literally terrible.

Gender dysphoria absolutely is a disorder.

Also well-done on managing to nit-pick what Challenger said, while still posting the entire quote. . .

Surely the entire tactic of the Trades Unions is to cause deadweight loss when demands aren't met.

« on: September 16, 2014, 01:09:26 PM »
I'm going to pose a question for you all.

Name one place in the entire world that is 100% Laissez-Faire, capitalistic, no regulation.
Such a thing couldn't exist in the first place. It's a loaded and redundant question.

How, however, the lack of complete un-regulation is supposed to justify an incredibly intrusive State is beyond me.
